A very nice local grocery store in a small town. While the building may not be new, it is very well kept with a great variety of products. Prices seem competitive and food items fresh. Quite friendly staff members.

They have good meat. Sometimes good sales. Way overpriced! Produce is ridiculously overpriced and not very good quality. Only go there really, for the meat.

Way too expensive. Be sure to check for freshness of produce and check your expiration dates. I only use this store when I don't have time to drive 30 minutes away to another grocery store.

This Piggly Wiggly is really well stocked with surprising variety. Sometimes the produce has seen better days, but for how remote it is, they do a good job. It saves me driving down the mountain regularly.

We stopped here while on vacation to grab some ice and spicy brown mustard. The store appeared very clean with wide assortment of products.I opted for the Piggly Wiggly brand of mustard at a significantly lower price than my usual brand. It tasted just good as my normal choice. The clerk at the checkout was very pleasant and sent me off with a fine farewell.

I wouldn't recommend shopping here! Worst experience with employees, very rude and disrespectful with belongings. They are judgmental and have no respect. We've never had a good experience here. The store has an awful smell and doesn't seem maintained. The store is so overpriced and you can't walk out without spending a lot of money on just a few items. I would keep away from the meat because we've found bad product. We are locals and drive 30+ minutes to avoid shopping here unless it's and emergency. I'm all about small town pride and supporting local businesses, but this store brings shame to the area because of the workers

Big supermarket with a small home town feeling. Their prices are very reasonable and their selection is great. Also excellent to have local farmers products like fresh eggs. Customer service is excellent and kind. Definitely a great place to stop by when needing anything

Based on cleanliness, friendliness of employees, and selection it gets five stars.The only reason I've decided to give it four is because I cannot find a website linking the store nor can I find any type of weekly flyer and they do not offer a rewards card of any sort. So no coupons and no rewards card has dropped them a point. I'm not trying to sound cheap, but groceries add up very quickly, especially in a store that carries mainly name brand items. If the pig offered emails and coupons like Save-A-Lot or Publix does, it would have been five stars.

We got 1 pounds of apples, priced at $1.98 a pound. On the receipt they charged us $40 dollars. We tried explaining how much $40 dollars worth of apples gets you, and the sheer amount of apples 20 pounds is. In response, all they had to say was "did you check the price?" in a passive aggressive tone.Despite our best efforts, we could not explain to them how simple addition works. I suppose we cant expect much of them considering they probably didn't pass 3rd grade arithmetic. In the end, we just kindly asked them to remove the apples from our charge.And even then they still messed up. Somehow after removing $40 dollars worth of apples, they still managed to charge us an extra $20 dollars of non existent apples.Despite the frustrations, we attempted to remain friendly and profusely apologized repeatedly the entire time for the trouble. In response all we got was ignored and snarky responses.

Nice store with friendly staff. Great prices too. Produce is fresh and they carry a lot of local goods. They have increased the amount of local foods. The only real grocery store in Monteagle. The staff go out of their way to assist you in any way they can.

I’ve lived in Monteagle for about a year, and have been in this store around 5 or 6 times. Every time, the staff are just incredibly rude. They do not want you in there and they have no problem letting you know. One older woman sighs any time she has to ring up groceries, another blonde woman will not look at you or say anything. It’s a weird, rude environment. Also, the prices there are outrageously overpriced. They charge $2-$3 more for items than most other grocery stores. I bought Velveeta cheese there a couple of days ago and it was $9 for the normal block you’d get at WalMart for around $3-$5. I’d rather drive to Winchester or Manchester to grocery shop even though they’re 20 plus minutes away.

Always loved this store.... but yesterday I went in for some chicken and beef and a few veggies. Bought 2 packs of chicken and 1pack of ground beef. Got home, my son put groceries up. Today open my fridge, and only 1 pack of chicken is in it. It was left at the store. Called today and told them it was left there. They say yes It is here. Get up there and in front of about six customers the “manager” loudly boasts she isn’t the lady that came through my line! I said No I didn’t come through your line I went through Mrs.Toms line. So I tell her about what happened, She says Nope! It isn’t about the money, but dang to act like I am lying... so I went and bought another pack. I will NEVER shop here again.

My family and i are here for a short Christmas Vaca, This is the closest store in town and Walmart is 20mins away so this store is more ideal if it wasn't for the unbelievable rude staff particularly the lady with Blonde or more yellow than blonde hair. Very stuck up while ringing my family out. Making faces and gestures, rolling her eyes as our receipt printed. No hey how are you, have a good night nothing. Id rather drive 20mins to walmart for some common sense hospitality. You dont like your job dont work there but dont be rude to people! Will never be back to this sad excuse of a store

Prices are above average, while produce quality is well below average. Meats are good quality, and workers are friendly, but the overall experience is disappointing. They succeed by being the only grocery in the area.

Always pretty clean, decent selection for a little town.. bit you can expect to pay "convenience tax" (meaning the price is higher) due to location and lack of competitors. The staff is the best, however!
