I would give it one star ONLY because I hate to hear all the baby's crying, needing homes so it's HORRIBLE for them.But everyone was so nice when I took in a dog that was dumped at my mom's house. staff care more about goofing off in the lobby then working. very rude and inconsiderate. turn down animals even if you walk back and cages are empty. always asking for donations but they have a hall way full of dog food they give away to people? only two people work there that actually care. they hire anyone and everyone no matter the back ground or problems those people have.

They do their best with what they have. Nice employees. We adoped a puppy and a kitten. Its been about 5 months with the puppy and a month with the kitten and they are both happy and healthy.

Everyone was very friendly. The shelter was clean and so many pets available. I wish I could of brought several of them home with me. If you're looking for a forever love go adopt from there.

It's a animal shelter but they can't take any animals in. I've been trying to get rid of 4 pups for little over a month. All I keep getting is we'll put them on our website, but can't take them. I worked there for 2yrs, some years back. We never turned any animals away we made room for them. Nothing like it used to be. So what do people do with animals they can't afford to keep? That's why there is such a big problem with animals getting dumped out on back roads.

My wife works here. She and the other employees are very passionate about what they do. Ive seen several lost animals be reunited with there family here. They really go the extra mile here. Ask for Haleigh and she won't stop until your lost pet is found.

Adopted this sweet boy from the shelter in January! He is the biggest love bug and they cared for him since he was born until we got him. You can tell Sandy really loves the animals that are there. Sylas (aka Jackson) really loved the staff there.

We adopted two puppies from the Humane Society. The staff and volunteers were great. We communicated through facebook as well. We even got a huge box of treats and toys to take with us. we plan on taking them back there to get their rabies vaccines too.

My 12 year old cat died two weeks ago. So I went to Hawkins County Humane to look at cats and liked a young Calico so much that I am fostering to adopt her.If I ever win the lottery I would build a nice new shelter for Hawkins County Humane. The people are so nice and take great care of the animals.But this rural county needs to start to fund this shelter instead of throwing away taxpayers money on the frivolous interests of the county executives.Time to support this facility and the great people helping the animals in their care.

Awesome,carrying people . They have yard sales to help with cost to run and it's not expensive . They will also answer any questions you have and they give shots to dogs 5 . They are amazing cants 10 dollar adoption fee

I have been trying to give some medical supplies such as tubing, heparin, sodium chiloride flushes, alcohol prep pads and such to this facility. There was some time needed for us to connect by phone. When they were able to return my call we arranged to get the supplies to them. Living and working together as a community is what we as people should strive to accomplish.

We got our sweet little girl here. They were very responsible when helping look for a perfect fit to our family. We even did a meet and greet with our other dog to see how well he responded to them and vice versa. So glad they try to do well for their animals.

This is a no-kill shelter that will not euthanize due to lack of space. The workers at this facility go above and beyond to care for unwanted and abandoned animals. The community as a whole should really show more support for this organization. If only everyone would spay and neuter their pets, and stop buying puppies from backyard breeders perhaps the need for an animal shelter would be no more. Thank you, to all of those at the Hawkins county humane society. It takes special people to do what you do.
