I went to the Kroger on Summer and Waring (10/8/23) and they didn't even have the Sanderson Farms Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets that were advertised nor the signage for the digital coupon. This one did. I mainly shop at Kroger and find one or more things wrong at all of them due to either incorrect pricing, missing signage, over charging, and, of course, bad customer service, etc.

For the past few months, everything I get from the freezer section consistently looks like it has been allowed to thaw and re-freeze. Expensive sherbet is extremely icy, ice cream sandwiches and bars are lop-sided and/or the ice cream is pooled in a weird way in on end of the wrapper, frozen pizzas are covered in a layer of ice crystals like they never have been before. I’m paying more for food, yet I’m constantly disappointed in the quality and care taken in what I open when I get home. It seems like it could potentially be a huge food safety issue. What is going on?

Never never never do clicklist pick up at this Kroger. Every single time it takes 30-40 minutes to bring them out. I do clicklist bc I have a baby but he’s roaring mad by the time they come out. They tell me I have no substitutions even though I do. Produce will be days past good to eat. I’ve come at 7:30pm and the employees decided to leave early despite still having pick up orders and I sat in lot until 8, ended up going in and asking and being told nothing they could do they cancelled my order bc they wanted to leave work early and I had to re do my entire order.

Just waited at guest services for 40 min waiting for the employee to come back from 15 min break myself and another customer was told. We spoke to the female manager and she got smart with the other customer and told her she gotta run the floor so we gotta just wait. Another employee with keys walked into the money service and walked out without offering to help I finally walked out and passed 6 employees including the manager all standing at the front talking. The service and demeanor towards customers was horrible. A horrible experience and lack of management and I am also a manager!

Do not shop at this store. As a family of four we like to shop at a variety of grocery stores in Memphis and Kroger has a great selection of wine at reasonable prices. We always use the self check out, because working in a grocery store is hard enough for the employees and it is usually busy. Our kids like to scan the items in our cart and we tend to buy beer and wine regularly. As is the case normally, the attendant came over to check out ID and approve the sale. After doing so we continued to scan our items and bag them. Suddenly, what I can only assume was the manager came over, wig askew, a piece of chicken she was eating in hand, mask hanging off her face full of food, spittle flying out, shouting that "this woman", my wife was "having her child ring up her alcohol". She then removed it from our cart. Even at this point my wife, being the decent person, asked if we needed to check out in a different lane, but the beast of an employee didn't even acknowledge her and left with the items in her possession. Not only was this beyond any experience I have ever heard of, to witness it in person absolutely guarantees we will never step foot in Kroger or any of its affiliated stores for a lifetime. As a Nurse who deals with the worst situations in customer service, to be treated like this in a place of business is intolerable and has no place in civil society. Good riddance to bad service. Thanks for making sure we never have to shop in Kroger again.

I asked an associate why Guest Care and Money Services was closed on a Friday. This lady rudely replied, "because they don't have anyone who can work it." Absolutely ridiculous that a MultiBILLION DOLLAR COMPANY can't PAY FOR BETTER EMPLOYEES!!!

One has to love the rude managers who impose arbitrary limits on items on sale. Don't have any issues with any of the other local Krogers.

Horrible. Every time I go, there is a 20 minute line, and half of their self checkouts closed. They clearly do not care about your precious time.

The selection is ok (usually out if stuff ) but going to self - checkout is ridiculous. When someone has a basketful of groceries and has to checkout and bag themselves is ridiculous. I work all week and I should NOT have to do someone else’s job. Plus think about people who may not have help or the elderly. If I do someone else’s job I should get paid for it or a huge discount. Mom and pop stores will see a GREAT increase in customers!

I would give 0 stars if I could!Kroger on Poplar has shut down all of the checkout lines with a checker and bagger. You now have to use the self-checkout lanes. I was in line 30 to 40 minutes waiting to checkout. One of the employees said that this is a permanent change! 😱😱Some of the self- checkout machines broke down while I was waiting to check out, and the employee had to keep going over to help customers with the machines. My frozen groceries started thawing out while I waited to check out.The C-Suite executives who came up with this idea are idiots! 🤬🤬

The employees at the location on Poplar ave and Highland are generally friendly and helpful but the deli is an exception for some of the workers. Margarette and a few others are always accommodating even though it gets kind of crowded at times but there's a few old gals that make the fried chicken that are rude and grumpy and Robert is always pissed off at something. Needs to take a chill pill!

Beware of their wine SCAM! The prices listed on the labels are fake and fraudulent. They listed a wine for $16.99 and attempted to charge $35.99 for it. Had I not been paying attention, I would have easily been charged double. The employee and floor manager refused to correct the price and acted as it was a huge inconvenience to them that I brought up their incorrect charge. If you can, shop somewhere else. If you can't avoid going here, check your charges very carefully. This location has no qualms with blatant misrepresentation and fraudulent advertising.

The pick up is a mess, there is always something wrong or missing from my order. Recently I’ve started getting calls being told that it won’t be ready until hours after I set my pick up time to. One time they set it back an entire day. Without fail, something is always missing or substituted poorly without notice. I have not encountered a decent employee in the entire time I have used this kroger. After my most recent visit I will not be using this kroger again for my pick ups, I’m willing to drive a little further for a better experience.

In short, i was denied service bc they were closing. Time was 9:51 pm when i went back to the front of the store to grab a shopping cart. We only came to get a watermelon. The self-check out clerk was full of attitude and I've never had such impeccably rude service in throwing customers out, just bc they want to get off work. Where are the good employees anymore?

Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (0 out of 5 stars)Oh, Kroger, where do I begin? It’s like stepping into a parallel universe where customer service goes to die. If you’re looking for a lackluster shopping experience with an overwhelming sense of abandonment, this is the place for you!First and foremost, Kroger seems to have taken the term “self-service” a little too seriously. It’s a game of hide-and-seek to find an employee willing to assist you. And when you finally manage to locate one, they’re either MIA or engrossed in an intense staring contest with a slab of ham, completely oblivious to the customers in need. Now, let’s talk about the deli. Or should I say, “The Deli That Never Was.” It’s like a mythical land, always closed or unstaffed, mocking hungry souls with its tantalizing aroma of sliced meats and cheeses. And on the rare occasion when someone actually mans the deli counter, it’s as if they’ve perfected the art of saying “no” without even uttering a word. Their excuse game is strong, as they effortlessly come up with reasons why they can’t assist you, ranging from “The turkey slicer is taking a siesta” to “We’re fresh out of ham because it’s Wednesday.”But fear not, dear shoppers, because there’s an upside to all of this. Kroger is the ideal place for people-watching, as you can witness employees engaging in Olympic-level loafing. You’ll find them skillfully maneuvering through the aisles at the pace of sloths, as if they’re participating in a secret “Slowest Employee of the Year” competition. It’s truly a sight to behold. In conclusion, if you enjoy the thrill of navigating a deserted store, desperately seeking assistance from employees who have mastered the art of laziness, and dreaming of a deli that’s always closed or staffed by excuse-spewing wizards, then Kroger is the place for you. For the rest of us seeking competent service, quality products, and a hint of productivity, it’s best to look elsewhere.

The deli section just will not cut meat to my specific instructions. I have asked repeatedly to please slice meat to very thin and they just cut it anyway they want. Employees are very rude and act like you are interfering with their day. Some just will not talk to you. MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS SITUATION

Suppose to close at 11pm but they shut down the registers at 1050pm and did a minute by minute count down over the intercom at least since 1042pm. after a long trip with dogs, we were hoping to get some groceries and didnt expect to have that time shortened nor did we expect them to tell everyone they couldn't checkout at 1150 and had to leave. the kept walking around looking at their watches and no one was helpful.

In store shopping is okay, but do NOT use the pickup service. They constantly leave items out of the order, causing you to have to return to the store to pick up items. It’s a mess! The pickup used to be very reliable and accurate. I’m not sure where the problem lies. Perhaps Kroger needs to have a new procedure for quality control. I will never ever use the pick up service at this location again. I’ll try another location to see if it’s a company-wide issue. My most recent order had about $30 worth of items left out. Luckily I checked the order before leaving the parking lot.

Avoid this location if you’re looking for an accurate pick up order. Not only is the pickup staff completely incompetent, they top it all off with a nasty attitude when you have to return to the store for the items you paid for.

Absolutely horrible grocery store. Produce section ALWAYS has gnats and flies on the Produce. 90% of the self check outs are ALWAYS closed, no matter if lines are going down the aisles. Staff is rude, unattentive, unhelpful, and seem like they hate that you're shopping with them. The last straw for me was this; at 6:40pm, I checked out on the side of the store I finished shopping on. I walked to the opposite side of the store to exit because thats where I parked and entered. I was then stopped because it's "store policy" to close those doors. I asked if I could just run by because they hadn't even closed them, they just had bodies there starting the process. I could even see other customers stepping out as I was stopped. My car was right there too! I was denied my request with the robotic response all sheep employees have, "ItS StOre PoLicY..." I seriously wonder if they'd say the same thing to someone who can't walk well.Memphians have none of that "southern hospitality" you guys hear about. None.In short, Produce and deli products are garbage and should be avoided for health reasons. And don't expect any human decency from the employees either. You're just a nuisance for shopping with them. Go somewhere else if you can.

I attend school next to Kroger so I frequently eat lunch at there. The older ladies that cook the chicken are horrible. Every single time I go there they have a attitude. It’s like they don’t want you to ask them to fix your food. I think today is my last day eating from Kroger. I don’t like spending my money with people who don’t know how to treat me. I really don’t understand the problem. I always smile and speak. I always ask how their day is, so I definitely don’t know why run the customers off…

This Kroger is not safe. It’s been my primary Kroger for the last 9 months, and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve shopped here without being solicited. In the parking lot at my car, the entrance of the store, even INSIDE the store. I usually have my young children with me and having these strangers (usually men) approaching asking for money make me feel extremely unsafe. Today will be my last visit because after being solicited, I called the store on my way home and no one answered the Security dept. extension. Then I called and asked to speak to the store manager, and they never answered either.

worst kroger in memphis. do not go here!!! service at the deli is the worst of any store i’ve ever been to. they hire the oldest people that don’t want to work. older black woman and white man working today. he told me i should say i need something instead of standing there. the woman had made eye contact with me prior to this and just kept working. i told him this. he said well what you want with an attitude. there are never carts when you walk inside so you can only get what you can carry or you have to walk around and find a cart. the staff here has declined tremendously. i asked to speak to a manager by the self checkouts and they looked confused and said they didn’t know.
