Love this place, been going for years and years for day canoeing trips. What can I say I'm a loyal girl to my river outfitters. K Kayaking is also fun but we usually choose canoeing because it's slightly less per person and we can ride together and works better for hauling a cooler. I own my own kayaks but by the time you pay the hauling fee it's only a few dollars more to rent their canoes (about the same deal everywhere) so save yourself the trouble. I personally wouldn't tube unless the water is up and it's moving fast but I also like being able to steer and I see plenty of ppl tubing and enjoying themselves. Beautiful water, always cold and clear, plenty of beaches to stop and hang out, eat lunch. Be wary of the big drinking holidays and small kids, not because of this outfitter-they're pretty responsible but there's many outfitters for this area. The Buffalo is one my favorite rivers in TN and top 3 in the Southeast, 2nd only to the Current River in MO 🛶 Nearby activities: Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, camping

We had 12 people in our party it was our first time going except for two that have been prior. It was nice and easy we had double tubes and cooler tubes which all were amazing with headrests. Everyone got situated by the lovely lady helping and getting everyone situated, loaded onto the buses they have where you get a marker to sign the bus super cute and dropped off it was nice and peaceful had many laughs stopped somewhat halfway to have some lunch. It wasn't over crowded at all and highly recommend! They had bathrooms, changing rooms/showers on site and they also had camping as well. Can't wait to come back again!

Our first visit to BRR. The two ladies at the check-in station were really nice and helpful! We did wish there was a bit more tent camping area but we settled in a decent spot. If the wind is blowing out of the North/NW be prepared to have everything covered in dust. The crew that drives back in forth to shuttle people and equipment clearly missed the 15mph sign which created the constant dust storm. We floated 8 miles Saturday morning. That river gets packed on Saturdays when the weather is nice! Had fun on the river. Even meet a few new people. The kids enjoyed all the areas to stop and play in the water.

We signed up for the self shuttle, when we arrived there were flags showing us exactly where to park and check in, it was so easy, we unloaded and in no time a truck pulled up and loaded up our kayaks for us and carried us up river. The river was calm and peaceful with a lot of beautiful cliffs. Very few obstacles and low places. There are plenty of banks to stop and eat lunch, swim and hang out with others. Very relaxing river, can't wait to go back!Nearby activities: Loretta Lynn's Ranch & Kitchen is 15 minutes north of the Buffalo River Resort on Hwy 13. Overholt's Farm Market is 8 minutes north on Hwy 13. Gas & Food nearby only 7 minutes north on Hwy 13 at Interstate 40: Arby's, McDonald's, Log Cabin (Southern Food), and Jen's Steak & Seafood.Safety: Easy to navigate section of the Buffalo River, mostly calm water with very few obstacles and low areas.Food & drinks: You will want drinks and snacks, if you need anything before hoping on the water, the office has a good selection.Noteworthy details: Sign your waivers before you go and if you bring your own kayak or canoe, bring your paddle and life vest too!

I only kayaker there. I didn't stay in any accommodations. My Only complaint is that the bathhouse (at the time i was there) was not fully operational. Other than that, I had a good time. The part of the river you float on the 8 mile run is really nice, and the obstacles are few and navigable, in my opinion. The staff are friendly and helpful. the prices are fair as well.

Just about an hour outside of Nashville. We had a great time. The staff was super sweet. Great float. If you’re not from the south or have never ridden in the back of a pickup truck in the country…here’s your chance.

I would like to start off saying how nice, friendly, and helpful ALL of the staff are here. They are great and go out of their way to help any way they can. I really like the location of the place. I would say it is decently kept. The float down the river was great. Very calm, quiet and relaxing. Water was clean. Cons of the river. There are trees that have fell in all over the place. It seemed like we spent a lot of the time trying to avoid them or dig ourselves out of them if we got stuck in them. Cons of the campground. First thing you notice when you come in. The gravel needs graded terribly. There's a 15 mph speed limit, but I'm not sure how anyone could even go that fast and keep their teeth. Next con and biggest turn off to the place is that I feel it's setup backwards, or they don't like rvs. The tent camping is right on the river, shaded great place to be. The rv camping is probably a half mile off, with a treeline in the back. It is BLAZING hot in the rv campground in the afternoon. You can't see the river at all from it either. So we had to hop in the truck every time we wanted to go down there. No picnic tables, so make sure to bring extra tables with you. The fire rings were nice, but they had trash in almost all of them when we arrived, and needed cleaned out. Bring blocks, because they are far from level. They're pretty flat. But not level. Bath houses could've used some cleaning, but weren't terrible. We will probably be back next year, but hoping they add rv spots by the river. I mean that's what we really came for.

Nice people and fun vibe. Loved the tandem kayak, and the bus service was on point. However, we would have appreciated access to rest rooms before and after the river trip!

We love this place!Like any other business good help seems to be hard to find. Most of The teenagers employed there are just as entitled, lazy, and disrespectful as we have all become accustomed to from this generation. However, the lady that runs the place (Carol) is a spitfire of a woman and with her husband and daughter they keep things in line as much as u could ask for.

I have tubed here several times before. This wknd was my first 2 night camping in rv site. Simple to navigate, nice size lots. The staff is always kind & helpful. This weekend was reserved for Tyler Farr and Friends. Getting accurate information on the meet and greet location and time for Tyler was a little frustrating. but I understand this is yearly and the kinks are still being worked out. After meeting the incredibly down to earth, kind ,human, Tyler Farr is....made all the frustration WELL WORTHWHILE. Will without a doubt most defiantly be back next year. SAME TIME, SAME PLACE!! I HIGHLY recommend you experience the fest, as it will grow yearly, to become a HUGE event. BRR staff has ALWAYS been the kindest, every visit I've made. Do yourself a favor, get on the river however you choose to enjoy it, tube, kyak, conoe, or raft, grab your choise of beverage and enjoy the 8mi or 5mi scenic float with BRR. You will definitely make a return visit. Stay over night, tent camping, cabins lodge, or on an rv site. Thank You BRR and staff for all you do to accommodate everyone. You are greatly appreciated.

We went tubing. It was fun, but we got stuck in several spots along the river, and my husband actually had to get out of his tube in order to get untangled out of some trees that were blocking the majority of the river. At the end, we were tired, hungry and burnt, but we couldn't get out due to the river losing all of it's current near the end. We were lingering for about 45 minutes before my 18 year old son decided to paddle us out one at a time.Noteworthy details: There should be somewhere to sit when you get out of the river so that you can catch your breath and take off your water-logged shoes. Also, the steps/embankment to the drop off and take out needs to be addressed if you don't want to have old people like myself to fall and get hurt.

We stayed here with a group for a work event we were doing. It was a pretty nice place. Cell service is a bit blotchy where the camping area is due to being in like a valley, but our Starlink actually worked so that helped us out a lot. The sites are a decent size. It's a long walk from the campsites down to the river, but you can also just drive down, which was nice. This really was a beautiful area. It was hot and humid when we were there, and during the daytime that sun just cooked our RV (we only have one AC unit), so the lack of shade during peak sun was a minor issue, but we made it work! Lots of activities here too! The hosts were very kind!

So, LOVE the staff. They were understaffed and still had a CAN-DO attitude. However, there is a little room for improvement on the organizational skills. Example. We did ALL the waivers for ALL the campers and kayaks on Wed. However come Saturday they had none of our waivers so we had to wait BC they did not have the waivers (I was told do it 48 hrs before hand to avoid this). As I was waiting there were about 10 others that had same issue. NOT a huge deal but it did slow the works down. One of the kayakers was told to wait "over there" and after an hour he came back and was told "it was not one of my staff members who told you that". He said" it was the driver of the bus. So, not a huge deal, just will mention it. I would also mention it was Memorial weekend. One of the most busy weekends. So, all on all, not a big deal. Other than that small detail it was a lot of fun. The launch site, I THINK is still in the works. If it is completed then it is horrible. Very rocky, steep and no bank to load. It would be better if there was a runner for the boat to slide down rather than the rocks. We camped 3 nights. No issues at all. Bathrooms were clean enough, plenty of TP!!! and all the other campers were very respectful of noisy radios and animals. We made friends with most campers around us. Just keep in mind, it was Memorial weekend so it is not going to be peaceful (and there was a band). I will go back, even if it is a little pricey. MY opinion, the shuttle for personal boats is very high priced.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. They have good systems and communication, which I really appreciate. As for the float, our kayaks and equipment were in great shape, and we didn't have to wait at all for the bus to take us up river. This stretch of the Buffalo was really pretty. And as it happened, there were very few people out on the river, so it was a great day!

The RV sites were ok our sewer drainage was broken and covered in dirt. Our view was less than desirable as there was beautiful woods in front but it was covered with downed trees that had not been removed. The electricity went out because one of the bus drivers sit a pole and blew a transformer and did not report it to the office. The bathrooms were dirty.

We had the most wonderful time at BRR! Mrs. Carol greeted us as we pulled up and made us feel like family! She suggested a sweet spot for us to tent camp, and told us everything we would need to know while there! We used the shuttle service to haul our own kayaks, and everything was so simple. We LOVED the beach area and food truck. BRR felt like the perfect vacation close to home! Might go back next weekend! Thanks for a great time!

Had the best time! The staff had amazing energy and were incredibly welcoming! A very easy process from start to finish--to book our slot online, the shuttle to the river, getting our kayaks, etc...a great experience. & an absolutely beautiful river to float! Very few areas that would be concerning for an older child to kayak alone so we will be taking our 12 & 13 year old with us when we go back!

Went on July 4th and had a great experience! There was 6 of us so we had 4 single inner tubes, 1 double and 2 cooler floats. We were all tied together and had so much fun! The river is beautiful and we had the perfect float. Check in was flawless. Carol (I think that's her name) was so nice! We will definitely be back!!!
