First important note...this is a no kill shelter. The workers there are dedicated and attentive to each animals needs. Always fresh water for animals. Excellent dog runs for each dog and igloo dog house for proper sheltering! It's also a great place to volunteer. They are dedicated to finding proper shelter for animals not at the shelter as well. If you are interested in adopting a pet but not sure, you can foster a dog or cat. And all supplies will be provided such as kennel, dog food, bowls, etc. You can foster a weekend or a week or as long as you like.

I wanted Stone so bad to give him a better life about 3 years ago. We literally live next door to this rescue. We were denied and Stone is still there. We had just gotten a Cane Corso before this inquiry. We have since added a Boston Terrier. They are on 10 all the time wanting to play. Stone was advertised at that time as good with children, dogs, cats, etc. We were denied because we didn't have our fenced in area yet that we were working on. We got that done the very next weekend as explained in the home check.

FCAR are angels in the work that they do. Rescuing animals and working hard to get them homes. I love that they are a no kill rescue and do everything to save from kill shelters in the county. I send everyone looking for an animal to them because they do love and care for the animals in their care.

We adopted our boy Ash, from Fayette County Animal Rescue, and they were amazing from start to finish and even after! Transport was smooth, and the drivers kept us updated the whole way from Tennesse to Connecticut. I highly recommend adopting from these fine folks! They genuinely care about the animals they are caring for and adopting out. They make sure your home is suitable for pets, and offer advice in advance.

Best place to adopt a kitten/cat or puppy or dog. They truly care about the animals and do their best to help abandoned or abused animals. I love fostering for them. And I'm a two time foster fail! My kitties are precious.

We got our puppy through here. Everyone was so kind and helpful! They made sure our puppy was a perfect fit for our family! We live in Indianapolis, and they were able to get our pup to us with no issues and constant contact. Definitely recommend!!!

The staff is very knowledgeable about the needs of their specific animals and does an awesome job of placing them in the best home. The animals are very well taken care of & loved. The facility is nice and it's super clean. We are so happy with the adoption of our little girl!!

We needed help finding Blue's owners and they jumped right in and helped. They drove out and checked for a chip, posted all over social media with pictures but in the end we could not find his family, we adopted Blue and he is a happy boy.

Over several years as our long term pets have passed on we have adopted two dogs an a cat. All have fit in with us and our existing pets at the time. The staff and volunteers at FCAR are great to work with.

We can't say enough good things about FCAR. Gina is a true champion for these animals. We now have the most amazing dog because they took a chance on a pitbull mix that is deaf. They were dedicated to this diamond in the rough who is truly a match made in heaven for us. Now my deaf husband has a extremely well behaved deaf dog that he has bonded with for a lifetime.

I was accepted for adoption but was then denied for one of that cats I wanted to adopt because the foster mom said I "didn't seem interested" in the cat. The same foster mom that was telling me I should look into adopting another cat during the cat visit. I still can't believe that they'd turn away a new volunteer that was already approved for their own rescue because of the foster mom's outrageous opinions.

I've volunteered, donated, and adopted from many rescue groups over the years and FCAR is one of the absolute best. The amount of work they put in to taking care of their animals, finding appropriate foster and forever homes, and championing animal welfare causes is nothing short of amazing.If you can't adopt, foster.
