This TVA campground is a great place to stay if you’re into fishing, kayaking or lazing about. Not so much if you’d like cycling or hiking as there’s no place to go. No hiking nearby to speak of and the roads are too narrow and menaced by logging trucks going to and from the paper mill across the river. Did I mention the paper mill? It’s noisy but the big problem is the stink. If the wind is wrong it makes your eyes water. That said, the people running the campground are great and keep the nice bath houses spotless. Hot water in the sinks! What luxury. Sites are spacious and level but they’re so irregularly spaced that in some sites you’re right on top of your neighbors.

Beautiful campground. Campground was very clean and well kept. The bathrooms were spotless. The campground hosts were very nice, friendly and easy to talk to. Situated right next to the Tennessee river with a public boat launch right across from the campground. Lots of fishing opportunities from the bank or along the walk just below the damn. Had a great three day fishing and camping experience.

We stopped in for one night and found this to be a wonderful spot. We arrived without reservation and the host was great putting us in a site with a view of the river. The bathrooms were very clean and the sites all looked level and well equipped. The pulp mill created some white noise for. sleeping and didn't;t take away from the visit.

I really hate to write this…because then too many people will find out about it! This is an awesome campground. The manager, Justin, is so welcoming and helpful. He keeps that place spotless. The bathrooms were so nice and VERY CLEAN. There were not a lot of folks there as it was mid week, which made it even more awesome. Can’t say enough good things about it! I’ll be back!Nearby activities: The Tennessee river was right there a stones throw from my spot. It was so gorgeous.Walkability: Just a beautiful place to take a stroll.

We stay here often. Love the atmosphere and the friendliness of the camp staff. Campground is well maintained. We had our grandson with us this trip and I believe he met just about everyone in the campground. Definitely one of our go to campgrounds just for a break away from home. Glad it is close to home! Can’t wait for the next trip. Only thing I wish was different is that the sites offered sewer hookup.. but the staff are there to dump for a minimal fee a couple of days per week! Very pleased each time we go!

This was our second trip here and we enjoyed it. It is a quiet campground that allows for plenty of space for your family and your pets. The sites are spacious and come equipped with table, grill, and fire ring with grill attachment. The campground is very well taken care of by the park staff. The staff are always friendly and willing to help with any questions. Will definitely be back again to visit.

Check in was so easy, the lady at office was so helpful and nice. The whole camp ground was very clean and well maintained. The shower house was clean. I was a little reluctant about going but I am so glad we did , will be back again. There are good restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking. I highly recommend this campground.

Update, the new reservation system is not as user friendly as the old system. Even Campspot was not able to help with applying my America the Beautiful pass. The pictures of camp spots are not accurate, they are using generic pictures, for example 36, 37 has a tree at the end of the pad. And it doesn’t show them, this could be a problem when booking some sites. And the ones at Douglas dam tail water aren’t accurate either. This is a nice campground. It’s in much better shape from the last time I stayed. The grass was cut and fire pit and grill was clean. There is a wonderful host there named Charlie, he will help you with anything you need.
