We recently had water damage due to our refrigerator. Calling Farrer Bros. was the best decision we could have made. Their response time was amazing, and all of their workers were completely professional. They arrived exactly when they told us and provided a daily timeline for demolition, repairs, and restoration. I have never had such a wonderful response. David Wilson coordinated every moment and was exceptional in every way. We are very grateful for him and his team.

Above all— their customer service and friendliness is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Never have I ever asked for something, without the team member going above and beyond! They are so helpful, so welcoming, and busy as bees inside this hardware store! I will drive out of my way to be sure that this is the only hardware shop I visit.Customer service is EVERYTHING! Fatter Bros team members go 10 miles past above and beyond. The one time that they just so happened to be out of what I needed, the employee that was working the screws, nuts, and bolts section— realized they did not have stock in the particular screw size/type that I needed and he took it upon himself to go to the desk and find somewhere HIMSELF that not only carried what I needed, but got me the price of the item and address and phone number. I didn’t ask him to do that. Nothing was mentioned. After reality set in that they were out of that particular screw, he said “Gimme just a minute” and turned away and I followed him to the counter. After the third phone call he had success. This guys wasn’t just being super friendly to me— he was super friendly to the other hardware store over the phone as well!I can not say anything but great things about these guys! Thanks!

I came to this store to rent a small tool. They take your drivers license number, your address, and phone number, your credit card and this is standard practice anywhere you go. I accept that… but they want your full social security number! Not just the last 4 digits but your complete SS number. This is unacceptable! Even forms don’t ask for anything but the last 4 digits because they can track you with just the last four digits and your drivers license. With today’s rate of identify theft this is unacceptable. They need to get with the 21 century! I refused to give my full SS number and they refused to rent me the small tool. Crazy!! Go somewhere else!

My husband and I went mid afternoon to this hardware store. It was a couple minutes before an employee showed up to help. The cashier was busy talking with someone and never acknowledged we were standing there. We were in search of replacement brackets for an outdoor wrought iron glider. My husband showed the employee the bracket we brought with us. “We don’t have those you might go to a furniture store, was the comment we got. Then I asked if they had replacement parts for Paul Revere tea kettles. Same employee says “what is that?” I repeated myself. “Those copper things?” I said no mines not copper just silver colored made by Paul Revere. No we don’t have that. About that time another employee walked up and said “Where do you think you are - Ace Hardware?” I said nothing. My husband said I know where I am. This second employee just stood there staring at us. I’m not really sure what the Ace Hardware comment meant. We needed a part for our grill but with the reception we received and the smart comments we got, we left. Never a thank you, sorry we don’t have what you need, nothing. My written description of this encounter really does not convey the weird, hateful attitude of these two employees. It was an awkward, unpleasant encounter. It Is our LAST encounter. We will never go back there.

Called to rent a skid steer. They said they had one left and one trailer left. I told them I'd be right there to get it. I rush over and am them 10 minutes later. I go to the counter to get the rental and they lady said the guy in front of me just rented the last trailer. Never going to use this place again. Wasted my time.

Should’ve came here sooner. Great staff and they have anything and everything I have ever needed on a job. I prefer Farrer bros over the big box stores in town. Update 4/2/22Man I really wanted to keep my 5 star review. But the issues I had with them today were HORRIBLE! Had my pressure washer repaired by BRUCE. He told me it was “FIXED AND READY TO GO”. I go pick it up , show up to a job site only to have my pressure washer not work as it should.Called Farrer brothers only to get hung up by BRUCE TWICE!! After exposing to BRUCE the issue I was having. BRUCE later tells me “ just take it somewhere else then I’m not going to fool with it”HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I didn’t think it was fair to get charged AGAIN for something that wasn’t thoroughly checked before it left the shop.Then I talk to STEVE who is the “owner” who also showed an attitude of not caring much about my problem that THEY created for me on giving me a machine that didn’t work properly. STEVE then tells me “bring it back, but if I see something else wrong with it I’m going to charge you again”First off shouldn’t BRUCE have checked it the first time thoroughly?? SECOND why should I get charged again for something THEY DIDNT DO RIGHT??HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! And I really wanted to give this local shop my business going forward.FARRER BROTHERS ISNT BROTHERLY.

I just called asking for information on renting a piece of equipment. I was actually sent to them by another local rental service and they were extremely nice. But I was transferred to the rental desk here and got a rude woman. "I'm looking to rent a spray rig and I was wondering if you had any for rent""No! Thank you!" And goes to hang up the phone..."Wait, do you know anyone who may have one for rent in the area?""No" then she hangs up on me. Worst I have ever been treated on the phone by any customer service person. Really a shame considering the company I called before them was extremely nice and even recommended them without me asking when they didn't have what I was looking for. I will never use them for anything now, which is a shame considering how often I need equipment.

My sister-in-law requested I assemble her grill. The hardware packet somehow got lost. We took a few parts with us into Farrer Brothers Hardware. Billy asked if he could help. He patiently found every bolt, washer and screw we would need to complete the build. Great service! Thanks again Billy!

I always get propane here for my food truck, Bruce is always very helpful and quick to take care of everything, along with his crew. Best hospitality, the ladies inside are wonderful and friendly.

I picked up some lawn care and garden items yesterday. A much better experience than the big box stores. I was greeted as I walked in, someone asked me if I needed help with anything. I easily found what I needed. Parking is close which is much different than the big box stores and you can talk with someone who knows about hardware items. I recommend Farrer Bros Hardware if you are in the Murfreesboro area.

You couldn’t ask for a better tool rental company! While we had a piece of equipment break on a Saturday, on of the Farrer’s came out to see if he could fix it. Sadly he couldn’t, but at 7:30 am in Monday his master mechanic was here and had it going in an hour so we could finish their work. They’re equipment is always in great shape and the level of customer service is always been top notch for us. We will continue to support this local company.

The service at this location is awful. Each time I've been in there I wait in line for an exceptionally long time to rent. The new staff are kind but don't handle the rentals. Each time I've called to speak with a representative in the rentals department I've had rude interactions that have left me feeling unwanted as a customer. They have fine equipment but seem as if they have no desire to rent it. The picture below was when I hung up while waiting to get a quote on a rental. Thanks but I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

I am a wounded vet and was repairing my flag pole. When this great company found out that I was going to be needing a crane to help repair the pole they generously loaned the machine free of charge. I highly recommend this company to any and all people. And i am very thankful to them.

I saw the bad reviews on here today and wanted to make sure that everyone knows that we have been getting A+ service here for over 10 years.

Twice in the last year I have called to try and rent equipment from Farrar Brothers. In both cases the older lady that answered the phone was extremely rude.I told her I was calling about renting a mini-excavator or a Dingo. She responded “which one, those are totally different” I stated I had rented a Dingo in the past. She said $150 a day and something extra about a trailer. I asked if I could bring my own trailer which is a dual axle car trailer. She said the shop would have to approve the trailer. I asked if that could be done in the spot or was there some other process. She said “I can’t tell you if you trailer is approved over the phone or not”. I told her that was not what I asked and she hung up on me.I clearly was interrupting her day. Save your time and blood pressure. Go somewhere else

First I stood in line for about 15 minutes while one woman was helping someone else and the other was drinking her coffee. Woman drinking her coffee told me in a rude tone that I had to return the equipment to the dock before she could check it in (I was not aware of that). The only open dock was crowded with other vehicles loading equipment so I couldn't back in and had other employees laughing at me because I was concerned about hitting something. Finally got to the dock, they opened the tailgate and unloaded and walked away with my tailgate open. Then after 5 minutes came back and said, "ummm go get your receipt and check out." Well, I can't go with an open tailgate! They treated me like a dumb woman that didn't know what she was doing and had no business being there. Will not be returning. Thank you Farrer Bros. for making me look and feel stupid.

Ok guys, how much more do you need to make a change with the lady that answers the phone in rentals, surely there is something else she should be doing other than interacting with customers. I'm sure she is very nice but comes across as rude, abrasive, condescending, not nice and in general does not communicate as though she is glad you called. It is actually quite the opposite, she acts like you are bothering her. Please find this dear woman something she can be successful at

I have been associated with using Farrer brother's for 10 years as I work for habitat for Humanity in Rutherford County. Their partnership with habitat is very much appreciated. They are always going the extra mile to help us achieve our goal no matter what the situation is. They do great works of service and the community.

Extremely poor customer service and they don't know how well any of their tools work. I rented an electric jack hammer from them three times for the same job. The first two times I got the same one. It was a Bosch brand. It seemed to be taking a long time and not doing as much as I thought it would. The last time I got a different one and it tore the concrete up like nobody's business. Makita brand. I told them that if I would have had the Makita the first time I probably would have had the job done in just a few hours instead of having to come back two more times and they just looked at me like I was stupid and walked away. I highly recommend spending the extra few dollars and renting from Home depot.
