If you are reading this review this is a sign to never purchase anything from this place. They are the biggest scammers ever. They pray on low income people, so that they ruin your credit and make money off of you. Their dogs are overpriced. I paid 6,000+ for a dog that’s worth maybe a 1,000. They put miscellaneous fees that they don’t mention in the price for the dog. They talk very fast so you don’t know what you’re getting into. Do not sign anything that they tell you to. It will hurt you in the long run. My credit tanked 68+ point after financing with them. They max out credit cards in your name without telling you and give out sick dogs. They may talk to you nice, but their customer service is horrible. BEWARE! If you do have an issue with your dog do not call. Go to the store because they will purposely not return your calls so that they can wait you out of your warranty. Don’t get a credit card from them because you can even get anyone on the phone if you have an issue. Not a reputable credit card at all.

Katie I think that’s her name she talks to loud I feel like if I wanted the entire store to know why I couldn’t get a puppy I could have announced it to everyone myself. I told her I seen what the email stated as the decision she still repeated it loudly as there were other customers near. I asked her repeatedly about the price she still was talking about papers for the dog, I simply wanted to know the price and how the payments worked. Other than her letting the store know my business. The visit was very nice puppies are well kept and beautiful. I will be back but will ask for different representative.

Amazing place. You can tell the dogs are loved and cared for. The workers are awesome and very helpful. I got a Blue Heeler and a Cocker Spaniel from here and they are an absolute joy. They were well socialized and weren’t scared of people, and got along well with my first furry friend. And have done extremely well with our newborn. They were very healthy and I’ve had no issues with them. Definitely recommend getting a puppy from here.

The store is a okay. The employees are good but I continuously asked the girl for the price of the puppy & he continued to talk to me about paperwork & payments etc but all I wanted was to know the price. Another thing about the puppies …..why are they so overpriced? You’re telling me I’m going to pay 5k for a dog? No ma’am. Dogs are cute & very well taken care of but no Im definitely not buying a pet from here.

We went during the week just to sit and play with a few pups, no intension of buying. Well, we see the cutest..not quite a puppy down on the end in a kennel all by herself. She was surrender. We immediately told staff we wanted her. Everyone was so kind and quick to help us even though they were all busy with potentially higher sales. Will definitely be back even if I can't afford to adopt from them.

I bought a snake from this store and it was immediately acting weird, and got sick. I have kept snakes for years and never had an issue with them until now. It died less than 4 days after getting it home and the store Is refusing to work with me regarding my purchase claiming they did no wrong doing.

The staff obviously love the pets, I think that's very important. They were also nice to us and everyone else as far as I could see. Only criticism is the online photo of the puppy we were there to check out. There should be something in the puppy photo for size perspective. Something like a football for male dogs or a Barbie Doll for female puppies. If it wasn't that we are very partial to the breed we probably wouldn't have went to see it. Well we did see him and he's a precious little guy so thank you!

I have found my happy place. Just being able to see breeds of puppies not present in my city brings me a happiness I can't explain. Also you get to play with them too! I know I will be getting my fur baby from here soon.

One star just because I went to the website and they won’t tell you the prices. If you can’t tell me the prices then you’re doing some fishy business behind the scenes. Just put your prices up so I can decide rather or not I can afford to make the purchase or not. I’m not about to waste my time waiting and called it and writing an email. What the point of having a website if your not going to give me all the information I’m looking for.

I’ll be perfectly honest, in the past I worked for some highly rated Petland‘s. I always have been the number one sales person because of my knowledge of dog psychology and training. I always fit the right dog with the right person. I worked for this place for one month, gratefully I was terminated because I stood up to the owner and a very nasty customer! I Started to figure out that he was buying from puppy mills! I bought a Pekingese and have spent a fortune on this dog because of genetic allergies and a very sensitive stomach! It cost me $1300 at the dermatologist to make him a happy and comfortable dog! Not speaking as a former employee, but speaking as a customer. This man never contacted me back when I complained about these issues. The dermatologist told me to tell the owner Mike Davis to contact breeders and have the parents of my dog spayed and neutered. Once again I never heard back from this man, and he claimed my review was based on sour grapes. Not true! I’ve made 100 thousand dollars this past year with my training business, because I get results and I’m a top trainer in the city! My reviews are outstanding! And I can’t say much for his reviews! I was contacted by a client today that said when she contacted the breeders, that it turned out to be a puppy mill! and she has proof of this! There are really great Petland‘s in this country and he is not one of them. Glad I figured out within a month what he was all about. He marks the dogs up over 100% over cost! He hires young people that he continually terminates if they can’t sell puppies. And to be perfectly honest they have no training or knowledge of canines! And it is not their fault! He is a mean and nasty owner and cares nothing for his clients! Or employees. This client also told me she tried to contact this man and he never responded! I am in no way blaming the employees! there are some really good people there! I pray every day that he gets shut down! I have never said that about the former owner that I worked for at the Petland, in Overland Park Kansas as well as Iowa! They have since retired but continue to be great and honest people! Do not buy puppies from this man who is dishonest and greedy! If he had refunded some of my money I probably wouldn’t have written about him and left it alone.

all of the cages were filthy along with all of the reptile kits have very improper care for these animals. this store does not care about any of the smaller animals and reptiles

Love Josh and Kristine they go above and beyond to make sure you are completely satisfied with your purchase. I’ve never had any problems with any of my pups from there and have purchased several. Every time I go in they are happy and very well taken care of. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a great pup with a very great experience.

We have come here multiple times to come play with puppies and help my sister find the right one. The staff meets you at the door and is friendly and knowledgeable and these puppies are so sweet and eager to play or just be loved on! I recommend this store to anyone looking for the perfect addition for their family!

Had an amazing time at pet land today! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They for sure got the cutest puppy’s here in Memphis. Definitely would recommend if looking for a dog, bird, rabbit, ect. The store provides you with everything you need to start a great journey with your new animals. I come here all the time and I have never been disappointed. Sending all love to pet land!

I visited Petland on 10/18 with my son to browse their small animal section, but I was disappointed to find a very limited selection. I also had intentions of browsing reptile habitats, but the back two rows were obstructed by boxes, making them inaccessible. I'll have to return at a different time to complete my shopping.

I hate that I’m even required to give one star. The cages are filthy, unkempt, and the dogs are not healthy. I wish I could expect better from a certified PUPPY MILL. I guarantee you the store will respond to this post saying the dogs come from “reputable breeders”. FALSE. If you care about the health of animals in this country, do NOT support backyard breeding and puppy mills. It’s disgusting that in 2023 Petland stores still exist

We’ve come in here multiple times and have always been impressed with the experience. Very clean environment and staff is always very attentive. They make sure all their costumers are happy and they answer all the questions we asked. Love the team that they have here! we are super excited about our new Husky baby!

Let’s talk about this nightmare and the lawsuit we are dealing with over the lies and vet bills .. we got two ferrets from here. We were told that they were fully vetted.. we were charged $1200 for two ferrets. This turned out to be a lie as well we were only supposed to be charged 500 for each. But the young man charged us an extra 200 and if we hadn’t come back we wouldn’t have gotten that money back. We went to the vet after and the paperwork was very off.. I attached pictures. Both of the refund for the pricing “mix up” and how off all the paperwork is. We came back within two hours. They ARE NOTgetting the ferrets from the company they claim to be. And we have requested the county to look into all animals. We are in a small claims lawsuit until this is handled and the vet bills are paid for the animals. DO NOT GO HERE, you’ll love the animals and be told anything you want to hear. NONE of it is true. The animals are still alive but had to have their shots, be fixed and de-scented . One is female and one is male. So don’t believe them when they say they only get male small animals.

I financed a $4,000 puppy for $3,600. After taking him to the vet, I returned him because of a health condition that would require surgery and very likely to cause other major health issues in the future. I informed Petland Memphis of my vet report and they offered me 2 choices: 1. Keep the puppy and they would cover the vet costs up to the purchase price. 2. Return the puppy and all his original paperwork for store credit towards the purchase of another animal. They then resold the puppy within 3 days of me returning him. If by chance they did not know of his health issues at the time of my purchase, the DEFINITELY knew before, during and after my return. Now back to the financing part of it.. instead of them returning the $3,600 they received from the finance company because I DID INDEED return the puppy and Josh being the guy who I handed him to, they kept the the money from the finance company and now I am being held responsible for paying the balance!!! They literally got paid twice from the sale of 1 puppy. I am more than willing to give back this store credit card if they would give the finance company BACK THIER MONEY. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone for anything but I am DEFINITELY willing to sign a petition to close them down! I feel like they are absolutely taking advantage of people.

This place was awful. As soon as I walked in I could notice a stout and really stronger than normal smell. The rats and some mice were put in a corner away from everything else, where no one could hardly see. The puppies hardly had proper beds, just being a paper thin blanket and a few toys. There was bird poop on the floor everywhere. The birds were shaking, and losing feathers. The parakeets and budgies were crowded together and put in a cage very low to the ground with barely any space to move around or perch in. They let the customers touch the guinea pigs,mice,and rabbits. They also let the customers bang and punch the animal cages. I wouldn't recommend coming here l, but I'd feel to bad for the animals because they wouldn't be adopted and taken away from that place.

Love this Petland and the employees there, they aren’t pushy, the pups are very loved and taken care of, the store is always clean, mgmt goes above and beyond to help you. We personally have purchased 4 happy healthy pups from here and will continue to do so. Not 1 problem with any of our pups. Definitely recommend!

Poorly run business. Several of the teens that work there are rude. We asked to see several of the pups but they wouldn't let us see a few of them. It seems they were holding them for other customers or said they can't get the pup out with no reason given. The couple that we got to see were visibly sick. I will never return. We went to Puppy Dreams and received excellent service. We bought a healthy puppy from them.
