All the employees were very nice. Lobby has dirty rugs that did not get any cleaner during my stay. My room was functional but smelled strongly of mold. The chairs were exceptionally moldy smelling. When using the heater, the smell was overwhelming and resulted in me awaking at night with a sore throat. The pillows on the bed had hairs on them, luckily I brought my own sheets and blanket. The show was amazingly hot and great pressure. However, it leaked all night. There was no sign of any bedbugs, which is why I chose to stay despite the issues. The door chain lock is not strong, I would suggest bringing a bar to secure it. Overall, it is well overpriced for the quality and cleanliness of the place, but options in the town are very limited

Location is nice. Love the mountains and seeing the tail end of the fall foliage. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Rooms are alright. Good for a quick stay. Sad that there’s no breakfast, but it’s also understandable. But i do agree about the cigarette smell in the hallways and lobby.. its pretty strong, even in the non-smoking area.

Its good to stay at a local hotel. Beautiful location, no breakfast and pool are closed too. Needs some renovations. The refrigerator was on the luggage stand. No iron or iron board to be found. The room was clean and comfortable, but the flush was constantly dripping water. There is an amazing restaurant on walking distance. We enjoyed that and mountains.Food & drinks: Restaurant at walking distance.Noteworthy details: Surrouunded by mountains

1) the hotel is not dirty. Staff clearly work hard and everything was pristine.2) BUT there is a lot wrong at the *corporate level. Dampness and mustiness meant I not only had to wash every bit of fabric i had with me, but also plastic/hard items including pens, laptop, etc., when I got home3) stale cigarette smell from whenever they last allowed smoking, too4) carpets need replaced, painting at minimum, and an entirely new HVAC system or whatever that can handle the level of humidity in a TN valley, because the mustiness is extreme. I was stuffy nosed the entire time5) beds are in rough shape but at least not lumpy, no iron or board, sink cracked (and not, had a crack, but fully snapped in half.)6) agree with another reviewer who said the rate did not reflect the hotel’s conditionsI feel bad because staff were so kind and everything they could control was great. If you’re camping/hiking/biking & just need a night in, this is probably fine, but if you are doing something where smelling like a gym bag is not ok with you, best to find another place.

Nice comfortable room and a great location. It's what you would expect from a room in this price range and it's right behind Suba's restaurant!Nearby activities: Suba's restaurant!

I'm going with 5 stars as the room and the entire areas getting to the room were clean and neat. We stayed over night with our little dog. He barked as he could hear the hallway doors open and close and the car doors outside. I did my best to immediately settle him. Sounds didnt bother me but Ive been in a bit better hotel with sound proofing. Bed was comfortable and clean. There was no breakfast because of the slow season (winter and Christmas) but coffee was available. The girl at the desk was nice but not on a overly nice friendly way. She did her job, answered questions and helped fix the tv. Not a friendly outgoing person but nice enough. I'd stay here again if we're down that way. Nice little area overall a really great experience.

I don't usually write reviews but I feel this deserves a review. The picture of the lobby is the only nice part of this hotel, and the picture hides the wallpaper falling off the walls. We walked into our room and walked right back out. The smell in our room from smoking and mildew was awful. The carpet was disgusting. I am pretty sure people live here as well. The good part was the girl at the front desk was very friendly and did refund our money.

Very poor experience, as the room(s) has moisture & filled with black mole; making it difficult to breath. The holes in the walls, weren’t very pleasant either. When we mentioned it to the staff, they did relocate us to a different room which again, but even worse. After finally finding a room that was tolerable; we were very uncomfortable with this establishment. The staff was polite & offered a partial refund, but however; they have yet to do so. In fact; they avoid to even speak to us any further.Overall, I would not recommend.

This hotel is very nasty. Even the people working there said all of the cleaning staff needed to be fired. We moved rooms 3 times, there was mold up the walls and the floor. The room we ended up staying in had burn holes all in the blankets the walls looked filthy and the window curtains were filthy. The overall room looked filthy but was the cleanest one we could find and we needed somewhere to sleep. Even outside of the rooms the hotel smelled pretty bad. I asked for my money back and I still haven’t heard anything back from them 3 days after I went home.

I would give this hotel a 2 out of 5 only because it was somewhere to lay our heads for the night so it fulfilled its purpose. However, this hotel could be 5 star if it was deep cleaned and updated. The hotel is a little, quiet hotel right as you enter mountain City. The staff is pleasant and will greet you with kindness at the door. When entering the room, we were greeted by not so pleasant conditions. First, the stench of mildew filled the room. Second, as we walked in, there was a giant hole in the ceiling that clearly had water damage. Also, when my friend went to the bathroom, there was a wad of hair in the toilet. When entering the main area of the room, we noticed some mold on the walls and other unidentified stains. Despite all of this, the bed appeared to be clean and ready for us. Definitely not worth the $80 paid for the night but it is what it is.

The convenience of this hotel is superb. However it is extremely dated, damp, deteriorated, etc. I must give them credit for clean bedding and comfortable pillows. My office booked me at this hotel due to its convenient location near my work site. I would never have booked this hotel if I knew its status. The nearest option is hotels in Boone, a thirty minute drive. The hotel needs a major renovation and their rates do not reflect the poor condition.

This is an older hotel and the furnishings are a little dated, but it's well maintained and very clean. Located right next to a park where pets (and kids) could run around. Staff was ultra friendly and happy to give suggestions on local restaurants. Bed was a little hard, could have used better pillows, but towels were fluffy and smelled good. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip through mountain city.

2 nights May 2022. Old hotel with apparent deferred maintenance. Apparent water damage near baseboard by bathtub and sink vanity. Poor water flow in sink; used bathtub to wash face and brush teeth. Sink drained slowly, backed-up. Room seemed dark, with just one lamp between two beds and a floor lamp in the corner. Bathroom was tight: barely room to open the door. Dark carpet, so couldn't tell how clean; wore bedroom slippers. On the plus side, bed was comfortable, and temperature control, refrigerator and TV worked.

I like that they allow dogs, and that the sheets/covers and bathroom areas were clean. The carpet is dark, can't tell if clean or not. The uphosterd chair cushion was stained, and there was no table/desk, so not easy to eat in the room (has a low large credenza though). Our room AC worked well. We had two double beds. The bed closest to the door was very hard, like a board under the mattress, and it squeaked. The other bed was better, slept well. The breakfast on Friday was decent, had egg and cinnamon toast and bagel with cream cheese. They also had cereals, make your own waffle, other breads, juice and coffee. The rooms have been partly painted, though trims need repair and painting. The room itself was adequate, with 2 double beds, a TV, and mini-fridge.

This place, by far, is the worst place I have ever stayed. I stayed 5 nights for school, and the room smelled like cigarettes and mold. I even saw a dried booger on the wall. The bed was so uncomfortable that two days later, I have woken up from severe back back pain. This place is gross. Stay away. This is a true roach motel.

Thought I did this already... anyway, room is plenty big, beds were a bit harder than our bed at home. Room was also clean. The curtains to pull shut for privacy were totally ripped in the corners. Didn't notice them until I went to shut them. They still provided the necessary privacy, so it wasn't a big deal. My only real issue was the pillows. Sorry, but they were awful! Every one of them was a big pile of lumps. I could not get comfortable at all. Definitely time to replace them.Breakfast was fine - pretty much like most hotels that provide breakfast. The standard waffle machine, toast, English muffins, bagels, all the necessary condimints; 3 choices of cold cereal, orange juice, coffee; along with biscuits and gravy and sausage. Plenty of choices and actually had mixed fruit jelly!!! Loved that on my English muffin!!

I would give 0 stars if I could. We booked on Expedia because the pictures and reviews looked ok & there weren't many other options available last minute. We didn't expect the best, but we were shocked how bad it was. First, the pictures show a decent pool, but their pool is still closed up with the cover on from winter, so don't expect to swim. That will be the least of your worries, however. When we got to our room (206), as soon as we opened the door, the smell was atrocious. It smelled like damp mold & mildew, and there were water stains on the ceiling. The room was completely outdated, nothing like the photos on Expedia. It got worse. There was what appeared to be blood smeared on the wall beside the sink, and toothpaste on the wall behind the sink. The rest of the walls in the whole room were absolutely filthy & disgusting. The blanket on one bed had black stains and what appeared to be a cigarette burn, despite the hotel being non-smoking. The mattress was caved in in the middle. The other bed had dried up food and some other questionable stains on the bedding. Carpet is gross. There was no emergency info in the room as you usually find on the door (and is probably a requirement.) We immediately went back to the front desk and asked for a clean room, but we were told they were full. We told them we were leaving because the room was dirty and we were told we would be refunded, but no refund has been issued yet. This place is filthy. Stay anywhere else!

We have used this hotel 3 times now during our visits trying to relocate. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We have had 3 different rooms and all three were clean and tidy, no smells sheets were clean and the breakfast bar in the morning is awesome! They have a beautiful lobby as well. Never stayed when the pool was open, but it was always clean. We will be back down at the end of January!!

The hotel is a bit worn. The room was old with a peculiar urine smell and moldy walls. However, the beds were fresh, the staff was delightful, the breakfast was yummy and the mountain views were breathtaking! It's good for the price.

We have stayed at this hotel several times when we visited Mountain City Tennessee. It’s clean and mostly quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful. Due to the pandemic there’s minimal housekeeping. You exchange your towels at the front desk. There’s a small refrigerator in the room and coffee in the lobby. The resident cat is a nice home like touch.
