Update: Brenda, the housekeeping manager, called us about 1 1/2 hours after we departed to address our concerns. She was very friendly and appears to be genuinely trying to correct the issues.Not clean, but… The location and layout of the waterfront cottages are fantastic! When we arrived on Friday, we were greeted at the office by a very friendly young lady who checked us in. The kids at the dock store were just as friendly.I only gave it 3 stars because of the uncleanliness of the cabin. Granted we stayed at a campground, but for $249 a night I was hoping for clean dishes and floors without food encrusted on them. I am adding just a few pics of the filth we had to clean before cooking. Listing everything would be overkill.The pool is a great space, but yet again, it is not clean. We watched a worker come in a bit after 9:00 and swipe the top of the water with a net for all of less than 2 minutes.When I brought all of this to the lady in the office (not the same one from check in), I was met with complete indifference. So customer service in that area would receive a one star.

It has been a VERY long time since I have stayed here, but I just wanted to get on here & praise the owner for their VERY delightful demeanor & seemingly VERY sincere outreach to these recent guests & their less than flattering reviews here. I am impressed by their personal attention in responding here & their personal involvement & interest in what they do, as it is obvious they themselves are present on the property & remembered these guests. I BELIEVE THAT IS A WONDERFUL THING!!. It's not so common any more for owners to actually be operators too. So kudos on that to you!!. 😉I'm positive these people care & are addressing these concerns as I type this, if they haven't been already!.I wish everyone a very safe & fun Memorial Day Weekend & throughout the entire year!I wish I were there enjoying Buchanan Resort & all of the beauty & entertainment KY Lake has to offer, but unfortunately it has not been in the stars for it again this year..sigh.. So be thankful everyone for your ability to go enjoy time away from your every day stressors & norms, where you can relax, visit with friends & family, & let loose & recharge!Give Buchanan Resort's owner the opportunity to show you they mean what they say & that you can count on them to provide you with great accomidations & friendly, enthusiastic, & professional customer services!.I feel certain you will be glad you did!. Visited the marina. Employee helped dock our boat, and they had exactly what we were looking for. Nice cool a/c as well was an added bonus. Love this place and its people. Thanks again guys and gals.

I've never actually been inside the resort until memorial day weekend. A friend rents out one of the lodges and invited me along. Having the marina for the boats is quite nice for the weekend, because I usually have to trailer my boat to and from every day. Overall nice experience.

Two itemsFirstIf you have a boat with a lot of electronics on it. Stay away from the docks at Buchanan's. Stayed there in Spring of 2022 and had a constant problem charging my batteries as did others around me. My rig has a Min kota four bank charger which puts out 10 amps per bank. The circuit breakers at the docks are 20 amps for 5 to 6 boat slips. Simply not enough power for todays rigs. This was unexplainable to the dock woman and the night watch man who unpluged my boat because of the power it drew. My boat is a 2015 model and never had a problem before or after anywhere.SecondMy face was bitten twice when staying in I believe cabin 13. My doctor suspected bed bugs. Too early for mositoes that time of years.Why so long to review this,,,,,,,busy have time to do so on this plan ride.

The cabin was not up to par what we paid for it. We went with my parents for the weekend with our kids. The cabin was hot. The location was beautiful. The boat we rented was great. We had a lot of fun. However, the beds were very uncomfortable. There was mold in the bathroom and the floors were filthy. The wifi did NOT work all weekend. That should not be advised that they have wifi. The maid complained a lot about the kids in cabins(as we have kids in our as well) making messes and handprints on the windows when everyone left in other cabins. She was very unprofessional. The cabin was very outdated we were in. The maid lady stated to us it was the worst cabin they have that they rented to us. I personally wouldn’t go back and stay here myself. It’s overpriced and was definitely cooler outside than in the cabin.

i Love coming here!! Everyone is always very friendly. It is a great spot for a family or couple getaway. The staff always goes out of the way to help you with any of your needs. Also, the oak tree grill is delicious! Great safe, relaxing and clean environment.

Overall great place to stay. We pulled in around midnight on a Friday and there were several spots open. Campsites were plenty wide enough for my slide and awning. It was mostly quiet over night for being a weekend. The spots are in a low area so the WiFi signal was spotty at best. Spent most the time in campsite with no service but just meant I got to spend more time enjoying the time with my family. I would recommend a stay there and would probably return.

My kids have so much fun at the park and we all love the pool!!!This has been so much fun to be able to stay here at this lovely camp ground!!!Nearby activities: The park is a good place to let your kids play at!!The pool is a place we're your kids or family can relax or have some splashtastick fun!!!

I would give this resort a 4 star but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We have been coming since 1990 & still has the same mattresses! Its hard to enjoy yourself without a good nights sleep. The mattresses had plastic on them, made noise when when turning! PLEASE INVEST IN NEW MATTRESSES!! We will not be back until they are updated we stayed in cabins with decks

It was a nice quiet get away, but the cabins are out dated. The refrigerator barely kept food cold, it smelled very musty when we first got there as if no one had been in there for a very long time. There was a mouse running around. The furniture needs to be upgraded. Other then that it was a nice quiet place to enjoy time with family especially because there is little to no cell reception so if your trying to pry your kids away from their phones it's the place to be.

We love our family long weekend trips here. Can't complain. We usually get a cabin and spend plenty of time on the lake. Wifi could be a little bit better considering cell service is spotty but you are in a cabin and should enjoy the rest.

Stayed for a week this spring 2018. Very nice facility. Clean boat-friendly marina. We stayed in Waterfront Cottages. Well kept. Roomy. Daily maid service was very welcomed. This is our 3rd year in a row. We will be back. Fishing was tough for the first couple of days due to the crazy spring weather we have had. Our last full fishing day our top 5 fish exceeded 30lbs. All released healthy. So they are still out there...betting bigger I hope! The big Bass of the week went 7lbs 5ozs. Caught on a black plastic craw in about 3' of water.

Our extended family of 21 have been coming here every year since 2006! We split up into a couple cabins and stay a week. The atmosphere of this whole place is really relaxing and we always enjoy our stay. The cabins are great, the pool is clean and really nice, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a nice relaxing vacation.

We have camped here for the last 3 years, we usually stay for a month. We absolutely love it! Pam is wonderful she will go out of her way to help you, as will her husband Rusty. The grounds are great we love the pool being so close to us. You have access to paddle boards and kayaks. Having the convenience of the Oak Tree right there is great. Also, they have the best ice cream cones:) Its just really a great place to take your family to relax and enjoy.

It's a nice peaceful getaway. There's lots to do. The location is a short drive from many nearby places. The cottage we stayed in was outdated, but we spent most of our time outdoors anyway. They provided great customer service and the prices are very reasonable. We plan to go back with our whole family.

Stayed 2 nights in the motel with my mother and bf. A great place to get away and relax. Went to the Oak tree hill restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the food was good. The last night there we grilled right outside are room with a grill they provided. Also the view is breathtaking!

The refrigerator defrosted… all food ruined!! My little cousin was cut on hideaway and my one year old cut on a broken chair… I do have pictures of the food that was ruined and the girls scratches and cuts. The only thing nice about it was the pool. I left that night I could not stay there in that place. It needs updating you could not use one plug-in there was only 1/2 of a plug-in that worked and that was the one in the kitchen. Will not be going there again and they need to stop charging me because they’re not getting it we left at 9:00 PM after my kids started crying… NOPE

Our room had a perfect view.the only thing that I can suggest is more sitting area by each motel room.a man in one of the room's father had a motorized wheel chair the benches between his room and the two before had to be moved .we had no place to sit

We had heard the wifi was weak, but it was completely nonexistent. Nada! Well, if you had a room with a higher number closer to the source it may have worked, we had room 1 on the far end. They lied telling us it was down, but it clearly worked the closer you got to the offices. At no time did anyone apologize. There was no way to find what the town had to offer with no internet. Also, no mobile service, we have great phones so that wasn't the issue. We booked a 4 night stay, but only stayed 1. We literally had to just leave the next morning with no idea where to stay next since surfing or calling were not options. This dead zone made it impossible to book somewhere else until you reached civilization. We were just glad to get out. The room was dirty and dated. The walls were thin so we heard every noise coming from the parking lot. No phone in our room. And the A/C was loud and barely kept the room cool in mild temps. The restaurant was also closed, but was only mentioned on the blog section of their website instead a place you would normally see it. Ruined what was supposed to be a 4 day wedding anniversary. Never again!
