Even in torrential rains it's still a wonderful place to camp! Remember to be prepared with several tarps to keep some dry cover over your picnic table and tent. Buy wood for a fire at the IGA in Townsend for $6 a bundle because it cost $9 at the camp store!Reservations are required for almost all of the sites. The camp store does have some food items for lunch and dinner but very limited. Store hours are 9am to 5pm. A hot dog is $4.... The store sells a large variety of souvenirs and t-shirts etc.

Well this is a nice little camp store with a nice selection of park merchandise The prices are higher than the visitor centers. It was explained to us at the visitor center that this is an outside vendor and a hat I had bought at the visitor center for $24.99 it was actually marked as $39.99 here. So be careful what you buy and check your prices at the visitor center.

We took a graduation trip to Wears Valley and biking Cades cove was on our to do list! We are so glad we did it!! Woke up and got there for 7am when the park opened! Almost had the place to ourselves and the animals! We definitely recommend renting bikes if you are traveling! Such an easy process and rental experienceParking: 50+

Beautiful place to stay! Love all the nature trails for biking or walking whatever you prefer to do. Cades Cove wildlife preserve is something everyone should take the time to drive around. You will see all kinds of God's creatures !

Nice little store for souvenirs , foods , snacks and drinks. Their veggie burger there was the best we ever had.It was so good that we bought it twice, once before starting the Cades cove loop and one after completing it. The store has a nice collection of gift items and souvenirs magnets, badges etc.

Very nice shop! People were so nice letting our puppies come in. I carried mine... didn’t want him to knock over breakables. Hot food and cold ice cream was available. Great souvenirs, lots of variety! Parking was fine and the bathrooms wasn’t too bad.

Had a lovely day celebrating the lives that had been lost in battle to grant our freedoms we cherish and hold so dearly.

My husband and I have been coming to the smokies for several years now but for some reason we haven’t turned right at the end of Cades to check out this amazing camp store until now! We wear our smoky vacation shirts throughout the year and have always been bummed we haven’t had any good Cades cove shirts. Eventually, my husband had to drag me away. I kept piling shirts into my arms, captivated by the designs. You gotta stop here for the cutest shirts! Bring lots of money though, it does add up rather quickly.

Great place to sight see wildlife. We rode the Cades Cove 11 mile bike trail, and it was worth it.

Highly recommend! Riding bikes around Cades Cove was the most fun adventure on our entire trip. I'm not in the best shape and was concerned about being able to make it around Cades Cove on a non-electric bike. We went for it and I was able to make it around no problem with their bikes. Staff was extremely friendly, prices were fair. As a added bonus their ice cream is delicious and a perfect treat after a long ride

We did stop at the campground store, but just to get water (after biking Cades Cove) Plus the air conditioning felt wonderful! It seems ice cream is a big seller this time of year :-) I wouldof got some but I don't eat ice cream. There are all kinds of souvenirs for sale and snacks and drinks too! I'd never been in here before, but I bet I'll be back!

Great place to rent a bike and stock up on essentials before heading out on a hike or bike ride. Very nice place, the restrooms were very clean. We drove through the campground, very nice. There are lots of places to camp with either a tent or RV. Enjoy your time here, it is beautiful.

A little disappointed that the vending machines dont take cards, and some dont take dollars either; but it's only a problem if the store is closed. The staff in the store were very nice, and the ice cream was very good. Lots of snacks and souvenirs to choose from, as well as camping essentials

Surprisingly the day we visited Cades Cove motor vehicles were not allowed on the loop. Thankfully they had bikes to rent on site. Although my family and I did not plan for this adventure, it turned out to be the best day ever. The bikes were great and very well maintained. The gentlemen at the bike rental were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and all the wildlife we saw. After the long ride, we visited the gift shop and purchased some souvenirs and ice cream. The ice cream was absolutely delicious! We look forward to visiting again.

This review is only for the bike rental at Cade’s Cove. Settle in, this is long! During a spring visit to the Cove, we decided to bike the loop during summer vacation. As vacation approached I researched the bike ride. I read the bike rental site, read their policies, and their FAQ. I read blogs about biking the loop with kids. We debated bringing our own bikes, but decided renting would be easier. We had read that the bikes could be gone by 6:45 am, so we planned for early. I knew there was a threat of rain, so when my alarm went off at 4:45 am (drive from Gatlinburg) I checked the radar. It looked like a possible shower at 6:15, but then a good 2 hours or so of clear weather. I figured we would get our bikes, wait out the rain, then bike before the next rain came. Nowhere was it ever noted that you could not rent bikes if it were wet out. If that had been the case, I would have seen the rain on radar, went back to sleep, and done something else on our last vacation day. We arrived just after 6:30. There was a line, but the bike shop was dark and a ranger was there. The ranger was surprised that no one was renting. At 7:10 the bike rental guy rolled in and said because of the rain he thought no one would be there. No apology. We all explained that we were okay biking in a little rain. He said they would not rent when it was raining. I asked why that wasn't on their site and he said it would scare people off when it might not rain (obvious lack of care for customers). I asked when they would next open and he said if it stopped raining. Wedecided to hike a bit of the loop. We passed the ranger station and stopped to talk for a bit. There were 3 rangers and they were all surprised they weren’t renting bikes (at this point the sun was starting to shine). They said the rain policy was nothing they knew of and the shop had rented in the rain before. I decided to head back to the shop now that it wasn’t raining and the sun was out. By this time there were others attempting to rent. The guy still said no, but now because it was “wet out”. I told him he said the rain just had to stop. He told me he never said that. We pointed out the sun and blue skies and he said the liability was too great due to the wet pavement. I said that there are frequent showers in the mountains, so when is it ever completely dry? He didn't answer me, but wryly smiled. I told him that the rangers were unaware of the rain policy and were shocked he wasn’t renting (again, blue skies out). He said the rangers were wrong and they often don’t rent when it’s wet out. By this time others had gathered and explained they had also planned their trip around the biking, the weather was good now, etc. etc. He wouldn’t budge. At some point the manager was asked for and one guy pretended to not be the manager (but then it was later discovered he was). Another guy came out and gave the same “wet policy” explanation. When a manager was asked for again he said that he had been directed by the manager to be the “bearer of bad news”. Finally the guy who had first said he wasn’t the manager came back out. Jack Hostetler (the manager, ??) then proceeded to go on a rant about why he wouldn’t rent bikes. The highlights included that the bikes were not good in the rain (why would you have such poor bikes in a mountain climate?), we would be endangering the lives of us and our children if we biked, liability was too much, bikes were rented for too cheap to be worth it, people refused to wear helmets (we said we’d wear them), people refused to walk their bikes down hills (we said we would walk). He was rude throughout this exchange. Bottom line, bring your bikes or rent elsewhere. The park should work with a bike rental company with better people skills and more invested in biking. If the bikes can't be ridden with a little moisture on the ground in a mountain environment, why are they in the bike rental business? With all that being said, don’t let this stop you from experiencing Cade’s Cove another way!

Perfect spot at perfect place as nothing else is nearby as a food option. They have sone ice creams too but didnt like the chocolate we tried much. But since it was already remote so this place helped killing the hunger a bit with nachos and queso. If you are at cades cove then visit this place.
