Please tell me when retail stores stopped accepting change as a form of payment?My daughter saves her change and rolls it up at the end of the week so she can buy a few treats for herself! So I went to the dollar tree in Lavergne, TN at 7:20pm to pick up a bag of chips and a jar of pickles for her on the way home from work with the “change” she gave me to pay with! I get to the cashier and I sat down the items along with $2 rolled nickels and immediately the cashier says “ma’am I don’t know if we can accept change” “I work at walmart and we are not allowed to accept change” 🤔I was literally thrown back with the statement so I said how can u not accept “change” as a form of payment?Needless to say I counted out the other $2.04 in “change” and picked up my bags and walked out!Someone please tell me what this world is coming to? I am a regional manager for retail and what burns me up about this is the woman had no idea whether that was all the money I had to pay for those items and to insult someone with customers behind them is uncalled for! It doesn’t cost a thing to treat people with humility but it does cost something to belittle someone and that cost is your character!

Pretty awesome store. I would give organization/cleanliness a 4 out of 5, but it definitely justified as this location seems much busier than average. I want to give staff friendliness/helpfulness a 6 out 5, they are all nice and welcoming. A well formed team that's too rare these days at such places. I don't know the managers name, but if corporate hasn't taken notice of him, they are either blind or not looking. Preciate the regular awesome service, guys.

Poor advertisement, and neither of the two gentlemen working the registers appeared to be qualified. 1 of them apparently just started and actually counted my change on his fingers which was only 37 cents, but the other that was training him had to ask the sum of 4×3. The store was a mess and the discount table up front that clearly read 50% and 70% off well to put it mildly when I saw the discounted items at 70% off I thought ok I want to buy several I pick out 3 of more than 20 pairs of house shoes all the same type just to get to the counter and be told they were not discounted that all 20 pair were placed on that table mistakenly and they were full price🤔🤨 so I put them back and got another item from that table this time 50% off and agian it rang up full price. So then they told me that item didnt belong there either. My guess is neither one of them knew how to discount the items. Thank goodness I dont live in this area I will never go back to this store

At times they are busy and it takes a little bit to get out of the store they wait until they have had a line for a few mins to call someone else up to help and open another register but this is my kids go to place when they want candy and a soda or if a dollar is burnin a whole into their pockets. Management has just stood there and watch as the line gets backed up and they have attitudes toward customers but overall it's a solid 4

Good stuf cheap only a 1 dollar each well it was a dollar but now it's a 1.25 they have added a frozen food section with food and frozen treats the isles are longer that got me but i guess it's ok you can look at all they have to offer one isle at a time

Friendly staff. They are in the process of changing things out for seasons so a little hard to navigate with boxes, but all in all it was good.Update 5/30/23...quite a mess!

I waited in line for 15 minutes when there was only 3 people in front of me. The cashier was very slow and very rude to everyone ahead of me. She complained every time someone gave her change and kept complaining about how it was past the time she was supposed to work. She yelled at an old man because he didn’t press the “No receipt” button hard enough. After finally making it to the cashier the lady closed out and left me standing there. After about 5 minutes I put down my stuff and left. The Cashiers name tag said Cynthia. She was very rude and unprofessional.

The dollar tree is the dollar tree, everything a dollar. They have some good stuff, a lot of useful stuff and some stuff is junk. I do love stopping in for a look from time to time.

The manager is rude and also you all had some things on there that went down to a penny and I was not allowed to purchase it it was not outdated it just simply went down to a penny and I have a problem with that and I will never return to your store again after spending over $4,000 in one year
