A small store. They may not carry everything that the huge box stores carry, but it's close to home, and they do offer quite a good selection. The people are always professional and courteous.

Unfortunate. Ran into the most unprofessional, rude, grumpy old man today. Name is David and I think he is the owner because any employee would have been fired for treating a customer like that. It was obvious that he doesn’t know or care how to handle customers. I must have said something that he just didn’t like. I drove an hour to pick up an item that the app said they had in stock. I was put out by that and was told, if I don’t like it, leave. In fact, he told me to leave. Then on my way out, David and the guy with the beard wannabe taunted me saying “enjoy your hour long drive home”. I really feel sorry for him because I think he has underlying issues.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE!!! Steven is the worst person to do business with!!! We had issues with not 1 but 2 blowers and they had the same issue with both, plus both messed up within 7 days!!! Now he doesn't want to give us our money back!!! On top of all that, Steven is trying to say it was us even after his mechanic has checked everything and told us it was a blower issue.

No consequence with hours of operation and constantly changing them. Doesn't have what you need unless you order it online if their website will let you. If you can order it online then why would anyone ever go in? Oh yeah! To look at their overpriced items in person and buy them elsewhere.

Bought a brand new blower it won't run right and they swapped it out new one won't run either. They are both stihl. I showed them it won't run now im just out a blower until they get with stihl.

Pretty well stocked for the location. Nice people, but I'd recommend the trip to Manchester or Chattanooga if you have any real projects. Aces are also individually owned as I just learned. So they can't help with returns from other stores, just a heads up.

Manager helped me load my purchases. Really nice guy. Elderly lady that works up front is the rudest employee I've ever met in a retail store. She has checked me out several times and each time she acts like you are a burden to her. I'll wait on another cashier from now on or not make a purchase.

Fantastic new store. Highly recommend. Today was my second time in, I picked up some items and the ladies did a great job matching paint samples. I'm going back tomorrow for some Stihl products. Very clean, lots of associates to help. Completely unlike the big box. Thanks for bringing this to the mountain.Still a great store. The only thing not good is the hours. They close at 5 on weekdays so impossible to stop by after work. I have to stop by Lowes or Home Depot instead.But great on weekends to save a trip down the mountain.

I purchased a Stihl chainsaw from this location in December of 21 and it had a 2 year warranty. I had no issues until August of 22. At this point I was operating the saw and it malfunctioned. I took it to the store to have them repair under warranty but Stihl was not willing to stand behind their warranty so Ace would not either. I am highly disappointed that they did not repair and would not engage Stihl on my behalf. I called Stihl and found someone that was willing to help me out then Ace told them they didn’t want to do business with me.I then tried to return the saw and I admit I raised my voice and was angry because they would not refund me the $500 saw. However they threatened to call the police so that they would not have to issue a refund.I have never experienced poorer customer service. I spent thousands of dollars with what I thought was a local business in the last year and now I am out $500 for the saw. I will never do business with this location again and I would suggest spending money with another local business. It’s unfortunate because their employees have always been friendly and helpful in the past.

Called to see if they refill propane tanks. Female answering the Phone checked then came back stating they did. Came in only to find out they never fill tanks. Wasted trip. Ace is usually much better than this.

Super friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable staff! So glad to have a good hardware store in Monteagle/Sewanee! Reasonable prices, good selections from paint, household needs and outdoor hardware. Nice big parking area and noticeable from road. No more having to go off the mountain for these kinds of dry goods and keeps your $$ local!!

Having an Ace Hardware move in to Monteagle was a welcome sight. Employees are very courteous and helpful. One huge drawback for me is the fact that this store has NEVER posted any signage requesting customers to wear masks and practice social distancing while in the store. Nor do they require their employees to wear masks. I only shop there when I can't get to a socially conscious business down the mountain.

Note that the hours as of October 10th have them closing before 5pm even though Google shows open until 5. The phone number goes to what sounds like a fax line. No way to send a message to the Facebook page, so hopefully the manager sees this before next time we're in to mention it.

Doesn't go with aces replacement policy on an ace product was told no on replacing my pump sprayer because the pressure release valve shot off and I needed a new one
