This is one of those institutions of the neighborhood. Servers were very friendly and food was ok. But it took 40 minutes to get our food. With no explanation until the food arrived. "Big to-go order and a large party in the back room." Which we could not see from our table. Gravy was thin and so were the grits. Food was only warm. We will be back but it will take another few years or so.

The lunch menu was good, our first visit earlier this week we were excited to try their breakfast but apparently were just late to order. We returned several days later 30 minutes before the menu stated time to end breakfast to find we apparently do not know the secret handshake to actually order as the server looked arbitrarily at the clock and told us that today their menu is merely a suggestion (while delivering breakfast to other tables) and that breakfast ordering ended seconds before she arrived to our table. Then suggested we return this weekend when perhaps they may decide to allow breakfast to be ordered. Will not visit again

Food was excellent and service was fast and friendly but something odd happened. We ordered burgers and onion rings, and we had driven twenty miles, one way, to try this particular meal. Our server said, "I'm sorry but we don't serve onion rings on Saturdays. Would you like fries?" I found that sooo peculiar... and arbitrary but I agreed to fries and waited for my food. While eating an excellent burger and very good fries, a couple in the booth behind ours ordered burgers with onion rings. His server (a different server) wrote his order down and walked away. I continued eating, expecting his server back, any minute, to tell him that, as is their practice, he would not be having onion rings with his burger since it was Saturday. Is Saturday a Latin word for 'serve no deep-fried onions'? I kept eating, anticipating his disappointment when he got the bad news, then there she came, as I felt certain she would, carrying a lovely plate with a big burger and a mound of crunchy onion rings. 😐😑 WTH? Is there a secret password I'm unaware of? I'll go back because the breakfast menu looks yummy but I'll have my eyes on that server. 😔

Really enjoyed my homemade potato soup and grilled cheese! The coconut cream pie was also amazing! Very nice folks in there too!! I eat there whenever I go to Oak Ridge! If you haven't eaten there, you should definitely give it a try!!

This place has been around a very long time, and it totally looks that way. Don't let this deter you. I had one of the best blt sandwiches I've ever eaten here. I LOVED the chocolate milkshake, it's delicious! The onion rings are really tasty also. There's nothing really spectacular about the menu offerings, but the food is good and the service is friendly and prompt. The bathrooms are old and could use a bit of cleaning. If I am in town I'd definitely stop and grab a shake as a special treat, because I've kinda been dreaming about it. This said, I'm not sure this would be a destination eating place....it might be a one and done.

I had breakfast at Jefferson Soda Fountain on a recent Friday morning. Got there around 9 am and the tables were nearly all taken. I had the Breakfast Special (eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy) and coffee. The food was straightforward, nothing fancy, but it looked good and tasted even better. Despite the place being very busy, it wasn't too loud. The waitress was attentive and I tipped her accordingly.

Love this little restaurant.Great mom/pop style food and place of nostalgia,;that is off the beaten path.I have eaten here twice and both experiences were amazing.Typically, I would have rated 5 stars but the portions for both dining experiences (Breakfast and lunch) have been small each time, but I will definitely continue to stop in each time I pass through.

A great little country restaurant serving classic breakfast staples like eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. We sat ourselves at a booth, and were promptly greeted. The meal was hearty and we definitely didn't leave hungry. Had the deluxe burger and was excellent. Just the right sizeNot a small, thin thawed patty, but well prepared. Servers were friendly and attentive. My friend and I are both over 80 years old and were shown patience and kindness. Much appreciated!

Some elements of the meal were ok. Mostly no, though. We had to sit at a table that was 2 tables kinda put together. It was surrounded by pure chair chaos that we were climbing and tripping over to sit down.We ordered and picked up burgers to-go a year ago and they were alright so we thought we'd give it another go.
