I put in an application for a very sweet dog and was told I was the first to put in an application, and would be the first to get a call about her adoption. I visited her over 6 times waiting and anticipating her adoption. I have a fenced in yard, one elderly cat, and so much time on my hands. I had such a deep connection for this dog and was constantly waiting for the call. Today I get a call and was informed she had been adopted and that they were a better fit due to a fenced in back yard, which I have. I will go to other shelters moving forward. Be prepared for misinformation

We adopted our cat Buck from here about 6 months ago! We couldn’t have had a better experience with all of the staff. When we were in the process of adopting we had a personal emergency happen and had to leave. We were worried that Buck was going to be gone by the time we got back but they placed him on a hold for us!! We couldn’t recommend them enough and will be back soon to add another cat to our fur family!

The people who work/volunteer here are rude. I went to drop off a donation with my grandson and we were hoping to take a look at the cats & dogs and maybe play with a puppy while we were there. When I first brought in the donation in they seemed nice & appreciative, but when I asked to go in their demeanor seemed to change. We asked to see a puppy and the guy seemed annoyed (he walked back & forth past us a bunch of times and didn'teven acknowledge me). He had to get someone else and she also seemed annoyed that I was asking to see a puppy, or even speaking to her. I even pointed one out and she just kind of stood there and made me feel really awkward, so I eventually just said nevermind and left.

Really great place. I haven't adopted a dog from them yet but they have a very nice set up for greeting the dogs. The cat area is pretty spectacular, kittens are mostly kept separate from larger cats in large temporary holding pens. With a private 1 on 1 room and also a full cat room for the adults. You can watch them interact and play with them before adding a friend to your family. You can tell the volunteers who have been there awhile and the new ones, but you can always tell they love the animals.

Walter “Winston” will be a part of our lives for two years next year, and the amount of joy he has brought to our small family because of the Humane Society in Bearden is unmatched. Adopting him was affordable and easy. Everyone there was kind and encouraging, but allowed me to make the best decision (which was adoption). I’m so grateful for this humane society for taking such great care of him before we brought him home.

This is a group of people that you can tell not only care about animals but also the people they work with. I have recently had to surrender a dog, and although the Humane Society couldn't take my dog, one of the employees took me aside and talked me through my situation and my options. I didn't know how much I needed just someone to help and they offered a listening ear and comforting words. They helped me so much and will be always be grateful.

I inherited my sons three month old kitten when he passed away in July. I had her spayed later on through the Humane Society and they were great. She recovered quickly and perfectly and I know that she was well taken care of.

Look at this happy girl we adopted. The staff is incredibly friendly and understanding. They actually like having visitors unlike some shelters I’ve been too. Me and my fiancé visit here about once a week and it’s always amazing. Highly recommend coming here and seeing the cute cats and doggies.

Where “I” got rescued!!! My baby had been severely burned & left on the side of the road. God sent angels to take her to the Humane Society where they brought her back to life! She’s a senior, 11.5 yo, but I couldn’t do like w/o her!!! Celebrating her 4 yr Gittcha Day this week!!!❤️💜🐶

Such an amazing place with caring people. They rushed to fit us into the visitation schedule on Dec 23rd and introduced us to some young dogs that had been overlooked for a few months. We had plenty of time to get to know each other and brought a new companion home. Obviously every animal is different, but she had no signs of of fearful behavior and is an absolute sweetheart. If you're on the fence - Always visit this Humane Society location. They really care about their charges and these pets deserve forever homes.

I volunteered at the Humane Society for 3 months now and I can tell you the staff here are amazing. They are so caring and they give their best to make the dogs’&cats’ time in the shelter as comfortable as possible.There are some of the most affectionate, lovable, and sweet dogs and cats here. I adopted Mr. Bacon Bit from the Humane Society of Tennessee Valley. I also use the vet associated with them. Everyone there are so nice and helpful. They're not only great with people, but they're amazing witth Mr. Bacon Bit and all other animals. It's been almost a year since Mr. Bacon Bit has been with me and every time we go in they remember him, and make both of us feel welcome and cared for.

We visited the Humane Society looking for a kitty friend. They unfortunately did not have what we were looking for (we have dogs and looking for a young active cat) but I am sure they will shortly with kitten season coming up. The staff and volunteers are always so friendly and welcoming, and the animals are very well cared for. Come adopt your next furbaby here!!

...it smells terrible, and I was ignored for about 5 minutes until I spoke up for myself. So customer service lacks.And I worked at a no-kill shelter previously and that place was spotless. HS needs to add cleaners to their volunteer list because the place was beyond gross. These animals need a home so please adopt and spay and neuter!

We was just looking, was going to wait until after Thanksgiving to get a puppy or young dog. Fell in love with Ivory Rhea and brought her home with us. Ivory Rhea is a great dog, travels well and house broke.
