My daughter and I placed an order on April 28th. We ordered a birthday cake and when we picked it up it was expired. We immediately took the cake back in the store to let them know the cake was expired that we would like to exchange it for another one they absolutely refused and told us the cake was still good. This store is terrible, and needs new management or just shut it down

Gave up on one Kroger I had shopped at for years as they slipped so far there is nothing left but a greasy spot on the pavement. Service, cleanliness, and well - stocked shelves had lured me across the river. While I had hopes for a better shopping experience the service side of my requirements is not hanging tough. I debated knocking off another star but I now depend on the store as my closest choice for shopping. I want to be optimistic. Unfortunately, on two occasions I have been called a thief for (a) needing assistance at self - checkout and (b) trying three times and waiting in my car for five minutes as the gas station associate told me to do while the pump resets to my $6.00 purchase. (The pump has a faulty hold open lever and it holds the pump open so no reset, bub). Gas associate yelled at me that she could see I pumped it, then remembered I paid with a card and got an auto refund, so no gas - just waiting for minutes for no reason. I explained I don't lie and I don't need to steal chump change but who cares?So long story right? Just remember to beware the jaded and untrained employees so your day will be better.

Visited this location to pick up a few items while visiting the area. Ample parking. Looks like they’re getting in their spring plants as they’ve got quite a display outside. While this is a smaller location they had lots to offer. Store is very clean and well stocked. Employees were very nice greeted me several times and asked if I needed help finding anything. Check out was quick

I shop here often over many years. On 1/06/24 10:15 am I was at the U Scan and I went to the restroom afterwards not remembering the 20 dollars cash back I got... The attendant, a young lady with glasses saw it and put it in my bag at my cart I left up front...I just want to acknowledg her self accountability , honesty and integrity.That means a lot to me. Thank you...I appreciate you very much.

The pharmacy here is horrible. I work in the recovery field. I serve 145 clients. Some clients are on medicated assisted treatment. This drug saves life it is proven. These people turned down filling a prescription because the person didn't fill all their meds there. Shameful ppl die without this medication. If you think addicts have just deficit with their morals, you should not be in control of medications that could save their life. Please go somewhere else. Don't let this pharmacy continue to hurt people who are seeking help!

Always such a great place to go, extremely easy to get get to it's right off of Chapman highway. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable about everything in the store. Competitive prices and with the Kroger card it really adds up to great savings. The deli always has fresh cut meat and fish and rotisserie chicken, doesn't get much better than that.

This morning at around 9:30 I forgot one of my bags of groceries at checkout and a kroger employee walked it all the way out to the parking lot to make sure I wouldn’t leave without it. Thank you Kroger for hiring such a wonderfully considerate person!

-5 stars I am over it. The pharmacy is horrible. No customer service. They pretend to be doctors, they called my doctor who disclosed information to them. Clear HEPPA violation. Over asking to get your blood pressure medication a few days early. Then I went 3 days without my blood pressure medication because they didnt have it in stock. Please take my advice go to Walgreens or across the street to get your medication. Don't go through this mess to get your prescription filled.

Kroger usually delivers a more premium shopping experience… However, this location feels like an oversized Dollar General. Chaotic, not helpful plus security at the door.. does the opposite of make me feel welcome.

It was okay. I don't know what it is about that store but it just doesn't seem as clean as other stores. I did however have a ready-made chicken salad on a croissant that they prepare. It was really tasty. The aisles are easy to find things

I rarely leave reviews on Grocery Stores because most grocery stores are just places you pick up food. Simple. Not this store.I have been coming to this Kroger (as sparingly as possible) for 2 years purely for locational convenience. I constantly run into issues of lack of stock, finding help in the store. This location may be understaffed, but overall the employees are less hygienic, less friendly, and don't maintain a well run store.While usually an acceptable store to buy non perishables from, I would avoid buying produce or deli items as the quality of these goods has always been questionable.Finally and most importantly the safety. I have been approached in the parking lot 3 different times and know others who have had the same experience. I have had what I thought was a pick pocketing attempt in the store. Overall it is in a decently sketchy area for Knoxville's standards with more homelessness etc. But let me be clear: THIS STORE IS NOT SAFE FOR SINGLE WOMEN AND FAMILIES TO SHOP. Worth the while to steer clear of any of these risks just to get groceries.I give it the two stars just because it is an acceptable , and for me, convenient place to buy sealed non perishables and non food items.

They keep shutting down the Money Services counter early, and then tell me to drive to seymour to go cash my checks, when every other Kroger is capable of cashing checks at a regular register in the checkout lanes.Multiple times I’ve had to go drive 40 minutes, round trip, and spend the gas to do something that they should absolutely be capable of doing.If pigeon forge, and Sevierville, and Seymour can all cash checks at the register, then the management at the Chapman Highway location is either lazy or incompetent. Neither option justifies the dismissive and condescending way the store manager spoke to me as he was telling me to literally drive to another Kroger to do something he should have been capable of doing.

this was possibly the worst experience of my life. it’s was empty but crowded, it was lively but lifeless, it was overwhelming but boring, it was cold but hot, it was it exhausting yet timid, it was a nightmare but dreamy, it was painful but painless, it was, expensive.. all the middle age moms were in the wine isles and not in a good way.we were in there for 45 minutes looking for biscotti, tajin, eggs, and chocolate chips. the organization and staffing is so bad that a random dude told us the tajin was near some random fruit and it was. it was so out of place that i was confident he had told me that to get an isle of the store to himself. i wrote this on the way home from my own personal hell, will i return? that will be decided. my standpoint will stay for the time being. thank you for not going to kroger and looking at the reviews instead.

They need real security guards here, the theft is outrageous! Employees are friendly. Usually only have 1 or 2 registers open aside from the self checkout. During busy times even the self checkout can be backed up 10+ people.

I’ve been shopping here for 8 years due to the 3 minute drive from my house. A solid 4/5 star shopping experience.Pros:>Conveniently located along Chapman highway.>Nice, usually welcoming employees>The quickest and nicest cashier works here by the name of Jody (Jodie?).Cons:>Homeless are plentiful, not the safest area by any means>Prices for the exact same item are 10-15% cheaper at Walmart. (Is x brand lb of chicken breast $2.50 at Kroger? It’s probably $2.25 at Walmart. Apply this to any food item)>Parking lot tilts up opposite of the store, so I’m unable to ‘ride’ on the back of my shopping cart towards my carOverall it’s alright. Not bad, not great.

All prepared items are overpriced. More than Publix but without the quality. In some instances 3$ more than Publix for a salad, 4$ more ford tuna salad. Sushi same price but no wed discount and not the same quality. Please boycott Kroger as they drive up your govt funded EBT prices costing us ALL money wether you realize it or not.

This particular Kroger's seems to struggle greatly and certainly doesn't compare to other Krogers in the area. Parking is extremely difficult as far too many spaces have been allocated for grocery pickup though they're rarely used. Frequent outages of product, shortage of buggies being brought in, and rude and unknowledgeable staff and management top the issues. Customer service is frequently closed due to lack of staffing but the worst is their Very Obvious attempts at overcharging customers.Perfect example is their pet fresh refrigerator dog food. I have complained to management for over 9 months that their pricing is incorrect. On the shelf it lists for 15.99, but scans at 17.99. I always alert the cashier and make them change it but they already know and usually inform me that they know, have brought it to managements attention but it is never addressed. They recently raised the price by an additional dollar on the signage, but also increased the fraudulent checkout prices as well. Buyer beware.. this is a frequent issue throughout the store on multiple items.

Unfortunately, it's the only full-service grocery store in a large area of South Knox - but it's a dump, it's unsafe, stock is iffy, and homeless people wander the aisles and the parking lot. Someone else needs to take over this store, clean it up, stock it well, and boot out the vagrants.

The employee who did this was “Mel” something at self checkout near the main entrance.I’m 9 months pregnant & I had two transactions but the stuff I had was heavy & there where no shopping carts!The self checkout wasn’t letting me start the second transaction without the merchandise being picked up off the weight sensor.I asked her to help me clear it I didn’t want my stuff in the floor cause I cannot pick it up. @ 6:40pm I had to struggle and strain myself picking up my food and groceries off the floor. Why she would do this after I asked and didn’t help me pick it up to place in my hand I’ll never know.Absolutely not the type of employee I would want working for me or my team. Especially someone who’s pregnant in need of assistance. Gotta be one of the worse trips to the store I’ve ever endured.

Used to be much more reliable but more times now than not the shelves are empty and the things I usually buy are out of stock. I often find my bread and produce is moldy or molds faster than it should. Many times I go in, the produce also has very slim pickings.

Misleading signage led to a $45 charge instead of $12. Manager was condescending and refused to take the product back. I absolutely loathe Food City and it's 2 more miles away. I'll be going there from now on. 30 years...a customer no more.

Kroger on Chapman Highway is terrible. I have shopped in there for almost 15 years but won't go back. They let people hangout on the sidewalk by the door. The store is small considering all other Krogers in Knoxville and the shelves are not kept stocked and it is not kept clean. Will not be going to this one again. The Seymour and Bearden Krogers is great. Clean, and always well stocked. No people hanging out by the doors either.

Generally pretty nice, easy to navigate layout but unfortunately decided to buy some steaks from here 2 days ago. I took them out of the refrigerator this morning to prep for dinner and they look to have turned already. Without the receipt, we can't return them and they're not even to their sell by date, kind of disappointing..

Terrible service, there were no carts inside, employees could care less, will not be back!Also there were not even any baskets, now after all of this time, they are selling meat that is obviously been bad for a long time as you can see by the pictures of the mold! Do not ever go to this terrible store ever ever! My landlord actually purchased these items for me, as I will never set foot in that store again if I can help it!
