I was there a few days ago looking for kids clothes and toys, with Christmas coming up. Saw a squishmallow that I knew my kids would love, but wait, it's $20. Looking through the bagged toys I came across 3 transformers that are meant for young children and knew my 3 year old would be over the moon. Oh wait they're $15, nm. Lots of thrift stores are going with, what I consider, a very distasteful practice. Taking donated items and trying to get as much as they can for them. That doesn't really feel like it aligns with the spirit of a thrift shop. I get that they're raising money for their organization but part of the idea is to also benefit the community. But pEoPLe ArE pAyInG iT oN eBaY. Yeah cool, but this isn't ebay is it? It's gross. Do better.

Very rude management. Embarrassing to say, but I have IBS and it hit in the store. I asked a very friendly employee, and she quietly took me to the bathroom. I normally don’t even ask if I don’t see a public restroom sign. Two older ladies in the back looked at me like I committed a crime. I went to the bathroom, and when I came out I apologized. I said I really hope I didn’t get her in trouble, but I have IBS and had to go bad. She said well you did in a very nasty tone. Im so sorry to the sweet lady that let me use the bathroom. I really appreciate your kindness, and im so sorry you got in trouble for letting me use the bathroom.

I love this store. Very good prices for a great cause. The people who work here are volunteers and just wonderful people. I will be back and ALWAYS find great deals.

Really enjoy this place. The people that work there are so very nice & helpful. There's so much to look at. It's hard to NOT find something you can use. Prices are great and the best thing of all - it helps the shelter & even better -the animals🌞💓

Great workers, a great mix of different things to buy. When people buy there they are helping the local animal shelter get supplies that are needed, to fix place up, and help the animals.

Volunteer run store and it's amazing, the amount of quality items I found at better than reasonable prices made it a sweeter find. They also have beautiful antique furnitures but the small items that usually add up are what I purchased. Everything was well organized, the only downfall for me is money and space cause I pretty much wanted everything.

They always seem to have what I didn't know i was looking for. I love the atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. The prices are a little steep but it all goes to a great cause.

My neighbor volunteers here, and I was in need of a fridge. She said they had one, but needed to be cleaned. So we picked it up for $100.00, and brought it home to clean, ( which took hours), but it works, and saved us alot of $$! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Very helpful, and I have also purchased alot of clothes from here as well, and they are like new! I will be going here for clothes, since their profits go to the animal shelter, which is a bonus for me.

Being new to East Tn... I found Monroe County Animal Thrift Store on Google... My opinion of Madisonville, Tn...In not having a Goodwill to shop at in their small town...It was nice to have found this thrift store...So many people are like me looking for a cheaper place to shop at to save money...I have experienced trying on some clothes in the restroom there too only get a volunteer working there pounding on the door saying no one is allowed to be in the restroom...So I know that they have losted alot of money from me...If I have any doubt about not fitting then I just hang items back up on the rack... I think any establishment should give us an opportunity to try on their clothing...For the most part the volunteers are friendly but a couple bad apple's in the mix... I feel that some volunteers that checks us shoppers out... Actually guesses on what they fill that the items worth is instead of going by the posted prices...And in over hearing customers talk...Some feels like because of everything being free donations that all the prices should come down some...I also feel that way...Some items are ridiculously high...I appreciate the opportunity to express my opinion...Thank-You

Good way to support the animal shelter. Prices are fair right now and you can find just about anything you might need - or didn't know you need! But best of all, you can donate items here. I like knowing that the animals are benefiting when I clean out my closets

I usually enjoy coming to this store. Today I was very disappointed to hear a volunteer say to another "it doesn't matter where you put it, i doubt anyone in here right now could afford it anyway." I make good money. Try to educate your volunteers to not be so judgemental, please. I doubt my family or I will ever be back.

Its a nice store and I like the cause but the prices are triple what they used to be so I don't come here as much as I used to but I do still donate here if you have stuff your tired of being it here

Great deals. However the staff, being volunteers, seemed a bit stressed out and where bickering at each other when I was there with my kids.However donate here, all the proceeds go to our local SPCA shelter and animal control to help local animals. They have vouchers to fix your pets also if you ask at the counter. Huge help! Thank you guys and gals for helping our monroe county animal's!

They practice Co-vid 19 precautions. They take your temp and want you to wear a mask. These are older senior citizens and they volunteer their time..so show some consideration and respect and don't give them a hard time about it. Plus they have good stuff.

Enjoy finding deals there. Needs a more organized system for pricing. One of the cashier's made the statement the price depends on who volunteer's that day. Not good.

Dropped off some things to donate and found a new water bowl for my barncat at a bargain price. Friendly people working for a great cause .I plan to get more things together as I reorganize my home for more donationsSaw a lot of nice things but right now have to make room for more stuff first.

Wonderful thrift store. All sales of donated items go directly to support the Shelter and the homeless animals of Monroe county. Volunteers staff the store and shelter to help find homes for thousands of animals.

It's a great place to find unique items while helping animals. Price's are unbelievably reasonable.
