The staff is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. They often have good suggestions when you want to try a different author. Plus, they've had the books/authors I enjoy reading. My grandchildren also enjoy browsing and finding their next anime acquisition.

My favorite book store in the area! Really well laid out. If you are looking for comics, manga, or other visual books, they have a very relevant section of classics and currently serialized stories. Would recommend, and the staff are friendly too!

I would love to just go buy all the books, but I really don't like being asked 'if I have a membership' if I 'want to donate coffee to the troops' or 'fill in this personal info to get these 'free' magazines.' It's exhausting and Amazon is cheaper. Either way I'm supporting big business. Might as well go for the cheapest option. But, I will go if I need something super quick. The cashiers are always super nice, though.

Toilet in the women’s bathroom is broken and won’t flush, there’s a sign that says to hold down until it flushes. I tried and it would not flush. Sign says to go get an employee to flush it for you if you can’t. I can’t tell you how humiliating it is to go get an employee to come look at the urine you left in the toilet. This is unacceptable and should be fixed asap. Also, they tore the coffee shop Joe Muggs out. I’ve had issues with this Bookstore many times before, on top of that they spam you at checkout wanting you to sign up for magazine subscriptions and their membership card. From now on I think I will just drive the extra few miles to Johnson City and go to Barnes and Noble instead.

I love the coffee they have, especially the Harry Potter inspired ones. They have great customer service and have helpede find a book even if they didn't carry it. I absolutely love this store. The employees are amazing!

If this place were an escape room and all I had to do was go out the exit door in less than an hour to survive: at least I'd die happy.They have a very large selection of books and novelty items. The prices are average compared to similar items/stores. They are very well organized with a lot of gift ideas as well.I could spend days in this store just sniffing books and draining my bank account.

I wish they would stop switching sections around and carry more independent publications but they always have a good selection of bargain books and the place is clean and nice. The employees have always been friendly as well.

Love this place. Kids are teenagers now, so they weren't with us. Made me sad there wasn't a little gang running around asking for stuff. Made me realize they have grown up on me. You only have little kids for a little while. Enjoy them. Buy them all the books they ever ask for.

I love the products on offer here but the incessant upselling sends me to Amazon. I'm typically asked to buy a membership, then magazines, and then some kind of donation. And if you politely refuse, you'll earn a glare from the cashier. I'd rather just buy online, than deal with corporate sycophancy up sells.

Store is nice. Was disappointed by EXTREMELY rude clerk...first bad retail experience in TN/VA since arrived mid September. From now on I'll make the drive to JC, or just order from Amazon. Life is too short, and other shopping options available, to be treated badly by anyone.

Always love books a million, while you can order all they have online there is nothing that can top the experience of simply looking around. it's the item you find that you weren't looking for that you'll remember. And at the holiday season fantastic unique gift ideas from toys to weird books and everything in-between.

Clean and well stocked. Was able to get my gf the new pumpkin queen, my brother a new bible and got myself a self reflection journal. All for a great deal even got the Bam card and some pretty great coupons.

I hardly ever shop at BAM but this past Christmas I went by there for my mom to purchase Christmas books for the kids in the family. That part was great! They had plenty of copies of what I needed because I was looking to buy 6 copies of said book. However, the checkout experience was not very pleasant. After spending $70 on books I was basically tricked into signing up for a magazine subscription. So anybody shopping there that this hasn’t happened to please BEWARE! I’m sure the employees are trained to be dishonestly signing people up for these magazines so I’m not blaming them but they will tell you they are free trials and you will get $10 coupon if you pick 3 magazines, they give you a card that in the tiny print tells you that after your 2 month trial they will charge the debit card used during transaction. I’m sure that covers their butts when people find out about being charged for these “free” magazines so I just want to warn people from the customer’s point of view. I understand business and up selling but this is just dishonesty. They have definitely prevented me ever going there again considering I was not even using my own debit, I was using my moms who had sent me to pick up her items. I was very aggravated by this. So people if you shop there just Please be careful and Make sure you are 100% sure of every single detail in what you’re signing up for!!

we just went in here really quickly to get a book my friend needed & I have to say we got little to no help. we asked where the book would be, once we finally found someone to ask, and they said well it might be here in this category OR it might be in this other category. and then they walked off. we had to find where those categories were & had to look forever before we even finally found the book. Overall it was NOT a good experience.

Books A Million has seemingly always given me a reason to shop there. The Kingsport location is top notch, with friendly helping staff, and a nice drink area. When I volunteered with a local special needs adult reading group, they provided us a place to read together and always were very accommodating. Nice job and keep up the great work! Other Books A Millions could model from this one!

I prefer Books-A-Million over all of the other bookstores in the Tri-Cities, TN. It's always well stocked with the classics as well as the contemporary writer's works. Staff has always been extremely professional and helpful when any questions or special needs situations have arrived. I Definitely recommend.

I've been going to this books a million for several years if you need a book get it here because they are super helpful from finding your book down to helping you order it. The coffee shop is also really great and knowledgeable, if you don't know what to order ask for some suggestions from them you won't regret it!
