This particular Kroger is in close proximity to my home which is why I shop there. It usually has a good stock. However, SOME of the workers are highly unprofessional with bad attitudes. Also, they often open a few lines though the store is crowded leading to ridiculous wait times to check out. Lines literally stretch down grocery aisles. Three stars for having a good stock and selection most of the time but negative two stars for the unprofessional staff and ridiculous wait times.

Dorothy at self-check is horrible! She's a nasty older woman with an even uglier temperament. I was still charged for gala apples that she put back twice!! Plus, she kept talking back to me even with her manager present....Just had to have the last word! (??) He had to keep calling her name to get her to silence herself. And I thought that he was pretty pathetic for doing that. I would have just told her to clock out and go home 'cos she wasn't providing good customer service anyhow! I will no longer shop at this Kroger even though it's nearest to my location. They can have this Kroger! Most of the time, they are out of stock on several items and can't seem to keep any of the produce bags to put your fruits and veggies in!! Terrible š It certainly doesn't deserve any stars.ššæ

I tried to get cash back and the employee lied to me and said it didnāt go through because the machine wasnāt working. She copped so much attitude with me for no reason. It printed a voucher for her to get the cash out of a register and she tried to pocket my cash back. I waited off to the side to check my bank account & she was walking around with my money. I got my money in the end after calling her out. BE CAREFUL

While I appreciate Kroger and their savings, their self checkout has got to be the worst of any store. It constantly harasses to make sure you scan all items and place them in the bagging area. Now Iām noticing that itās showing video of you as if youāve committed a criminal act. Fortunately the human interaction is good and the employees are extremely helpful. Would be a 5 star review if it wasnāt for their atrocious self checkout system. Kroger, please fix this!

Great atmosphere for shopping. I usually go here mainly because I feel safe. They do have good quality fresh food and very clean. Very good reasons for me to always come back.

They never stay open as late as the advertised time. Always close 10-20 minutes early which is egregious. Workers kinda suck too. I live within walking distance but will never shop here or any Kroger again. I'll stick with Target.

The whole experience today was horrible homeless people sleeping outside in front of the building and inside soon as you walk in blocking the basket area then this location only had one handicap basket and itās a lady that hogs its everyday and they allow her too I forgot she does that so when I arrived today I saw her sitting outside on the handicap cart with it filled to capacity full of items that she was selling and she does this everyday!!! I asked if they could let me use it because I canāt walk far Iām a stroke patient but was denied access because I was told that she comes in every morning and holds the cart and at night she charges it up for the next day I couldnāt believe they allow this the homeless people camping out was one thing the lady hogging the only handicap cart was another thing but what took the cake was when I got to the line the order lady at the register had the nastiest attitude and was complaining and complaining rude told me she couldnāt answer any questions what kind of customer service is that especially at 9 in the morning. The manager here is pathetic looking at all the other reviews posted

I came to this location bc it's listed as being lgbt friendly but what did I encounter ? A group of 2 black men and a black girl, early 20s harassed me all through the store. Definitely won't be back

Can't buy groceries here if you wanted to. Checkout lanes run down the aisles while self checkout is available. The attendant was turning customers away from self checkout for having greater than 10 items.

I had a pickup order for a few ingredients to make this delectable cherry cheesecake for a client. I waited 15mins for someone to bring my order, but that was fine because I've noticed this Kroger is short staffed.

16FEB2023 visit summary: No one staffed at deli counter (after 5 minutes waiting). Customer service desk closed (realized upon multiple customer inquiries). Last week's sale tags posted on product shelves, which is the primary problem on my visit. I scanned my items (buy 5/save $5) which should have triggered $15 savings. The clerk assisting simply said... your items don't qualify (should have a check-mark on receipt). Instead of attempting to resolve, she voided my entire self-checkout transaction (self-bagging too) and pushed my cart aside.Upon attempting to resolve with the store manager, he acknowledged the incorrect tagging (blaming staffing) and handling at the checkout, but stated "the checkers don't know" and made no apologies for the root problems. Manager offered to correct the transaction price, but my cart/items were now such a mess (needed to be re-scanned too) that I said "no thanks", and left my $175 in groceries to be presumably thrown away. This is my SECOND similar experience in the past three weeks.

Supervisor Cherry needs more training! Sheās very rude and unprofessional! If something is listed at a certain price, there is supposed to be a price override. Then Kroger fix the pricing on the shelf. Not take the item and try to be unprofessional, laughing as if the customer is wrong!

I had an hvac system stolen from my house today and the track showed it at this Kroger. We requested the footage of the parking lot and was denied it by the manager Mr. Easley. Instead of helping to catch these thieves he tells us to submit a request through an email and they would get back to us days later. Insane! To me thatās harboring fugitives. We just needed to confirm the vehicle we have on camera is still the same vehicle. Do better Memphis and Kroger!!

Tiniest Kroger I have ever been so far. Looks archaic. Overall the shop as well as the neighbourhood feels a bit shady. I usually visit the other location of Kroger. Kroger has always been my favorite although this location is not. I visited once to the pharmacy. The pharmacist was nice but the service was slow.

No more Deli. Horrible customer service. Rampant theft. Parking lot is used as a toilet. I've shopped here for 10 years but just can't do it anymore.Old tires litter the parking lot. Burned out dwellings adjacent.There is a reason there are more parking spots at this store than the one on Union.The store is an obvious listing on the "Termination List" at Kroger.

TERRIBLE customer service. But then again 75% of Memphis has terrible customer service with employees with horrible attitudes and manners. I literally get surprised when I get good customer service anywhere in Memphis which is sad because that should be the norm.

To sum up: this place makes zero preparations for peak times, choosing instead to overwhelm their staff. They make no effort to manage customer expectations, as if hour-plus long waits for service without warning or apology are normal.We just waited in the parking lot for 1.5 hours to get our pickup order. We checked in by the app, then by phone, eventually we went inside to get some communication. The staff were clearlyoverwhelmed by holiday weekend business. After being assured someone was filling our order, we waited again in the car. Another half hour later, when our order came, it was missing several items, which the attendant told us we hadnāt ordered. We went home without arguing because we were fed up. At home we got the call that we had left some items behind. Yeah, we did that.Either hire more staff or reduce your pickup slots. We would have chosen a nonpeak time if the peak slots were full. The status quo is poor treatment of staff and customers.

From the way you all treat your customers to the unpleasant smell you are greeted with when you enter... it is unacceptable to close the money center at 2pm, 12 noon or any time before corporate states.

A bit crowded. Aisles are blocked with restocking when I'm there just before noon. Sketchy part of town. The Union Ave store is better but has awful parking. The Kroger in Poplar Plaza to the east of Midtown is easier overall.

Great place to visit where you actually get some help with your needs. Sales were awesome. Click on the coupon and scan your kroger card on your phone. The store was well stocked and clean. Bathroom was cleaned also.

I enjoyed shopping at the Kroger's on Poplar Ave and Cleveland. But I couldn't find the Salad Toppings, I should have asked one of the Employees but my feet had me ready to go home š. But overall I enjoyed myself shopping there and the Cashier were so friendly and nice, very professional. I look forward to coming another day.

Has a lot going on at Krogers, but it's a place with everything from cooked meals including a Starbucks, sandwich station, sushi station, hot food station, seafood station, and a bakery station to household items, pharmaceuticals etcetera. Met a wonderful employee there named Angela that only works Sat & Sundays. Awesome personality and extremely helpful. š forgot to take pics inside from being so overwhelmed at all they had inside šš

AwfulOnly 2 of the self Checkout lanes were working.Hi Kroger,I stay in Downtown Memphis.I stay approximately the same distance from 2 Kroger's, one is on Union Ave. & the other location(Poplar & Cleveland Avenue) Both are 10 minutes from each other.The later location is more in a Black population area.You need to give this location the same attention as the store on Union Avenue.Again 2 self checks working out about 10 and one employee running around taking care of the customers that were actually checking out. The only way the UnionLocation would have these many self check registersNot working is that there would be a power outage.Customers at your Poplar &Cleveland Location should be given the same level of respect and customer Service as the Union Store!!Get it TOGETHER!!

I have never experienced such terrible customer service as I did today at Kroger on Poplar in Cleveland. The girl in charge of the self check lines was going off on everyone. They need to reevaluate their employees especially the ones that are supervisors I have called and tried to get in touch with somebody to no avail. They will not answer the phones. Clearly management does not care how their staff treats the customers. I gave it one star because I couldnāt give it zero.
