I have been coming to the Critter for about 4 years now, either just browsing or buying aquarium supplies and fish. I have to say that they have always been accommodating and resourceful for any questions that I may have. Their fish stock is full of variety and always healthy. We always enjoy looking at the reptiles as well whenever we make a trip and every once in a while, we even get an opportunity to see one up close. I don’t know who this gentleman in the photo is, but he is patient and extremely friendly and I cannot thank him enough for this experience. I highly recommend them for all your critter needs, and feel free to use these photos!

This store is amazing. I started coming here after seeing a post about it in a fish group online and I'm so glad I did. Massive selection of fish (fresh and salt water) and plants that you can't find in other stores. They also keep their bettas in actual filtered (and I'm assuming heated) cubes instead of a dirty cup! Employees are knowledgeable and are able to answer any questions you may have. You can also get medicine here that you can't find at large chain stores. It's a bit if a drive for me but I never fail to come here at least once a week.

Purchased a mature female regal jumper and she is so beautiful and curious. She has since laid me an egg sac that appears to be fertile so please be aware that if you get a jumping spider, they could have been caught from outside and sold (not suggesting aquatic critter personally is going outside and spider hunting lol). This wasn’t a problem for me but definitely be aware of that! This shop has a GREAT selection and it has become my favorite local reptile shop in Middle TN so far! Constantly resisting the urge to add another jumper to the family lol 😆Edited to add: the babies hatched! So yep definitely wild caught sourced!

We had a wonderful experience while purchasing our Axolotl. We came in with zero knowledge or experience and the staff was able to get us set up and answer all of our questions. We are 4 months in and our Axolotl is growing like a weed and doing great! 100% recommend!

Very knowledgeable and kind staff. The place was very clean with nice tanks and plenty of options to choose from. We picked up a Christmas present, but if I decided to get a tank, I would go hear before anywhere else.

Great place full of friendly people and a huge stock of fresh salt and coral. Prices may be a bit higher, but I'm ok with it since it supports a cool place in my community and a good group of employees who are always busting their buts to help you. It's worth a visit. Stop looking at reviews and just go see for yourself. They also have a reptile store next door. with a huge selection of snakes, spiders, etc. The reptile section has a very handsome door greeter.

If they weren't so helpful, knowledgeable, and polite; they would be reliant on the good prices and selection to lure people in. The animals are vibrant and healthy, they have really competitive pricing. My daughter wanted a frog. She had done her research, but there are some things you can only learn from a pet owner. The staff were polite, helpful, and they really explained everything to her. There were plenty of associates available so we were helped immediately. Thank you for a great experience.

This fish store is AMAZING. Hands down, the best LFS I’ve ever been to. The fauna selection is vast, everything from neocaridina shrimp to Florida Gar. The plant selection is great for low-tech tanks and the coral selection left little to be desired. They were out of many of their listed frags, but hey, could’ve been a busy week. I would highly recommend this store to anyone that is interested in anything aquatic. The hardware section has a plethora of items as well, both fresh and salt. The food selection, though I forgot to take a picture, was absolutely bananas as well. Some would call this fish store ridonkulous. I am some.

This place is amazing. They have so many fish and reptiles. My son was looking for some stuff for his aquarium and found some of the neatest orange dwarf Mexican lobsters. They are only about an inch long and are so cute. They have pretty much anything you could need for your animals. The staff was very knowledgeable about everything in the store and they were very busy. I woukd recommend stopping in to see them while in Nashville.

Jake is do knowledgeable and friendly. Literally reason we don't mind driving the hour there. We know he will coach us and teach us so we make the right fish mate choices. He is awesome! The guys in the reptile shop have a great attitude! Went in for crickets and horn worms and they had me cracking up! Phenomenal customer service!

Not even a pet but a wild striped skink that was in the grass while we were mowing the lawn… accidentally got it in the head with the mower and it seemed lethargic and had a wound so we came straight here because we couldn’t find any other resources nearby. Weirdly there are not many services for injured wildlife nearby.They provided advice on what to do to help the poor thing, cleaned the wounds, great people who care about the animals. No charge, gave great advice, helped clean wounds and just a few hours later she is out sunbathing with her mate and scurrying around. I saw that the guy applied betadine and happened to have some at home so some hours later I reapplied to prevent infection. Really great folks over here. They showed great care to the little skink, and quickly identified it as female because the males usually have a red hue to their head at this age, which she did not, and when we got back, we noticed that there was one with a red hue on his head waiting/looking for her in the area.So glad they were able to do triage on this little lizard and help it because we felt god awful about hitting the poor thing with the mower. Also so glad the lizard was savable because at first it seemed very lethargic, but now it’s scurrying around quickly with its mate and very active. I don’t know much about them, but it almost seems like the mate is watching out for the injured one.Will reapply antiseptic betadine if I see it needing it and will monitor to make sure the lizard is okay. We don’t have money for a vet or animal care solutions so we are thankful for the compassion of this establishment.Best service I’ve gotten from any facility of the sort. And the people who work there know their stuff and handle the animals well, with compassion and expertise. Seriously, hats off to the gentlemen who helped us out with this little one.I’m an animal lover and could not bear to see even a wild lizard suffer so I was quite dizzy after seeing the wound (which I never got a very close look at, for this exact reason) and luckily it’s back to full activity and I think I know where its burrow is so I can check on it. I didn’t even know these animals burrowed, luckily the guys working there were very informative.I’m super glad I came here instead of being lost searching for answers on the web, it’s actually coincidental that I even remembered this place existed. I don’t own any reptiles or fish but my boyfriend told me he checked this place out on a whim because we have considered a reptile or small rodent since I do school from home and get lonely. Seriously these people rock, and know their stuff; I 100% recommend them as a shop. My case was a bit weird but they still helped the little friend to the extent they could, gave great advice, and genuinely cared.

A great store for both aquatic and reptilian needs and pets! The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly, and will walk around actively asking if you require assistance or have any concerns or how to set things up. There is such a variety and is a great place to explore and learn, or ask for advice if you need anything. Their prices are very reasonable and comparable to other pet stores, and they have a great selection as well!

Seriously great fish store. What a gem to have so close by. I’m starting my new fish tank and have been leaning heavily on the staff here for info and guidance.I have gotten their recommendations on everything from substrate choice, plant choice, food/fertilizer choice, fish choices. They will test your water and inform you based on your water.Very well staffed too. I never have to wait for a staff member to be free. Super happy with this place.

I have to say this place is amazing. This is based on not just one experience, but many over the years and all. Where do I start… the staff! Always willing to help and VERY knowledgeable, and if they don’t know something they will still try to seek out an answer. They actually make me feel welcome. I’m speaking mostly for the aquatic side as I do not own any reptiles. I have had many different freshwater aquariums along with 6 months into my first saltwater. The cleanliness of their store and tanks are great! You can see they actually care about the well being of their animals. Every fish and coral that I have bought from them have been extremely healthy. They are also good at knowing what products to recommend to me for what I need. They are a little on the high side of pricing, but still very worth paying for the quality and quantity of experience they provide. If you are just starting out, or have years of experience under your belt, or even just going to admire pretty fish, this is the place to go. I drive over an hour out of my way, even over my own Local fish stores, just to go to this one. If I could I would give this store a 10/5. I used to be a manager at Petsmart and This is the store I would recommend for people to go to. I can’t say thank you enough to all the guys that have went out of their way to help me. I’m not one to do reviews, but I just wanted to give you guys an extra shout out for all you do. Below are just a few pictures of my livestock. I recently bought a bi color blenny and flame angel and they have been thriving and healthy.

Fairlyarge decent fresh & saltwater fish to choose from. I absolutely loved some of the tanks in there! They have nice tanks for sale that I have not saw at other stores. Definitely will come back to this store next time we're in this area!

Purchased Bob the pastel boa a few weeks ago. He was very well taken care of! The inside is alot cleaner than it use to be and the staff is very knowledgeable.

Absolutely the best fish, aquarium, freshwater, saltwater store that you can ask for! Plus they have an adjacent reptile store with snakes, chameleons and much more! I was impressed with their fair prices but what impressed me most was how clean everything was! Their variety of fish and plants was impressive. After looking at their systems I decided to rethink my own. I don't think I've ever seen such beautiful tanks set up. Their tank lighting systems were works of art they were so beautiful. I can't wait to go back and shop their beautiful selections again!!!

Solid fish store. If you need something. There's a good chance they have it or can get it for you. Huge selection of saltwater freshwater and a reptile store. Run by people who seem to actually care about the animals they keep.

All of the employees here know their stuff. Every question we asked was answered. Absolutely enjoyed our experience here and we ended up bringing home our Calico ball python. Definitely recommend for new or experienced reptile owners.

This place was so cool!! I traveled 3 hours from Louisville to come check out their dart frogs and ended up coming home with these beautiful babies! The guys up front helped me pick out a pair and even picked out the more “social” ones of the group for me!! They handled the 3 hour trip back home like CHAMPS and are thicc and healthy as ever!! 100% recommend checking this place out even if it is to just look around the store was so well kept and had tons of really cool species!

My roommate and I have many tanks from saltwater to nano coral tanks , nano shrimp tank, and large freshwater community tanks that r planted. We always have a great experience and the staff r knowledgeable and friendly. We go in at least 3-4 times a week. We love it there. I've been in the hobby for over 30 years and I always learn something new. Plus the prices are great .

3 yes ago we bought a baby lepeord gecko and all the supplies and they were helpful and we still have a happy healthy lizard today. This weekend we came for Axolotl supplies and purchased babies and can't speak highly enough about the assistance they gave and information to help us care for our new pets.
