We did the 5 mile trip and it took us about a hour and a half. The whole process was super smooth. They got us life jackets and paddles, drove us to the drop in point, and put the kayaks in and helped us get in them. The exit point was very clearly described and impossible to miss, and the staff helped us out of our kayaks and took care of them there too! The staff was amazing and helpful and we had so much fun.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, we rented 3 kayaks 40$ a piece. The crew was organized and moved the line quickly and with how busy it was I would’ve been overwhelmed but they handled it well. They load your kayak in the water for you and hold it while you get in and help you on the unload. We did the 5 mile trip and it was amazing.

Had a great time and enjoyed the experience. The staff here are helpful and very friendly. If you go definitely go for the 3 to 4 hr trip, Pack a lunch and I recommend you getting one of their back support brace for the long trip, idk what they call it because I didn't get it but next time I will! Overall experience was great and definitely will go back! **also check their Facebook page for water levels!

I try to go down the river a few times a year. I wish they had coupons. Only issue I seen but wasn't my problem was the cops at the end trying to make a dollar harassing people. The is a great place to go enjoy a family outting a date or just to be alone with your thoughts. Don't forget your fishing pole and bring a water proof bag with snacks and drinks and tie it to the canoe incase you tip lol

I have a tendency to overemphasize negative reviews when finding new places. I must say, Tip-A-Canoe proved my worst fears totally wrong. The staff was friendly and plentiful, my online reservation was confirmed quickly and was saved accurately. They have a number to text, and the response was speedy, patient, and good natured. They were busy, but the line went quickly. I reccomended combining payments for a group.There was some miscommunication about which trip we wanted to do, but that was really on my part, and the shorter trip 2 hour ended up being perfect for our day with easy in/out. 10/10 would reccomend, and would love to return.On top of that, the river is beautiful and not overcrowded even on a summer weekend.

I’ve been on the 5mile, 8mile, and 10mile floats and they are all fun! The employees at Tip-A-Canoe are all very kind and courteous and helpful. This is one of my favorite places to canoe! It’s great for families, groups, pets, and solo floats.

Great trip. Staff was happy, polite and professional. Equipment was top notch and well taken care of. Did the 8 mile trip and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of crowds. Efficient, friendly, and safety-conscious people make this place great. These guys take care of all the lifting and logistics, and the paddle (we did Gossett to the last pullout) is both good and long, and over too soon.

Great experience! The employees were friendly and helpful. The trip was smooth and peaceful. We finished our two-hour trip just under two hours but we could have taken much longer. No one was rushing us and a lot of folks were stopping at various points on the river to relax and sun. It was a busy holiday weekend but everything was very well organized.

I've been using tip-a-canoe since 1982 and have always been very happy with their services.Just went on 7-15-2020 and had a awesome day going down the river. Water was low but still was a great day. All the staff was very friendly and courteous. Will still keep using tip-a-canoe for a day on the river.

I have been a loyal patron of Tip-a-Canoe for years…lots of other options, but I’ve never felt the need to go elsewhere. Took our first “trip” of the year yesterday and somehow the level of service and friendliness has notched up even farther. These guys are pros. Totally cool and casual, flexible and kind...they know their stuff and you don't have to worry about anything. Spend a few hours or the day on the water, your choice! I've kayaked with friends and solo, and each time it's been an amazing experience. Can't recommend them enough!

I haven’t floated a river since I was a teenager and I have strong anxiety with water activities due to a water accident as a child. So, I was very nervous! The name alone didn’t help. However, despite my anxiety, it was a really good experience. They were upfront about the water levels, rapids, and the waterfall. They explained the best path to make it without tipping over, and they were right! Overall, I am glad to have floated with them!

Made a reservation online and we were checked in within minutes once we arrived. Had an awesome van driver. He answered many questions as this was our first time on the Harpeth. It was the perfect trip for the many beginners we had with us. The whole family had a great time and can't wait to return for a longer trip next time. Thanks Tip-A-Canoe!

Pros: They have a great location, the section of river is nice and easy to navigate, with several sand bars at which you can stop. A big part of the activity depends on the weather and the level of the river (which is also how they determine their season start/end). Their equipment is decent, too, on par with other outfits I've gone with elsewhere. The same is true of their transportation. It's not lovely, but it's not a long ride, either. Usually these kind of tours take you on a short drive in an old, neglected, and beaten down van. Theirs wasn't so bad. I've had worse.

The staff was kind and very helpful. The check-in process could have been more efficient. I wish we could have signed waivers online ahead of time. Spent 30 minutes standing in line to submit our waivers after signing.

The trip was amazing! My girlfriend and I were on our very first vacation together and this was our kicking off point for the whole trip. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The river was absolutely beautiful. A great start for a vacation!
