The way Big Lots used to be about 30 years ago, with lots of actual, random closeouts and seconds. It's a hodgepodge but there are real deals. Checkout staff is excellent.

I visit this place mainly for their bin sales, it's like the former gimme a 5, you find the Amazon returns some exciting some not so much.

🔴 FALSE ADVERTISING 🔴they had a sign that said 12 pack of coconut milk for $1.29. We checked with an employee who was in that area, and she said it was correct. We loaded up these heavy boxes of cans. Got to the checkout and a different employee, named Katylynn I believe, rang up one of the boxes, saw the price, and said it was wrong. I showed her this picture of the sign. She went to talk to another associate for a couple of minutes and came back. She admitted the mistake and offered us each box for $7.50 (half off of $15) instead of the advertised $1.29 - we told her no. I said I don’t know why you’d have a sign that says 12 pack for 1.29 and have it listed that way in the computer too if that’s not the price. She had no comment. We’ll be going to the other location in town. They’ve never done us this way.EDIT AFTER RESPONSE:I did email you at that address right after i posted this review. I haven’t gotten any response other than marketing material. Thanks.

This place is pretty sweet. I’ve only went twice and both times I end up spending money on something because it catches my eye. Got a $80 Coleman sleeping bag for $30 and even a $25 tool bag for $8! Can’t beat the hidden gyms inside this place.

Let’s start with the prices are great compared to other box stores. The store on a 5 star score is a 2 for being very messy. A bunch of advertised items were not available. That’s the reason for the three star vote. The store was although fun to shop at.

It's a pretty good store for some cheap items and the staff is great. It is a little dirty near the Amazon package area and it's far too hot in there to be comfortable. I'd recommend shorts and a t shirt.

Being new to the area, I had never been to this store. I had a great shopping experience and could have bought the store out if I had the cash. Great experience and I even liked the discount bins.

I am a regular Bargain Hunt shopper. On my last visit to the Mercury Blvd location, I was quite impressed. They have really cleaned and organized this location. If I didn't know better, I would not have known it was a discount store. You are quickly reminded by the low prices. Keep up the great work. It really shows you are investing in this location.

I go in looking for a few things, I come out with a buggy full, love shopping there and getting such good buys, also one of the managers (Joe) really takes care of his customers and keeps a nice neat store!

Messy. Not gross, just disorganized. Good for the person who doesn't mind digging around to find a good deal. They usually announce sales on Friday's and honestly the sales are hit and miss. Sign up for the emails so you know ahead of time if the sale is good or not. I have seen pricing mistakes (marked too high) and asked an associate and they adjusted the price for me.

They are a great clearance and overstock type business. They have selections of pretty much every type of big box dept store items, just fewer of each. If you're looking for home items and outdoor decor, they have a good quality small selection.

I found an item on clearance. The sign stated 25% off the lowest ticketed price. When arriving at the register I was charged the price on the ticket. I showed them their sign and the MOD stated well our sign is wrong. No trying to make it right or even being nice. Needless to say they got to keep their item.

The employees are the bright spot here. The product value was MUCH better back in the day when it was Essex. You can still find some decent value in clothing, but items such as electronics, sporting goods, or home items are now WAY overpriced for returned/damaged goods. I used to buy every time I went to Essex, but rarely buy now.

This place use to be great. We went to days ago to look through baby items. They had absolutely nothing and what the did have was extremely over priced. Small box of huggies was $32( $2 more than target). The compare at price they had on there was $73 haha. They are ripping people off. This is my second child and have never ever seen a $72 box of diapers. Not even organic. Just stay away!!!!! They won't last much longer with those prices

Love to visit and shop this location. But, there is always the same nice cashier up front with no help. i don't understand. there are several others walking around the last couple of weeks that i have been Christmas shopping. The lines get long and then they will send some help. With the holidays there should be 2 cashiers. thank you

They have a variety of things from clothes, shoes, swimwear etc. To furniture, comforter & bed sets, rugs, toys, even outdoor furniture & above grounds pools, etc. Its new items & as their name says it's a "Bargain Hunt". I will definately go again.

I loved this place!It is a big store,so we were there for quite a while.They have a little bit of EVERYTHING!They carry food items,toys,housewares.From aisle to aisle you just don't know what you will find.They had great prices and I left with a buggy full.One fun find was a 12 inch high flamingo that lit up in neon pink. 2 bucks.I got new door mats and a kitchen mat and grabbed a bag of Pepperidge Farm Milano Chocolate Orange cookies.This is a great place to browse in and save lots of moneyThe store staff was friendly and helpful and I can't wait to go back again the next time I am in the area.
