I ordered 2 tons of Alabama Sunset on today April 18, 2024. I did not get what I ordered. I did not accept the load and did not allow the driver to dump it.Called the store. They stated that they would look at the load when returned and refund my money. Stated that I must pay the delivery charge.The truth is the driver made the mistake and loaded the wrong stone, plus the driver did not load the amount ordered, which was 2 tons. It was so much lower than the 2 tons ordered, I could eyeball it, and make that judgement based on my last order of 1 ton.Truth is this was a TERRIBLE EMPLOYEE. he bad mouthed them and stated that they make mistakes all of the time and he get the backlash for it when he deliver to customers. He stated that he is leaving the store in one month because they make too many mistakes. He loaded less than the 2 tons I ordered. He appeared to KNOW he had the wrong thing because he got out of the truck saying, "I read the ticket, I think I read it right: Is this what you ordered"After they totally mixed up my order , they kept the delivery fee,.I ordered from them before, but I will never order from them again.They allow their drivers to pick and load orders, where as all employees can be trusted to give good service.I will never use them again.

The individual I spoke with on the phone exhibited a discourteous demeanor. During my inquiry regarding the various types of mulch listed on the website, his tone lacked friendliness and conveyed a condescending attitude. Despite my genuine interest in purchasing mulch, I was made to feel as though I was inconveniencing him. This lack of appreciation for my inquiry has left me apprehensive about proceeding with a purchase from this company.

I grabbed a load of sand and a load of mulch. I was in and out in no time at all. Great size scoops and much better priced than other places I have been to. Super friendly folks inside that take time to talk toyou. They make sure you are getting the right thing for your project. I will be back!!!

Update (08/02/19): I was contacted by an employee who apologized for the issues I had with my sod. I was given a $95 credit to use on mulch, as he said this is their main staple of business. In light of this, I have raised my review from 1 star to 3.I can't stress this enough - do NOT do business with these people. I was charged $95 for 33-35 pieces of sod (they charged me a load fee even though I did most of the work myself while a very young girl helped). When I was shown the sod stack to pull from, I made a comment to the worker about the fact that the sod was completely brown & the 2 pallets I had purchased from Winstead Farms the day before was a gorgeous green already. She stated that it was dormant and with water and heat, it would green up very quickly. I should have cancelled the sale at that point, but being the trusting person I am, I gave them the benefit of the doubt.As instructed, I laid the sod and treated it well/gave it time. It has now been a month with nothing but warm weather and I've been on a strict watering regimen, and yet the sod I paid $97 is STILL DEAD. When comparing it to the sod purchased from a different company & laid just one day before, it is so obvious that they sold me bad sod. My Winstead Farms sod is literally THRIVING and the products I was sold here have not changed AT ALL since being laid - the only green that is seen here are weeds that have worked their way through the pieces.

Great quality garden soil mix. The young man that delivered it was awesome, an excellent driver of the dump truck I received 10 cubic yards placed right where I wanted it. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was very helpful with directing me to the right kind of soil and how to calculate how much I needed. Very happy with this company and my delivery.

Got a dump truck full of their garden mix delivered to my home. Price and quality were good. Delivery was exactly when they stated it would be and the driver was professional; he dropped it right where I wanted it with minimal direction. Excellent service, good product, and fast delivery.

Nature's Earth has excellent customer service and fair prices. I called them at least 4 times to ask them a lot of questions about my landscaping project. Everyone I spoke with vas very knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions. I've had one delivery so far and that was timely as well.

Rude on the phone. I called about some rocks for my yard and the phone operator started arguing with me and raising his voice. There are other places that are cheaper with better customer service.

Well, I ordered 3 tons of pea gravel and some field stones from them this week. Their driver felt confident he could make it down my drive way. After two attempts, I'd lost 5 driveway path lights and several hedges. I called the shop immediately (the driver acknowledged he had hit these before leaving) and supplied the requested photos. I'm now 4 days after, having extreme difficulty reaching the manager. Neither the office or the manager's number has a voicemail set up.I'll just host my events this weekend with the garbage left in the yard from the bad delivery.I'm happy to update this review once I receive communication and amenable repair to the damaged property.--------------Update 3/31/2020. After some long discussions with the manager, they agreed to refund a little less than half of what I spent. I am very appreciative of this. Everyone should be aware if you purchase from this company that part of their terms of service apparently waves all damage to your property. They did try to exercise this with me initially but I am again thankful that they refunded some of the product.

I have purchased garden soil, screened dirt, and crushed gravel here about six times a year over the past five years. Only good experiences.Special kudos to the loader drivers for being careful not to send people out with too much weight on the back of a trailer (trailers will whip violently at highway speed if they don't have tongue weight), and taking care to avoid damage while pouring gravel into a customer's pickup bed.I am sure a lot of would be competitors hesitate when they see how well this run and then factor in the pricing which is not on the expensive side.The few negative complaints revolve around rudeness or sod issues. I have found the employees to be reasonable and not rude. Mileage may vary depending on how busy they are. Most of their sales involve loading assistance. First time customers need help getting to the correct place to load. The clerks get stressed and perhaps this comes off as rude but I am more irritated when a sales clerk treats me badly on a day when they are not extremely busy.The yard layout could use some improvement. I respectfully suggest;- One entry, one exit.- Better signage! - with posted hours including a gate closing time.- Re-configuring the yard to provide some customer parking.- A concrete slab for loading out customers with the front end loaders.- One clerk at the entrance separating shoppers/buyers from the people who are ready to get loaded. He collects the money from those who know what they want and are ready to load, but need to pay first. These customers go straight to the load line and don't have to park or turn around while pulling a trailer. This (along with a single entrance) would make the traffic flow work much better. The 2nd clerk helps customers who have questions or need to look at the decorative stone selection.Great job of responding to unhappy customers and for calling out the fake review! The best review of all is the unhappy guy who added that you had gotten in touch with him and the two of you resolved the problem. Management obviously cares about the customers.

I am a passionate gardener and have been growing produce for many years and this year we ordered mulch, garden soil, and compost from this company. We made garden beds 1 foot deep and filled them with garden soil and bought healthy seedlings from Home Depot and Walmart and. To our surprise nothing is growing even after1.5 months with good care of them.

Very helpful employees, especially the "Devil Dog" at the desk at the Summer location. Recieved my gravel in a reasonable amount of time for delivery. Driver drove up with a smile and dumped exactly where I wanted it. He thanked me and drove off without damaging my yard with that big ole truck. Great experience will definitely purchase more from you all!!!!

If you see this company on the road, make sure you steer very clear of any of their vehicles because they will let a rock fly out of the back and hit your windshield and then tell you that they assume zero responsibility.

Summer Location. I have been buying firewood from them for years and have always been satisfied till 10/19. The prices went up which is to be expected but the quality and quantity of firewood has changed. This early in the season and the wood is not only green I received but about 2/3 of what they normally have given me. Called to complain and was given no resolution.Justin G. from Nature's Earth followed up with me in regards to my issues and listened to what I had to say and we came to a fair resolution to my issue. I appreciate the fact they made a point to resolve my issue the same day. Good customer service and I will return as a customer!

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely horrible customer service. They pride themselves on prompt service and it's a joke. Was told sod would be delivered on Tuesday. Then called back to find out it would be the next day. So my wife and I took Wednesday off so that we could lay it immediately only to find out that it would not be delivered until Thursday. So now we are going to have $800 of sod left sitting in our driveway all day and pray that nothing is stolen while we are at work. And all that have to say is whoops. I'm sorry. I will never use natures earth for anything ever again nor will I recommend them for anything ever again. Good luck if you choose to use them.

I went in the Summer Avenue location to speak about their riverstone product. I needed 2 1/2 tons. I asked about delivery to 38125 which is shelby county and suddenly the conversation changed to I needed to buy a 5 ton minimum. Not sure if I was being taken for a ride or what but my question is what the H#LL does it matter if the delivery charge was the same whether it was 3 tons or 5 tons? Either way Bob's Tie yard took care of me.

I made 6 new raised gardens and bought several truckloads if the garden soil with a mix of dirt, compost, sand and pine needles. I planted several vegetables and was having troubles with them growing or flowering. I took a sample of my garden soil for a free soil test. I found out that this product they sell is not garden ready. It was lacking several nutrients to make it garden ready to plant.Please take the time to have your soil tested wherever you purchase it from to make sure all your hard work is not in vain.

Absolutely the best materials and service in the tri-state area! Truly a local American female owned business! They have gone above and beyond for the residents of the south with there small business hands on approach! Please keep in mind when shopping here that it is wholesale driven as well, so walking or parking haphazardly without paying attention will wreak havoc on the efficiency and order of operations that you are oblivious to! I wanted to see what type of rock they had a driver in a front loader started yelling at me that I couldn’t go see the rock as all kinds of non-employees were mingling around back by the mulch and close to the rock. There are plenty of other places that are glad to show what they have to offer.

This is a bad place to buy Bermuda sod. I've recently purchased a pallet of Bermuda. The sale person told me that they stock only fresh sod and it is delivered daily. Long story short, sod was very dry, yellow and rooted into each other. From what I see I would conclude that this Bermuda was seating on this pallet at least for a week! So, you are paying $136 for a pallet of dry and half dead grass instead of $70 at a sod farm for freshly cut Bermuda. Here is the trick... They will force you to sign a waiver that they are not responsible if this sod will die or will not grow.

My husband and I were very excited to start our first garden and spent roughly $500 creating a framed 20X5X12 space for our raised garden. We chose Nature's Earth products on Summer Avenue. My husband arrived and told them what we were building and that we needed the best soil to cultivate our plants. They loaded him up with about 2 yards of soil and my husband brought it home. I commented when he brought it home that it looked really light colored like clay but he insisted that he had specifically asked for something for planting. We continued to plant $200 worth of plants. I watered and tended the garden for a few days and immediatley knew something was wrong. The soil was not absorbing any water and my plants were dying. I called Nature's Earth Products on Hwy 64 to get the phone # for the summer location and they advised that there was NO telephone #. I had to leave a message with them and they would get someone to call me back. I left a message detailing my concern and waited for two days. Called again and left another message. Waited two more days. Called again and let them know this was my third attempt. The lady i spoke with apologized and said she would call them and let them know she also verified that what we had received was "screened soil" which was "pretty much clay" and that we were supposed to receive "garden mix". waited two more days. At this point all my plants have died. Called for the fourth time and asked to talk to a manager. The lady i spoke with was very nice and apologized profusely saying she would call the Summer location manager's cellphone. Again, no one ever called back. I am very close to driving to the summer location to talk to them in person. I am appalled by the lack of concern and followup regarding my experience with nature's earth products. As a chain they obviously have no interest in protecting their brand as I assume my messages have been immediatley ignored/discarded. What started out as an exciting experience has turned into me and my husband having NO garden and a huge mound of clay in our yard. We are now facing having to hire people to remove the clay if we want to start over.Unless we were refunded what we paid for the soil and they remove it and replace it with what we requested I dont think I would ever use Nature's Earth Products or reccomend them again. This doesnt even take into account the money, time and energy we have lost on transporting the original "clay", and killing off $200+ worth of plants. I filed a BBB complaint, we’ll see what happens.
