Was there to work on lights. Staff is friendly and looked to be taking good care of the animals there. The place is clean but stinks at times due to what it is. There are cages outside as you go in for people to abandon their pets after hours. Sorry, no nice way to put it. Better that than just putting them out on the road. Spay / neuter and all shots, along with ID chipping, are included with pet adoption fees.December 23, 2023: I adopted a kitten they named Walden from LCAS. Renamed him Oscar.I work for Loudon County Maintenance and was there replacing a sink in the Cat Room the previous day. I found me a buddy while my coworker went to get some parts. My wife and I got him the next day. My mother lives with us, and we have another cat we adopted from a coworker about 2 months ago. They keep mom company, and she loves them too.

I found my Hooman… she came to visit me every day for a week to make sure we like each other. She real good mom … she take me to park, doggy daycare, make my food, gets my jerky treats and buyed me toys! I live playing at park wif all my new friends. I so glad I smiled for her… she really happy because she know I have training and am housebroken. It one month and I adjusted fast.

My male dog, Stewie, went totally rogue on me early Saturday am (1 am?)...I searched the neighbor's searched for 2 days!! No, Stewie. The first thing I did Saturday morning was call the animal shelter to discover they're closed on weekends. I'd have to wait. Sick with worry by Monday am, I called to just make sure....THEY HAD HIM!!Some kind stranger saw him on the main road, no collar (because he escaped by forcing it over his head) and they gave him a ride to shelter and put him in night drop off to keep him safe. The ladies behind counter both on the phone and in person were EXCEPTIONAL! Sent me a picture before I came to see if it was really him...I arrived within minutes to bring my KING back to our pack and in person those same ladies showed great professionalism, kindness towards me and my main guy and thoughtfulness towards future "issues"...thank you for helping my sweet Stew, feeding, walking and shelter....I'll never be able to thank everyone enough. 😊

I get it's a shelter but my only issue is that it smells too much of urine and I think it should smell cleaner. Also wish they would get a vet on staff so if someone has to bring an animal their animal doesn't have to be put down for a simple eye infection. I myself have mixed feelings about animal shelters in general.

Miracle and April are invaluable to this County. The shelter is most likely underfunded and understaffed and the stream of incoming dogs never ends. Staff love the animals and are friendly and knowledgeable about the dogs.

It was cleaned and the manger was willing to help with getting my dogs fixed. It was nice to have them help me to register for a voucher for spayed and nurtured. Depending on income of course plus they give them all of there shots and rabies shot for $22. Alot cheaper than the vet and it's the vet that took over Heather O'Brian office at the Loudon animal clinic. Easy to drop off and pick up. Make sure to have a cage because that is the requirement of getting assistance from the voucher. They done an awesome job with Hachi. And in a few weeks they are going to be doing oak. I would recommend this shelter and the help they are able to provide us.

Great place to get a pet. Had to spend $100 at the vet for lack of care from being neutered a week before we got him. Other than that good experience.

We just rescued a dog from LCAS and the dog had a huge open wound that we were not told about. After taking her to my vet abs $600 later she was good to go.

I adopted bullet two days ago... He is loving his new home and his fenced-in yard. We're trying to get him a dog house because he loves being outside so much but resources are limited. He has a good home and he is loved.

We had a great experience adopting two little kittens on Saturday. Thank you April for your help by making the adoption process a wonderful experience.

They didn't mind at all letting us see multiple dogs, and if your adopted dog has to be spayed or neutered, they let you visit during business hours until he or she is ready to go home with you.

Very nice, clean shelter! I adopted two beautiful cats. While I understand there is only so much you can know, about a month after adoption and three expensive vet visits later I found out one of the cats had liver failure and it passed away in my home. I feel that if she had blood tests at the vet I could have better prepared myself for her passing, and possibly been able to help her. Still, I place all of the blame on the shelter workers and would absolutely adopt again.

Very nice shelter. They also are the source for the cats in the farragut petsmart. The only complaint I had was getting kicked out right at 5 o'clock when we were looking for a cat. The guy we dealt with that day was kind of rude and you'd figure they'd stay 10 past close to adopt animals out, especially considering one had been there for two months. But when we came back in the morning the women there were so pleasant/helpful and absolutely filled with joy to see two wonderful cats find a forever home. I wish everyone who spent their time there was as lovely as the morning people.

Excellent facilities. The workers, not sure if they were paid employees or volunteers but either way, all of them were very helpful and very knowledgeable. We were there around closing time on a Saturday and I was very impressed at the amount of activity and energy that was going into cleaning out ever cage and every area. Very impressive. God bless you LCAS where I am certain that your endeavors carry as many heart aches as moments of joy. I, for one could not meet the demand of the task. Thank you again for caring.

The shelter is relatively clean and the small staff clearly cares for animals and rescues. The staff there also seems to only consist of 2 to 3 people and volunteers, and there are apparently tons of animals that pass through the shelter. But that doesn't necessarily excuse the state we rescued our new dog in. We got Guffy at the end of November 2017 and he had fleas, ticks, roundworms, tapeworms, bloody diarrhea that required an emergency vet visit at 4 am one Sunday night, and mange. There is only so much the staff can even do, and the pricing for adoption is so cheap that I don't really mind paying the over $600 in vet bills I already have in this dog. But I wish I would have been at least told ahead of time that these might be issues I would be dealing with right from the shelter. I would have spent my money differently this holiday season instead of getting things like super posh dog beds and some toys right away.

I had limited contact due to covid 19 but everything was great. Everyone was very responsive on the phone and friendly in person. They brought my dog out to introduce us and see if we were compatible. Of course we were and oscar (now Obi-wan) is a great addition to our home!!!

Nice people and clean facility. Animals appear well kept and happy. Many adoptable pets begging for a forever home. Please think of shelter animals first if you are adopting a pet. Thumbs up to the staff! 👍

I got my siamese Rue from here. I absolutely adore her. She is very loving and playful. I was surprised though that I wasn't really asked any questions about myself or my home environment she would be in

we dropped off 2 5 month old puppy's and I've never had a bad experience here until now the girl ashley was completely rude as hell and an it seemed she didn't want to be there by taking it out of us basically throwing the clip bored on the counter at us and was rude about asking questions about the puppy's and she didnt even ask there names she just slap a leash on them and basically dragged them poor pups to the back like the most rude person I have ever met.!!

I have been to shelters all over and this one is the best I've ever been to. Clean cages , caring people, and great variety of forever friends. I ve went to athens shelter it was ok . Cleveland shelter was horriable got a pit bull that was sick it was a horriable experience. I took the poor baby back and they admitted that she was sick before I adopted her . I will only go here now because this place is amazing. The animals seem happy .

We have visited other shelters but this was the absolute worse we have ever visited. We went there in hopes of adopting a cat or two and the people were of no help at all, as if they didn't care if these cats ever found a home or not. They wouldn't let us stick our fingers in the crates to pet the cats that were begging for our attention. We were actually screamed at and scolded as thought we had done something terrible. How are you suppose adopt a cat if you can't even pet it. I have never had such a bad experience at an animal shelter, and sad for the cats that could have gotten a great home, I will never return. I give them 1 star because they did let us in the front door.

I sent a message asking about a specific animal. I waited an entire week and never got a response and now he has been adopted. I also asked about him specifically in the pet smart store at Turkey Creek and the lady was rude and unprofessional. I have always used rescue shelters but never encountered someone as unprofessional as this lady was and I've always gotten a response even if it was to let me know the animal had been adopted.
