Exceptional service!Stopped in here for the first time ever to pick up a new generator and was blown away by the store. There were tons of great, everyday, practical things for sale from work gloves to generators to extension cords to power washers. The store is clean and well organized with clear signage and well lit.I needed a new generator and had been eyeballing the Honda EU2200. NT price is lower than the blue, big box store so I decided to check it out. NT also offers a military discount which is very considerate of those who serve our nation.Tiffany did a great job serving me for this purchase and she even reminded me that I would need some oil for the generator (gave me the exact right kind).In addition to the generator, I bought a 100-foot HD extension cord (also less expensive than the other store). I absolutely will be back here for future purchases.

I called up there to see if a $600 dollar product was available. It rang for a while then someone finally answered, (meaning the ringing stopped and I could hear the bustle of the store and breathing on the phone.) I greeted them and asked if they had this item in stock. The person on the other end of the phone began talking to someone else then put me on hold. Without any acknowledgment of my existence at all. I hung up after 5 minutes.I’ve never bought anything from northern tool before and I found they had a product I was looking for online available to order so I figured I’d go buy it in store if they had it but didn’t want to drive there if they didn’t have it in stock. I guess I’ll call another hardware store maybe their customer service is a little better.Reply to your reply:That feels a very condescending. It takes 2-3 seconds to simply say “northern tool, please hold.”Instead they answered didn’t say anything to me for 30 seconds then put me on hold for several minutes. I understand things get busy if you’re too busy to answer then just don’t answer the phone… or greet them (acknowledge their existence and tell them to hold like every other business)

Man this place is like grown up Toys R US. Loved the many different brands sold here and loved a hidden clearance section as well! I'm worse than my husband with buying tools, so we will be back! Only reason for 4 stars, in the batteries all of them were in the wrong spots. So what we took to the counter was priced way off from what was on the shelf. That and the service could've been more friendly. But hey I came for tools not conversation, so I really just hope they fix the stock in the wrong places!

Horrible experience with their repair department. Don't recommend their repair service at all. I took my walk behind saw to them for repair of the switch because the switch came apart and because the machine was not starting. They did make the machine start yet they never put the switch on. According to them it's not necessary for the switch to be on there, but how is it possible that I sent in my saw for repair and the switch was not fixed. This was obviously done because that's what came easier for them and they decided to take shortcuts and now I pay the price. After noticing that on my machine I went back in the store to complain and they decided to hide in back and not come out until I decided to continously ask for assistance. Another incident that I had when picking up my machine was that they were charging me $100 more than what they told me in the first place I asked them to check that and they were indeed overcharging me. I don't recommend their service because not only do they take shortcuts but they are also dishonest when it comes to charging.

I ordered a generator online for same day pick up. Received an email stating it will not be for pick up until the following monday. The website is deceivious, they tell you, you can pick something up the same day. That the item is in stock.... knowing the item is not in stock.Customer service is of no help. The customer service for this company is trash. I will not buy anything from them again. I can't even get anybody in this store on the phone in person. The phone just rings and rings. You have lost a customer

First time shopping at Northern Tool and the experience was unheard of these days. The staff, everyone I came in contact with, was so friendly and helpful. I then had to make a return and had the same experience. It is so refreshing to receive great customer service! This store is not close to me but I will be making the drive more often simply because of the service received. I then had an issue with receiving the warranties I purchased with my order and had to call for support; to my surprise, great customer service again. Problem resolved within minutes. Please keep up the good work. :-)

The qaulity of the tools is great but lets talk service because to be frank its a Nightmare and that may be an understatement . First i ordered my 2 orders for pick up but since each had one item that was not available at location they were automatically converted ship to store.Not the single item but the whole order even though the site showed only the single item to be ship to store.A big warning about the shipping at northern...Its sporadic extremely slow and almost never on time. Ive waited months for my orders before and customer service is no help whatsoever. The last order I referenced the store had all but 1 item of my orders ($3000 dollars worth) in stock but customer service and management were powerless to remedy the situation by giving me what i ordered for pickup and replacing stock when it arrived to thier store . Next Ship to store is an even worse nightmare its been 4 weeks since it was supposed to be at the store. They never call to let you know its in so your stuck calling week after week after the arrival date i picked up everything but my gas can last night almost 5 weeks late and they informed me my gas can had already been picked up but i doubt it becuase you can get a bottle of liquour without an ID easier than pick up an order here without one. Of course they told me they cant access the order because its closed out and pushed me off onto customer service due to it being close to closing. As ive mentioned customer service is worthless and have no real way to remedy anything. Lastly they have shorted me a gift card of 100 bucks off one order leaving me out 250 bucks between the gas tank and the card. Very dissapointing considering ive spent over 10k a year with them for several years straight now. Thats come to an end though i wont spend anything unless I lack an alternative now. Buyer Beware!

Great store, really wanted the x-fer switch kit for a generator hook up... probably will go back for that , but I got the battery charging solar panels that I was looking for , love those chargers they keep all my equipment ready to crank and 12v pumps ready to pump with no AC for a good price

Poor customer service . Purchased a 3 in 1 welder got home opened it up it was just a mig welder in the wrong box . Returned it the next day . Was given a refund without any questions asked . I asked about getting the right welder and was told " I don't told him I checked yesterday all we have is the mig welder." Which ment they knew it was the wrong welder in the beginning. I asked if they had any other welders and was told I would have to find a different institution, that they could no longer help me at this time.

I placed a order on Friday August 5th 2022 online for store pickup and the order was canceled. so I called the store to check availability and was told there were non instock by a salesman named Steve. I called back and got the store manager who said they had 2 of the crane I needed and that I could call the next morning to have it set aside for me to come and get it since I live an hour from the store. I called the next day and was told by Steve again that it was out of stock so I had someone else call. And they were able to get one set out so we headed to the store to pick it up. I'm still waiting on my online refund and will never understand why I was lied to

Mixed bag. Staff and management can be helpful or lackluster, products can be stellar or dreadful. Purchased two yard carts here and both were defectively built. When I assembled the first cart and saw the welds were wrong and the axle did not allow the cotter pin to be inserted, I called and returned the cart. Exchanged for another one. The manager helped me get the partially assembled one in the store. Said there was a pallet of the carts so "if I had problems with the next one, there were more." I should have stopped right there.Opened and assembled the second yard cart only to find different manufacturing errors. Put it in the car and drove to northern tool where a different manager was unhelpful to the extreme. Despite driving there twice, now three times and assembling two, yet having no actual functioning cart, I asked to have one that was already assembled so I could be sure the parts were all there. I was told I could PAY for assembly. Apparently my efforts were not remotely valued. After some debate, I politely returned the defective cart and left the store. Never to return.

Great selection of tools and parts with fairly cheap shipping and your orders arrive quicker than many other websites . My refund on the first order like this one will happen in a day or two and now your website has my residence confirmed .
