Everything looked clean to what I could see they was busy, they had a lot of animals to see and to choose from. I have some photos of my visit today. The lady working acted nice but I did not talk to her others was speaking with her. We usual just stop by the see the animals and pet them and visit.

Do NOT buy any pets from them. I took 3 baby bunnies to sell them. I walked past the store 2 days later and saw 2 still there. One wasn’t moving. I went in and picked it up and was absolutely appalled at the shape that baby was in. I took them both to the counter and told them I was taking them back home with me. This baby did not even make it to the car before it died in my arms. The last picture is the day before I took the bunnies to the pet store. The others is what this pitiful baby looked like 2 days later when I saw it

The little guy in the picture is tangerine before getting animals from here please do your research some of the staff have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to PROPER LIGHTING "red bulbs were designed with the thought they would produce night time heat without producing a bright light. In actuality, this disrupts the reptile's photoperiod, affecting their sleep, eating, behavior and overall health due to the stress it can cause." Have seen this with my own eyes because this what i was told to get my animals and EVERYBODY exotic group i have spoken to or follow that is the biggest no just please do your OWN research

DO NOT buy pets from here!! They do not care about these animals and do not properly take care of them. My poor little hamster passed just after a week of having her, she was fine and then all the sudden was acting sick. Even if they look healthy they aren’t. Don’t support this awful business!

I just love this place. The absolutely best place for freshwater plants. Always so healthy, and never had any die. Fish I've had many, too many, but never plants lol. The staff are also the best. So extremely smart and very helpful. This place has been here in mall for years. They have dogs, cats, minture pigs lol, crabs, and beautiful parrots and other birds. A great place to see

if you buy from them, make sure whatever you choose looks healthy and well. i bought a whites tree frog from them a month ago who’s doing amazing, but I just went back to get him a tank mate, it was the only frog left in the tank, so I couldn’t choose between any, he looked awful, so skinny, he wouldn’t eat, and he ended up not making it through the night, be cautious when buying!

Loving the most precious puppy from Pet Carousel. He did have kennel cough. It cleared up great with antibiotics. I would buy again, but get vet care. Loved the vet they referred me too. All animals need great homes and care. Thank you for my baby!!

We drove in twice in a week.from Knoxville. The very first time we were helped by a very kind male staff member. However we will never return and recommend others not to after a very rude female staff member Saturday Nov 25. We bought an axolotl and had to come back to replace it after it died within 27 hrs earlier in the week. Water was correct, feeding it on their recommended diet. When we came back she tried to sell us more items and when we refused and told.her based on vet and research we would stick to what we learned they eat she decided to make comments in front of my 9 year old son with autism, "well we keep them alive and you are killing them." Very uncalled for especially with the death occurring within a day and we had our tank water checked. Also as we walked out she stared us down until we reached TJ maxx.

Please do not buy from here, especially fish!!! Every single one of there tanks is ate up with ich and the fish are horribly sick and dying. Dead fish are left in the tanks to infect the others. Overall they do not care about the health of the animals as long as they profit.

Came in for the first time for some Zupreem bird food. Place was very clean and friendly service. They have everything you could need for pets. They even have puppy's.The only issue I had was the prices were way too much. The food I was looking for anywhere else (another pet store/Amazon) is $10.99. There price was $18.99.

This is your basic pet store when you are desperate and do not live near many pet stores. About 70-80% of the time the people working here don't care and provide little info. There animal quality is ok but some or the reptiles have shown issues like too sickly, skinny, or wrong living conditions. For example the baby bearded dragons had sand like substrate and It looked like one was choking on sand but the woman working that day just said ok like she didn't care. And I just had to walk out in anger because I knew there was nothing I could do. It can be expensive in here too ! Like $5-20 more than you need to pay.

The adult bearded dragon was miserable and visibly upset. it’s beard was black which doesn’t occur unless the beardie is extremely stressed, I know this because I own a bearded dragon. The bearded dragon seemed to be upset because of the extremely small enclosure it was in. Do not support this animal cruelty!!!

(I'm changing my review for a good reason) they barely keep care of their animals and when my sister got a hamster from there, it died not even a week later. And they need to make better choices on who they hire as well. Like, a lot of the workers don't even bother helping and are kinda snobby if I have to say so. Like, bruh.

I bought 3 fish for my children and they were beta fish so it’s impossible to not know which is which the males are more beautiful but anyway after I paid for it the lady said we stole the fish which I don’t understand because she charged us for 2 males and one female I got the receipt still. She called me a thief and all kinds of stuff I even asked if something happened with my kids I’ll make it right now she didn’t want to do that I keep apologizing she just kept getting loud in front of my children calling us thief so I put $40 down on the counter and she threw it back at me. I honestly think it’s because my children moved a few things and it was closing time and they said we already fixed that stuff so lady I’m sorry my little baby moved. Godbless you lady and the man that was with you I hope you find happiness one day.

Bro, I was going to buy some fish (2 to be exact) for my lonely fair goldfish (he has lived a year, thankfully 😊) and I asked one of the employees if I could mix the species, and she said yeah. But then, when I pointed at the type of species of fish, she asked me what type of tank I had and when I told her I had a 3 gallon, she started saying that I couldn't have in such a small tank and that I needed to have them in a ten gallon tank, when clearly the fish that are there are not in a 10 gallon tank and there are a lot of fish crammed in the tank. (Take note, she said this all snobby), and after I told her that we were going to get them, she changed the 10-gallon tank story to a 20-gallon tank. Will never go here again. (except just to look around and feel sorry for the animals)

This shop has all kinds of pet options. They have puppies and birds like a typical pet store, but also chinchillas, pigs, spiders, and a selection of reptiles. It's a decent sized store, and they have lots of accessories as well. My daughter loves looking at the variety of animals and picking things out for our dogs at home.

I have visited Carousel Pets occasionally over the years. I actually reached out to them over the telephone for information about Chameleons. The individual I spoke with was knowledgeable and professional. In one of my past visits I saw a pair of African Cutthroat Finches. I finally decided to purchase these birds. I am so glad that I did.Now, first these birds require a certain level of care. I was worried after reading the reviews of Carousel Pets that I would bring them home and they would die immediately. After bringing them home it was clearly obvious that they have been given everything they needed to not only sustain their existence but to thrive. I have not offered them any food that they have been reluctant to eat.The representative that sold them to me was professional. I will absolutely return to Carousel Pets.

Was over at the Mall this morning. There were two adorable kittens. In my opinion there was something off about them though. They were beyond lethargic they seemed to me to be catatonic. I went to ask the woman working there if they were ok (or drugged) and she said no. They were just kittens and kittens sleep a lot (20 hours a day she said). Now I’m 68 and have had cats and kittens for at least 65 of those years. 8 week old kitten do not just lie there when someone walks by or pets them. They at least raise their heads and respond to noise with ear twitching. When she picked one up to show me the kitten it just limply draped itself, still sleeping, over her hand. Again, in a condescending tone she said kittens sleep a lot. I told her in my history with kittens and cats they never behaved like this…..

A few months ago we bought a bearded dragon from here. The cashier told us that it is normal for the tip of their tail to turn black or even fall off. Slowly the dark started to grow up his tail and has rapidly gotten worse. We took him to the vet and discovered he had tail rot and will need amputation and is on several medications amassing almost 1000 dollars in vet bills. It is not normal for a bearded dragon to have their tails turn black or dark and it tail rot their tails do not grow back! So either the cashier deliberately underplayed the severity to try or make a sale or they were uninformed of the animals they care for. Neither or which is good at all. We wish we had looked more into carousel pets before we bought him from here but it should be normal for the business selling the animals to inform the customers of basic care and tell them if anything is wrong with the animal they are trying to sell. Selling a customer an animal they know is sick without telling the customer is absolutely wrong and cruel.He has faced so much unnecessary suffering and might die. The level of neglect in this place is horrifying.

DO NOT FUND THIS HORRID STORE!!Most Definitely the WORST pet store I have ever been to. You will not be refunded or compensated if your pet dies and the male working there (Travis) will try his hardest to make you feel like it was your fault regardless of how much proof you have, he was extremely rude and tried to gaslight us into believing we are wrong regardless of our proof. He was extremely disrespectful and the Manager was not much nicer, I had to contact her to possibly obtain a refund and she was the same as Travis and was also very rude when I came in weeks prior to purchase feeder mice which died very soon after. I came in with vet confirmation that my Ball Python had died due to their neglect and I received no compensation, no remorse, and no help whatsoever. They have been confirmed before to be running a puppy mill and there have been multiple cases of them allowing reptiles to starve and many of the reptiles seem stressed and underfed. Their Reptiles and animals are over priced to make up for the mass deaths of animals that come in each Thursday and they are absolutely not a place where you should spend your hard earned money. Petsense only a few minutes away is somewhere I recommend much more, they were kind, respectful, and all of the reptiles I have purchased from them came with a complete guarantee I'd get my money back and their reptiles seemed to be very healthy. My first ball python is one I have purchased from there and she's thriving to this day. Carousel Pets deserved to be shut down due to their utter mistreatment of their animals and to guests. please do not spend your money here, they do not deserve your money

I had a hamster for 3 days and it died. When I first got her she seemed healthy. The man that works there told me to monitor her for wet tail. I did and she did come down with it. I went back to the store and purchased the drops as instructed. She died the very next day. I informed the manager (Kelly I believe is her name); no remorse, no offer to return my money, no offer to replace the hamster. $40 later and the only comfort I can get is knowing she didn't die alone. I do not recommend this pet store at all. 💔👎

One of the ball pythons they have has stuck on shed and that is because the husbandry is completely incorrect. They need to fix this because it's not good for the snake. I would not trust that they know how to take care of any animal. They are nice people and the selection is good.

Okay PLEASE MANAGEMENT READ THIS. I had a terrible experience in this store today. I wanted to take one of the pigs home (she’s brown/gold) but noticed that she has some kind of rash all on the bottom of her belly and her underarms. I don’t know if it’s the aspen wood chips that you guys use but she was clearly so uncomfortable and I did not feel comfortable purchasing her. There was also a really fluffy grey rabbit in there that had those aspen shavings stuck in their fur and he had matted fur on the top of his head with wood chips poking into his skin! Someone please do something about this I am so concerned. These animals are not being taken care of properly.

I purchased a hamster from them and they reduced the price because he had one eye . A week later it ended up passing away. We decided since the first one might have been sick that we would wait for their new hamsters to come in. We got an energetic hamster who loved playing and climbing. I haven’t even had him for 3 days and it’s health already deteriorated and he’s getting cold to the touch. Do not buy hamsters here they won’t make it past a week.

The staff was nice and helpful. There was an equal balance between pets and equipment to care for them. The store wasn't anything grand but it was nice. The highlight of my trip here was certainly the two sleeping pigs I had the opportunity to pet. I fell absolutely in love with them. And only wish I could take them in with me but unfortunately, I am not able to. I hope they find a home with someone who will care for them.

I purchased a puppy from this place yesterday and the poor thing is skin and bones, he has no idea how to drink out of a water bowl and he has a very bad cough. The staff was friendly and helpful, but this poor pup is pitiful. I would definitley be very weary of purchasing and pets from this store!

The staff was actually horrible. I walked in and went straight to the counter the lady behind counter looked up at me and I asked a question she literally looked down at the desk and wouldn't say a word, then another lady jumped in to help me. Then she should me what I needed. Then she walked off and then I was needing someone to cut the background off there roll of background that they had for my BD. The lady doing the cutting was absolutely rude I was just trying to have a conversation with her and she also wouldn't say a word. If your going to a store and would like a lil respect since your in the store spending your money I would not recommend this store. I had to deal with 3 people and they were absolutely ungrateful. I'll never go back I'll make the 30 miles to PetSmart instead of going back to this store which is only 10 miles from me. 1 star was only giving cuz there's no option for a 0 star.
