When you walk in you are immediately greeted by a warm and friendly staff that was very prompt with their service. The whole place gives off such a welcoming “family” vibe. It’s a cozy little atmosphere with indoor and covered outdoor seating. Also, noticeably clean facilities.I had the double patty wagyu burger, which they had on special, and it was absolutely delicious. It paired well with their “sidewinders” which were some of the best gourmet French fries I can remember having. The menu was surprisingly diverse with meat/fish/vegetarian options and milkshakes. This is a really family friendly spot. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and genuinely happy to help everyone.

First time visit, decided to check out the village store and the restaurant. The store had tons of souvenirs, snacks, yard flags, ice cream and more. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich, hot dog and fries from the restaurant and it was all really good. Great chicken salad. Perfect weather so we sat out on the porch to eat. Really nice place to stop as you're passing through the area.

I've been to this restaurant almost everytime we come up to the mountains and it's always been amazing but in the last year or so, they've bumped their game up even MORE! Fantastic food, clean environment, SUPER FRIENDLY staff and my new favorite, this cow that you get condiments from!!! Love this place!Kid-friendliness: You can bring your kids! Pretty self explanatory , lol

This was one of the cutest places we visited on our trip across Tennessee. The condiment cow at the restaurant was adorablea. The food was so good. We got chicken, chile, BBQ pulled pork, fries, and drinks. All delicious. Then we went to the outdoor store and on to the general store. It was a quaint little trip of shops and we will be back next year!

Had the most lovely visit to this wonderful cafe today. The young man working the counter is so well suited for customer service. He was helpful, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. His little line about the fish swimming to the table that he made to the patrons ahead of us was so clever. I appreciated him taking the time to show me the gluten free options available. I settled on a smash burger, as did my husband. Mine was on gluten free bread. The bread was delicious! I'd love to know where you source it from. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the overall atmosphere. This is a must stop if you're visiting "the quieter side of the Smokies".Dietary restrictions: They have many gluten free options and take extra care for those with an allergy as opposed to a preference.

Walking in, it was inviting and cheerful. Since it was our first time, it took a few minutes to look over the menu, they were very patient.. even as a line started behind us very quickly. My son got the cheeseburger… which was huge and delicious according to him. I got the bbq sandwich… Smokey and also delicious! The fries were one of a kind… super yummy! We sat outside, near the parking lot, which I thought would be weird, but it had a nice breeze, and we hardly noticed the cars.We will definitely return next time we’re through there!

This was a miss for us. First time coming here, and we drove over an hour to specifically eat here. The menu doesn’t specifically mention everything is separate, but sandwiches do not include fries, sidewinders or whatever they call them. We also weren’t offered or advise even after seeing us pondering the menu for a while. So after my wife and I spent 40.00 on two entrees and two drinks, we get our food and I get my sandwich. So I proceed to back to the counter where the person ringing me up was dismissive and very coldly stated it was ala cart. Okay, so I ANOTHER 6.86 for sidewinders. When they arrive moments later, they were barely above room temperature. We won’t be back, we won’t suggest this place, and I’m embarrassed that I took my wife here on a date.

Went to Apple Valley Cafe for lunch yesterday. The staff was very nice and helpful. You order in line and the food is brought out to your table. I got a smash burger and upgraded to wagu beef. The burger was very good and cooked perfectly. The brioche bun was super fresh and buttery. I upgraded my side to Chili and it was pretty good as well. I like onion and green pepper in my chili. My girl got a grilled chicken sandwich. She said it was good but a little dry. Her thick spiral fries were seriously good. I may get fries next visit. I had a cold Yee Haw dunkel beer. Nice dark and hoppy. The atmosphere is like an old axe cut cabin. Very cool inside. The condiment cow is hilarious and works very well. All in all it was a very good experience. I would go again and definitely reccomend a visit.

My food at Apple Valley was delicious! I will probably be back for more the next time I am in Townsend. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and understanding. I actually called ahead before I came to the restaurant to find out about gluten free options. The young woman on the phone was super nice and went through all my options without me even having to ask. She followed up by asking if I had any more questions and was very knowledgeable of the menu and what I was able to eat. Overall I am super grateful to have a good place to eat and great customer service. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread options.

Best restaurant ever. Everytime we come we have to stop here. It's my favorite place. I love the food so much and it's a good vibe. Now I want to go on a trip just to eat here. The Mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwiches are my favorite but the fries are so good too.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly we brought all 4 of our kids.

What a wonderful place to visit with your pet in Townsend!Staff was kind and welcoming to us bringing our puppy Sadie to the restaurant while we ate dinner. Sadie was treated with some pieces of cheese, and they brought out a bowl of water for her. Our food was exceptional, and just a great place to relax with your pup. We visit the area probably about once a year, so we will definitely be back on our next visit!

This out in the middle of nowhere is worth the drive. Super friendly staff. Thick juicy burgers and nomy fries. Get the Brisket!**edit** THEY DO BREAKFAST TOO. So worth the drive (9/16/2023)I will try the pimento cheese next time.Stopped in after swimming in the cold cold mountain streams and pulled in 15 minutes before closing. We asked if we could still place and order, because we know how it is to have to work late. The young girl who greeted us acted like it was no big deal. Actually the whole staff acted that way. Well except one girl. LOL our friend asked for sweet tea and the girl was like we are out and can't waste a whole pitcher at closing. BUT then another waiter, a guy said give me some unsweetened tea and I'll add sugar. Problem solved. The burger was juicy and thick. The bun soft and fresh. The lettuce was green and crispy. The gift shops are stuffed with naughty delicious sweet things. Get your mind out of the gutter, I'm talking about baked goods.Overall nothing I can or would complain about.Pros: the burgers, the super friendly staff, the desserts, the atmosphereCons: the locationVegetarian options: They have a veggie burger and other non-meat options.
