My cat and I had our first vet appointment this week since I adopted him. He is normally a very relaxed, confident cat, but being at the vet put him on edge, to say the least. Despite his stressed-out aggression, the vets and staff treated him kindly and with good humor, and they completed as much of the checkup as he would tolerate. Unfortunately, my cat had an adverse reaction to his vaccines overnight. Everyone at The Pet Hospitals was very responsive, answering all of my questions over the phone and squeezed us in to their schedule ASAP when it became clear I could not help him anymore at home. Shout-out to Sophia who spent extra time with us on both days, first showing me some tips on nail trimming (as much as we could despite his spiciness) then sitting with us a little longer on the return visit to make sure he stayed calm and trusting. Also thank you to Drs. Lipscomb and Cozzarelli for answering all of my questions and helping to keep my cat healthy!

Every interaction I've had with staff from routine checkups to an emergency has been nothing but pleasant. Everyone is absolutely professional, friendly, and caring. The lobby is always clean and inviting. When my dog got hurt and I took her in as an emergency visit, she was treated very quickly and the staff put me at ease. My dog also loves the treats available at the front counter!

When I adopted my kitten from the Memphis Humane Society the Pet Hospital was one of the clinics suggested to receive the remainder of his shots and I am so happy I picked them. I cant imagine feeling this comfortable and happy with anyone else. I recently brought in my other cat for her annual appointment and the prices are so reasonable plus $1 nail trims....WHAT!?!All staff is welcoming and professional. Dr. Bugg is great, she listened to all my questions, and even sent me an email to do farther research. They really care here!

I took my puppy in because i saw worms in the stool and she was lethargic.. they refused her 1st shots due to the parasitesThey did nothing no IV or anythingAnd refused to check her for Parvo due to the parasites.. they offered no immediate help.. But they made sure they made some MONEY by selling me meds and sending her home but rufusing to administer the doses themselves ..2 dayS after no care was offered and I’m walking into my house to a dead puppy.They where negligent , no sense of urgency and I wouldn’t recommend such a lack luster place for anyone to take their pets.. the staff is sweet but they are Lazy..Dr English is a 30 minute ride but his process will be worth the drive. If I could give negative stars I would!ZARA was her name and my wife brought her.. urgent response to my post but not care for the animalChina was the woman that brought my dog and no this is not an era I brought my boy dog blueface for all his shots there in the shopping center behind chic fil A but good job trying to clean it up 👍🏽

The staff were very nice and helpful when I first contacted them about my cat I found after losing her months ago. They got my cat (Molly) the help she needed after finding out she was pregnant with 7 kittens 😊. Dr. Pirtle and her staff were excellent. I love that they called to check in on her as well. And here they are today.

We took our baby Rocky to this location for his 1st check up. Somehow, we were earlier than the appointment time. The ladies accommodated us, saw our Rocky and provided exceptional service. He is due back in a few weeks, and I’m certain their level of professionalism and care will be the same. Don’t let so many locations deter you from making The Pet Hospital’s your babies provider! They maybe a big company, but their hearts match! They are definitely the best!

I've been here twice - the first on a Sunday when my cats tooth broke and again this past week when she was suffering from severe constipation. Both times they were SO helpful and quick. I was in and out within an hour and the prices were reasonable. They did x-rays this last time to make sure there wasn't a blockage and they okayed the cost beforehand.The chat feature on their website is great! I was able to request medicine to pick up the same day.All in all, the staff and doctors at this location are top notch and I am so happy to have found them as a backup vet :)

called to try to speak to a vet and Jules was rude and no help. she wouldn’t let me speak to anyone and kept back talking. when i asked to speak to a vet about suggestions since i spent around $300 and hadn’t received any help or resolutions for my sick dog she just kept going over how much i actually paid. i know what i paid and wasn’t calling for a price check. the last 2 times my dog was shaking and scared to go inside and now i understand why.

The staff was very very friendly and helped me. Their scheduling was excellent because they didn't have a ton of dogs backed up in the waiting area like a lot of places do. The doctor was great. My dog is a rescue and has anxiety issues that comes from her background but also from a couple of bad experiences at the vet post her being rescued. She loved the staff here and the doctor. That speaks volumes to me. Her previous vet she only liked 1 or 2 specific people. I had lost faith in vet care in our area. The Pet Hospitals has restored my faith in vet care and humanity in general. They listen and care. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

EDIT: I am actually very impressed with this vet after the administration reached out to me. Most places wouldn't have and the issue described below was resolved and the account was adjusted appropriately.ORIGINAL ISSUE: We live about an hour from Memphis and our dog injured herself this weekend and we don’t have any vets open on weekends near us. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and caring for our dog. We did have one issue, as stated above, regarding transparency with charges. Our dog had hurt her neck/back. The vet recommend also doing an eye exam on top of the X-ray for the hurt neck/back. We told her to first do the X-ray and then we will decide on the eye exam because it was an additional $60-$70. We wanted to wait to decide because we didn’t know what may be also be needed for our dogs immediate pain (such as medication/surgery) and an eye exam could have been done at our ordinary vet. When we returned to get the results of the X-ray, the vet told us she went ahead and did the eye exam and then proceeded to charge us for it after stating she wasn’t going to.Whenever I asked for an explanation, the vet couldn’t even come out to confront us about this issue and a different staff member comes out to tell us that our bill could have been well over $1000 because the vet gave us more X-rays than agreed to as well as some other tests. She implied that we should be grateful it was just the charge for the eye exam since our bill was about $460. This was beside the point. You don’t do additional work without permission, especially after being specifically told not to, then expect someone to pay for it. Also, letting us know that we should be grateful it wasn’t more only proves the point that the vet did other unnecessary things to our dog without first obtaining permission first.

I have been a faithf client of The Pet Hospital since the day I moved here in 2011and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for the care of my 4 legged children. Both the ones that have pasted and the present. I say past because we've had two babies that have died since then.

I absolutely love this place. My fur babies are family, and that’s exactly how they treat them. We had to recently put one of our babies down, and they were so kind during that process. We now have a new baby and have forgotten all of the puppy stages and needs and they have been so helpful. We also have a rare cat and they have been super helpful and knowledgeable with her as well. With their level of knowledge and professionalism I would expect to pay a fortune, but I have been pleasantly surprised with each visit. I will never go anywhere else again.

I came to the Pet Hospitals in a crisis on a Sunday. From calling for an emergency appointment to followup care, the physicians and staff were wonderful. Staff and Dr kept me appraised of the cost as we made decisions (which were 30% lower than I anticipated), were kind, treated my sick pet and me with kindness and compassion. I am so grateful for their multiple locations, quality of care, and value, especially in a sad and stressful situation.

The Pet Hospital at Massey is right off Poplar in between east Memphis and Germantown, tucked behind the Chick FIL A. The staff is knowledgeable and professional and they offer a wide variety of services (including grooming) with reasonable prices and great quality. They treat your little fur ball like family and make the whole experience comfortable, no matter what needs to be done. A+

I used to take my fur babies there both of them. I moved away and just got my first disability check trying to save a little money asked them to give me a prescription for heartworm medicine she said she will have to ask the doctor for approval and the day passed chewy watinng for approval called the day after I asked if they will approve it and the receptionist said they do not have a request for approval instead of telling me they do not do that she lied saying they did not get a request for prescription to be fulled but I gave chewy the phone number and zip code and the pet hospitals name so chewy did call . The pet hospitals will lie to you. They should have called me the day I asked if they would do that and said the dr would not approve that but rather they choose to lie making me wait. They should know their policy and be honest same day.not having heartworm medicine very important. So they do not care if you are financially are suffering. I had these two fur babies dogs for a little over 6 years I could not handle giving one away I could not choose one over the other. I know I I like private ownership veterinary clinics because I think they care about people because they are not a big corporation like ban field but maybe banfield is better because they are everywhere.

I love The Pet Hospitals. It’s the only place in Memphis that I’ll take my cats. It’s difficult finding a pet hospital that isn’t centered solely around dogs, but The Pet Hospitals has so many resources for all animals.Dr. Bug is a personal favorite of mine! We've had our dog, Daisy, for a little over a year. We used a different vet with our previous dog, and The Pet Hospitals has a noticeable difference in their attention to service. Even simple things like having a vet technician there who's primarily handling the pet, comforting them, and giving them treats goes a long way to help the pet feel positive about the visit (and hopefully not pay as much attention to the shot nurse).I've used their online chat on their website and got friendly, thorough responses.The Pet Hospitals tries to make vet visits pleasant for both the owner and pet.

I love the Pet Hospitals! The staff is so kind, and the vets are are amazing and really care about our pets. I highly recommend the Poplar/Massey location, Dr. Pirtle and Dr. McAdams are wonderful people. I can't say my dog enjoys going to the vet, but they make it as easy for him as possible =)

Their staffing is really good, their vets treat your furry ones excellent but when it comes to diagnosis they need to go deeper, my cat is still with allergies and we’ve gone there 3 times. Everybody here is lovely and i love the place but i had to look for another hospital

My 15 year old chihuahua fell off of my bed and hurt his little leg. Living in Oxford, MS I knew I would not find a vets office open in my area. Of course my dog knew where we were going. We made the trip up to Memphis and I could not have had a better experience. My moody little man was all about being carried by new people and baby talked. He was such a sport. He is fine but I needed to be sure since he is older. I was told the office would contact me for follow up info and pass along his X-rays, and they did just that. Seeing how calm he was during this experience makes me think it would be worth switching his provider. Thank you Dr. Bugg and staff!

The first time we took Brady to the Pet Hospitals we thought he was seriously ill. Luckily, he wasn’t but the staff treated him exactly the way we needed them to. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We were very pleased with the same day service we received. We decided that this would be our vet! Now, Brady has had shots and his nails clipped as well. We highly recommend them. They understand that our pet is a member of our family.

The staff at the Pet Hospitals Poplar Massey are incredible. Our very special and disabled baby Gatsby was cared for with the most love and attention I’ve ever seen from anyone outside of our household. Even after having to make very difficult decisions, the staff were there to hold our hands and walk with us every single step of the way. I’m so thankful that these people were the ones to help us navigate his treatment and passing. Such a great hospital with knowledgeable and compassionate staff!
