We visited the Peanut Shoppe during our Memphis trip a couple of weeks ago and was immediately greeted by Rida! What an amazing historical shop! Rida took us in and shared with us the history of the Peanut Shop and provided us samples of some of the best nuts we’ve ever tasted! He was so welcoming and friendly and was truly glad we stopped in!! He even gave Shannon a peanut roasting lesson! Can’t say enough great things about our visit there! So glad we stopped in! Thanks Rida!!

Visiting this shop was a beautiful experience all on its own! We will absolutely go back. The spicy roasted pecans are phenomenal. They have some delicious specialty Turkish desserts that are fantastic. However, the best part was the wonderful and playful owner, who served us tea as we tasted different items, told us history and stories of his life and the Shoppe, and made us laugh and smile. He and his daughter were extremely helpful and caring. I felt like I was stepping I to another time and place, where you are meant to take your time and taste and try things, and swap jokes and stories. Wonderful experience that made Memphis even more memorable.

Awesome selection of sweet and salty treats! Visiting from California, stepped into this charming shop for a snack and we were met with the most welcoming owner and his daughter. Not only did we get some great snacks, but we were given many recommendations for good food and fun in the area. So friendly!

The Peanut Shoppe is a Memphis institution!! I have known the owner, Rida, for almost 20 years. I used to walk by his old location after a workout at a local gym and smell him roasting nuts. I walked in one day and we struck up an immediate friendship. We moved from Memphis 16 years ago but every time I go back he warmly greets me. He recently moved to a new location on South Main just a block from the Peabody Hotel. This is the finest nut shop in the country. He roasts daily all kinds of nuts and has lots of different types of candies. Everything he has is amazing! He also lots of memorabilia that takes you back to a bygone era. Treat yourself and come get some amazing nuts and candies and walk away with a smile from his warm personality.

Such a unique and enjoyable experience. We stayed for a few minutes and drank tea with the owner while a fresh batch of peanuts roasted. We also nibbled in some baklava and other treats. Definitely stop in if you’re in the area!

Our best stop in Memphis!! Rida is the most amazing man with the kindest heart. We are so lucky to have walked in his shop. I’m pretty sure we spent over an hour in the shop just talking and letting the kids play. Last night when I was putting my son in bed he asked if we could go back to Memphis when he turns 6 to go see Rida! 😍 seriously the warm peanuts and candy were just a bonus to the experience and fun we had with Rida. I promised my son and daughter that we will definitely go back there when he is 6.

Happily went to make a purchase and inform him of what I wanted (not noticing a sign asking not to touch anything) while picking up a couple bags of tea leaves I’ve enjoyed before. Completely sure of the purchases I was about to make. The owner snapped at me for it, no biggie-kinda ruined my mood but I’ll just leave. Before I could even make it to the door he felt the need to scold me yelling from over the counter questioning my literacy. I hadn’t said anything to provoke him, which after being verbally attacked is honestly not my usual response. I chose peace today. I just simply made a decision to turn and leave.I’m not sure who has stolen from this place in the past but everybody isn’t a thief and although my money may not be needed, my kids and I will not return to be treated poorly. Wish you the best in business.

Amazing customer service from the owner! I believe we visited the new location as the store had to recently move but the quality of the items were still the same! Popcorn was fresh and to die for! The array of peanuts and candy he has blew our mind. A must stop by!

This place is wonderful with all varieties of specialty nuts and assorted candies. However, I must mention the owner. The owner is one of the most beautiful souls I've ever met. He shared so much of his life with us and it was a truly amazing experience. I will never forget his kindness and genuine spirit. I'm so thankful we decided to walk into his shop. This man knows how to curate the most delicious nut varieties and he is incredibly knowledgeable of much in life. It was a joy to go into his shop and an unforgettable experience in the best way possible.

Walking down Historic Main Street in Memphis and happened across this peanut shop. It is a 5 generation shop with old fashioned equipment that is still working. Owner was very friendly and the products were very fresh and delicious. He had chocolate and other candy also. A must stop if in the area.

This has been the highlight of our trip to Memphis. We've been to Beale Street, BB Kings, Central BBQ, Gus's Fried Chicken, and Graceland. The Peanut Shoppe tops them all. We chatted with the owner for more than 20 minutes. He taught us about peanuts, the history of the shop, we chatted about our families, etc. The nuts are delicious, but the lesson and company are even better!

Our favorite stop in Memphis! So much so we went twice in one day! The owner is an incredibly kind, passionate man who taught us much about life and nuts. And the nuts are delicious! I. Love. This. Place !!!We first walked in only knowing about it due to recommendation, but holy cow- this place will make your day. The owner is hilarious and truly nice. He sang me happy birthday and just genuinely gave us a good time. His candy and his other products are also unbelievably good!! (Recomending the fruit slices.)His vibe and the decor will truly make this an experience. VISIT WITH KIDS!! 😆😆😆

My family took a trip to Memphis for Spring Break and the Peanut Shoppe came up as an activity to do... Well, it's not an activity, it's an EXPERIENCE! We went in planning to just look at what they had and their really cool decorations, but came out with much more.Rida, the owner, knows everything about the business. As I saw in other post, he can give you a history lesson of the store, the machine that roasts the nuts and of the various nuts... We weren't sure about getting any nuts (because we weren't very hungry at the time) and he told us we would if we tasted his favorite the "Virginia red skin peanut". Sure enough, we ended up buying some after we gave it a taste.As we talked he said he was happy that we came to see him in Memphis, but why did we not go to the one in Columbus Ohio since we are from there. We had no idea we had one 20 mins from our house.... I've lived in Columbus for 35 years.Rida is awesome with kids. He knows exactly where they should stand so parents can get the best pictures. When my daughter asked for a stamp for her stamp book, he stamped it and gave her stickers to go along with it. This is a must do !

I visited the peanut shop after getting a cup of ice cream from next door. When I walked in with the cup of ice-cream the guy behind the counter told me in an extremely rude manner not to waste the ice-cream. Please!!!!! He could have told me in a better way. I promptly left. I was a tourist from out of town and would have went back outside to hand the ice-cream to my daughter. He was hostile. He has 4 one star reviews from the past that he apparently did not comment on. Obviously I didn't see the sign. Wrong attitude but to each their on.

5 stars does not even do this place justice!! I have never been into a place with better service than The Peanut Shoppe. Not only was everything that we tasted was delicious but learned so much from Rida and Nura about all the nuts. I could NOT recommend this place more and is a must stop while in Memphis!

Rida, the owner is amazing. He's so much fun to talk with and he's quite thoughtful. I'm a bilateral amputee and without me asking he brought me a chair. I was extremely grateful. The nuts and candy are fantastic. The pepita's have always been my favorite and they are best from The Peanut Shoppe. We bought some local honey and it is amazing. The baklava is delicious! The Peanut Shoppe is a must for everyone. It's a Memphis tradition.
