Went in to check out their selection of Hoka Shoes. They are on point. Matt helped me and got me all set. He was informed and knowledgeable about the product. He was friendly and so helpful.Only downfall is I wanted to purchase a 2nd pair but store policy wouldn't allow Matt to order for me. That frustrated me - you know ..... Try to shop local and want to spend my $$$ there. Oh well...

This has a very old country store feel to it. Love the front porch that they have some products set up to sit in and try out. The parking lot is pretty large and I think it is very nice that they have designated some spaces specifically for the use of the people using the Mountain Goat Trail. The store has a very large selection of outdoor gear. We found a large selection of many name brand jackets and coats and the ones we checked had a competitive price with the manufacturers websites so we made sure to purchase from them. They have some sale racks downstairs but had a sale on everything that was placed upstairs so make sure to check up there, especially if you need a medium jacket or coat, seemed to be a lot in that size up there. The staff was very approachable and helpful.

After talking about HOKA running shoes I finally purchased a pair from Mountain Outfitters off of exit 134 on I -24 between Murfreesboro and Chattanooga. The staff is super friendly and cool. One thing I will say is you have make sure you want the shoes or any items because you can only get a store credit. My HOKA fit great

I bought a pair of on cloud shoes 6 months ago and the pair had a defective issue and I was having problems doing the warranty with the company on line but the awesome owner and worker's allowed me to come in and they replaced my shoes for me and said they would have a rep take care of doing the return for me. Besides they (on cloud shoes ) are worth every penny but buying them here is even better and worth it. They always go above and beyond to make sure your happy!!!! And 1000000 % satisfied

Came here today just hoping to maybe find some chacos or other shoes to fit well enough. Instead, I was initially helped by someone kind who, when they heard my specific needs, referred me to Brooks, who was not only knowledgeable about multiple brands but was kind, pleasant and patient for the ridiculously long time it took me to choose two pairs of shoes. Come here to get a deal? That's a great reason, but after many years as a customer I'm grateful this place offers so much more. They've hired a great ambassador in Brooks.

Found this outfitter as we were looking for a hiking trail. Was definitely worth the stop in as they had an entire floor on sale (50% off). We had been looking for a good hiking back pack. Couldn't pass up the deal.Staff was super friendly and helpful as well.

This is an awesome outdoor gear and clothing store. They are a Barbour Retailer too and have a great selection. I highly recommend a stop here and they are so conveniently located to I-24 through Monteagle, TN so if traveling you don't have a good excuse to not stop.

Great selection, friendly folks! Got a few good deals, upstairs sale right now. Excellent location. Good parking. Not too crowded. Lots of high end gear for snow skiing, hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. Cool footwear reasonably priced. Fun gifts, nice packs, coolers, cups, socks, some children's clothing, even some dog gear. Definitely recommend!

We've been seeing this place for years when we come to visit the Smokehouse across the street, but it always ended up being a Sunday and it was closed or we just got too busy and never could make it in. Finally stopped by and were happy to find some great shoes for my husband that he loves and they were on sale as a bonus. Really great selection of hiking and outdoor shoes among other things.

I went in to look at some OC shoes while my wife was shopping. I asked if they had any wide sizes. I was told that they don’t make wide sizes. I said they do make them but not many stores carry them. I told them I have had a wide pair for a year and wanted another pair. I was told I didn’t have a pair because they don’t make them. We have made several purchases there over the years because I would rather do business with a small business than order online. They have lost my business

I love shopping at mountain outfitters! The store is such a cool atmosphere, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I went in to the store before a camping trip (which I was completely unprepared for) and their staff worked with me for over an hour and helped me find the essential supplies and the best prices. Plus their sales are great! I highly recommend making a trip up the mountain to visit this place.

I love this place! I stop here every time I'm in the area. Always great stuff! The upstairs always has 50% off everything, which makes for some really good deals on Patagonia, Filson, Columbia, etc. Definitely worth a look!

This is a really cool mom and pop outfitter store on Mont Eagle. I had no idea it was even here until we drove by it last week. They have a great selection of all different brands and all different kinds of outdoor gear, from clothing and hiking gear, to kayaks and climbing gear, Mountain Outfitters is a great one stop shop. They have a ton of great gear that goes for 50% off at the end of each season, definitely worth driving to for one of the sales. They also have a climbing wall to keep your kids busy while you look around. We'll definitely be back.

Customer service is not very good at all. We called and got false info for a price on something. Once we drove all the way there and found out it was way more expensive, there was no apology of any kind. Won't be going back. Good customer service means a lot.---Edit---I'm changing my original 1 star rating to 5 stars. The reason 5 stars wasn't originally given was for the complete lack of customer service. The company responding to their review and trying to make things right is all it takes sometimes!

Great place to find a wide selection of Patagonia brand clothing that is perfect for Tennessee outdoor adventures. Good prices. Great staff. The rock wall and "hiking" bridge was very helpful in trying on trail shoes!
