The veterinarians and nurses are all so great. They really love and care about all the animals, and it shows. I have a rescued pit bull who is skittish around strangers. She gers scared at first but seems at ease around them. I love this place.

We have used this vet clinic for 2 decades. First for our cat but mostly for our dog, Benzow. The staff and doctors are wonderful. When I have to board my dog, he is always happy to say at Barfield Animal Hospital because the staff loves him.My neighbor brings his dog here, too. We both love, love, love BAH!

Scared lil pitty. I love that this place is pitbull friendly. As long as the handler has common sense and makes sure to wait to go in till they are ready for u. Makes everything easier for everyone and other patient dogs. Can be stressful. I also bring the muzzle in case. So please be mindful. Ty

Our dog was bitten and had a great deal of necrotic tissue damage. It was and still is terrifying to see! Dr. Honey, Dr Barker, and the rest of the staff have been wonderful in taking care of our big goofball and putting our minds at ease that he will be OK and recover. He was even given special foods to help get him to eat when he was so unwell. We appreciate all the care he has received and are extremely grateful! Thank you for all the love you give our animals!

My fur babies come here when they need care. My frenchie needed a special orthopedic surgery done that could not be performed there and Dr. Matt Honey made multiple calls and helped me find a surgeon to make sure she got taken care of. Barfield is a clean, good, honest and mostly affordable place to take your fur babies. Your pets will be in good hands with Dr.Matt Honey.

We tried Barfield Animal Hospital at the recommendation of a friend. Based on past traumatic vet experiences at a practice that I will leave unnamed, my dog as developed extreme anxiety about being at the vet. This is already in addition to anxiety issues she has from past abuse prior to her rescue. Yesterday, we saw Dr. Barker for my dog’s annual wellness visit. She was shaking in fear as we checked in at the front desk but had a wagging tail by the middle of the visit thanks to the kindness and professionalism of the staff! In addition to this, Dr. Barker took time to explain the details about the care my dog received yesterday afternoon. I cannot speak highly enough about the experience they provided for my pet yesterday. While the bill was a little more than it was at our previous vets office, it was well worth it for the level of care we received, and building positive vet experiences is priceless to me in order to help reduce my dog’s anxiety about future visits. We will certainly be back for all of my pet’s future care!

Update!Had to bring Cookie in today because she snagged a nail. Dr. Honey was great! Nail was just barely hanging on. He removed it and trimmed her nails, all in a 1/2 hour. Cookie was treated awesome by the staff. Thank you Barfield Animal Hospital.First time going here. Took our new pomeranian here for rabies vac and to treat her ear mites. Felt very welcomed there, wasn't pressured to do this or do that like my previous vet. Will be taking all of our poms here for now on.

I have been taking my Doberman to Barfield for almost 10 years . The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The most important thing is that my Doberman is very relaxed with them. They are a little pricey but worth it.

Not sure of his name, but it is the guy other than Dr. Honey. After stating I would like a second opinion and notification I would be picking our pet up after a rude phone exchange things became even more off-putting.I arrived to settle the bill and find another vet when I was offered a room where Mr. "It's not about the money, I have 3 stores and 56 people under me. I can't please everybody" offered to explain his findings.Originally going to leave after pick-up, I decided to hear him out. We enter the room, "I just need an explanation" I lead with and received a, "I'm going to give you all the explanations in the world" with the same snark as the phone conversation. So glad I recorded the conversation.The conversation where I am told I made this gentleman feel indignant for wanting a second opinion. So glad he also mentioned to his staff that I was a troublesome client that can't be pleased.If you are active in your pet's care and are willing to ask questions, dare even get a second opinion when something feels off... If you want a vet that will address your discomfort and problem solve your case/work with you rather than raise their voice, "I am being as nice to you as I can" at you and see you out the door, find better care for your loved ones.We went to two other offices before finding someone that handled the diag right then and there instead of repeated "wait and see" techniques.This location was a great place to us for years, but apparently I've only ever had one consult with this gentleman before and definitely will never again.The rest of the staff seems caring and willing to have a conversation about your case. Not this guy with 3 locations and 56 people where money isn't the issue.So sorry for the long review and delay (originally happened about a month ago, but wanted to get care handled first and second opinions on this "professional" behavior).[old 5 star review]Daniel and Dr. Honey were great! So worried the digit might have broke, but thankfully it was just a nail trim.Great service and care. Daniel kept Nintendo calm while doc went to town on the nails. Great place to take the little ones you love.

Excellent services! Fair and reasonable prices. My dog Stella would have died if it were not for Barfield Animal Hospital prioritizing her life saving surgery. Dr. Honey, his vet tech Sam were amazing as well as the rest of the staff. I'm so very grateful for them all.

We have taken our dog here twice now and every time they are attentive and friendly. The vet and vet techs are great with our dog and answered all of our questions. The building is clean and easy to get to. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to our fur babies. Pricing is also very reasonable and they have most meds on hand so we don't have wait or come back for them.

Overall I’ve had great experiences here. I guess the one thing you should know is this is more a regular veterinarian than an emergency type animal hospital. I took my nursing mom dog one day because she was showing signs of milk fever which is fatal if not treated quickly. I was dismayed when I was told we would have to be worked in and I watched in panic as non-emergency animals passed me by. I think the name is misleading and should be changed. Luckily there is an actual emergency vet that took us in immediately and confirmed my dog was in crisis and was able to help me.That being said, this is a great place for regular veterinary care but don’t go if you have an emergency situation.

We love Dr. Honey and the staff, they treated our sweet one for an emergency and then to UT Knoxville for emergency surgery. We needed help and they took us right away. Service like that is very important to us. We don't like having to go to the vet, but when we needed him, he was there for us and that means the world to our family of fur babies.

Just moved here from Florida. I've never had a better experience with a Veterinarian than I did here at Barfield Animal Hospital. Dr. Bob and his staff are amazing. My dog had a double ear infection and they saw us right away without an appointment. No wait, right inside. Saw Dr. Bob almost immediately. All prices explained to you PRIOR to the service. Amazing place and the standard all Animal Hospitals should aspire too. The tech was amazing as was the friendly front staff.

Wow!! called around all over town for a walk-in situation for my dog, and the best answer I could get was next week or pay extra for an emergency appointment. Then a fellow pet person suggested The Barfield Animal Hospital, when I called to inquire about the possibility of bringing my pet in today because I was going out of town, the phone was answer by one of the nicest receptionist I have encountered in quite some time, she was so helpful in informing me of the the service offered and also made time to really understand my situation. After arriving, the staff were very kind and very knowledgeable about what was going on with my pet. Without a doubt, this will be the only place I will trust with the care of my pet.

The scheduling here is real great; my pervious local vet scheduling is horrible doesn't ever seem to be able to get me in when I need them too as someone who works the graveyard a lot of time its last minute; never tried a walk in tho my local vet wasn't happy when I did it.

We took our new puppy in for her first shots. The staff was very nice and took the time to answer all of our questions. The veterinarian took time to give her a very thorough examination before giving her the shots needed. We were very pleased with the way they took care of our fur baby.

Our dog is 9 years old and had some signs of dental issues. The vet, Dr. Honey, and vet assistant were both super great with him and got him all squared away! They gave us a lower bill than previously estimated, which was a huge plus. Highly recommend!!

My family has been taking our dogs and cat to this vet since 2005ish. Dr. Barker and Dr. Honey have always been amazing and super caring to not only us but to our pets as well. They won't recommend that you do something that they're not willing to do on their own pets. The boarding prices are more than fair in my opinion and you get the peace of mind of them being at the vet in case anything goes wrong.

We had take my wife’s dog here a couple months ago and the staff and doctors were absolutely amazing. Incredibly kind and understanding and very patient, they gave us all the time we needed and even some chocolate for him to have. Can’t recommend them enough.

Dr. Honey and staff were very good treating my 17 year old dauschund. When returning to get stitches removed my husband fell off the curb. On of the techs came out to check on him. Vet and vet tech were incredibly rough with my dog. They did not even restrain him to do a fecal or give his shots. I had to hold him. Then they wanted to hold my dog in the back while waiting on blood results. Would not recommended any vets here. Prices are incredibly high. Receptionist is super nice but vets lack everything.
