Is it just me, or is this location difficult to navigate? The staff is fine anytime I'm there. Nothing special, but not bad service. The layout is just terrible and disorganized, in my opinion. The aisles are small, and the aisle descriptions are bad too. If I'm in there for more than a couple items, I always end up walking the whole store multiple times to track down what I need. I always leave this location feeling stressed. Any other store I've been in is orderly, well labeled, and easy to find what I need. Maybe it's time for a remodel?

This is why theft is becoming a massive issue…. One employee working the register and one working 6 self checkouts… don’t be so greedy that you cut out employees to save a few dollars…. I believe she earned her minimum hourly rate a long time ago.

Completely understaffed at 6:00pm. One cashier plus self checkout and there was AT LEAST 30 people in line. Some with completely full carts. The idea that groceries are almost unaffordable these days and corporations continue to short change their customers with terrible service and their employees with stressful situations is ridiculous.

The fish in their meat department is about the best quality you can get in town. Also, the butcher is knowledgeable and friendly.

Why did you stop carrying Ivory Liquid dish detergent? You have like 10 Dawn products. Now I have to go to Food City to Ivory dish detergent. Maybe Kroger benefits from carrying so much dawn.

Kroger needs to stop with the digital coupons. Just put something on sale and let everyone have the deals. Some people doesn't have the means to do those digital coupons.

They won't take a manufacturer coupon I had and the lady at self checkout was rude about it while telling me the person who allowed the coupon before was wrong. I won a few Calypso lemonade coupons in a giveaway the company was running. It's 1 bottle of lemonade for crying out loud that was about $2. I am never shopping at a Kroger again after today after being treated like that.

be aware of their milk products! from time to time, they got expired milk products on shelf. I bought expired milk from them before. I learned to really check the expiration date at this store. today I bought a carton of 2% milk, took a big gulp and threw up. The milk was rancid even though it was within expiration date. I found the package had already been damaged (see picture) and slowly leaked. I emptied the container and headed to the store with it and the receipt. The store refused to do anything, not even a refund. They were adamant that the container need to be at least half full to be eligible for refund. The was still some residue milk left in the container. I invited them just open the cap and smell the content - they would have known what I was talking about. the associate manager laughed it off. guess he just didn't care. well that explains why their milks has the persistent quality problem. this is my last time shopping here.

Every other morning I stop by to see if there's any donuts stocked in bakery case and there isn't any. Nor do they ever have the hot food prepared anymore, location needs a management change

I used to spend around 600 a month at this Kroger, until one of the Managers was very rude to me about trying to return something that i even had the receipt for. The store advertises that if you arent satisfied with a product you can return it with a receipt, that was not the case i was so embarrassed the way i was treated in front of other customers,and employees that i will not spend another dollar in that store. My friends that shopped there, have also stopped going to this Kroger location

This has always been my least favorite Kroger and after today I will never be back. The woman working at the self checkout was extremely rude and condescending because I have trouble with talking machines distracting me while trying to checkout. She accused me of not being able to check myself out after I explained that the talking was the issue, she then argued with me about it. I wish I had gotten her name, but I just wanted to get out of there.

Kroger has really gone down hill in almost every way since they merged with Albertsons - I feel so grateful there is a Publix in Johnson City, TN - Publix does it much better

The store was dirty And the aisles were way too close together and hard to get through. Also when I was in the self check out line tonight I noticed one of the items I was going to buy was opened so I voided it and the cashier at the self check out started laughing really loud with the other worker at the self check out at me for some reason because I didn’t buy the item and they started staring at me and making me feel really uncomfortable while I was in line so no I will not be returning to this Kroger. Do better and grow up

I was fine until making my way to meat deli. Before I was able to investigate pork tenderloin sale, I was overwhelmed by the Smell Of Death! What's up w/ so many delis in store? I'd remove 2 & make way 4 cooler or something other than employee gathering spots.

Came here to get groceries and were told we couldn't use the self-checkout because of the number of items we had in our cart. The manager's name Alyssa was extremely rude. And then when I told her I'm a regular customer I do it all the time. She said that it was fine. I can't do self-checkout because I get tired of the way their employees bag my groceries. And that way I know cold from hot foods. I will not be coming back to this store. Every time I come here it is an issue with something. I always suggest going to the other Krogers near Etsu.

In line the other day, waited about 10 mins before being rang up by a cashier. The line was so long, all the other registers were closed except check check out. Funny how the mangers all came upfront for nothing, all while watching that one cashier deal with the stress of being alone. When they could’ve simply open another register or actually “show some type of leadership” all three managers stood there and did nothing, I notice a lot of stores, especially managers doing this. Store gets super busy, managers come up front just standing by the front door doing absolutely nothing. Older lady at self checkout “cookie” is pretty rude and nasty.

Definitely one of the worst chain grocery stores in the area. I really like the other Kroger in JC, but this location is outdated and small. The aisles are narrow and the floor always looks dirty.There were no employees in the deli area the last time we visited at like 4 in the afternoon when it was supposed to be open and couldn't get any help. This is especially difficult when you're trying to do an Instacart order.The dairy section also seems to be low almost always or have dates that are about to expire or have already expired.Produce is also definitely hit or miss, either it's relatively full or there's hardly anything stocked.Overall, it's well worth the time to go out of the way to the other Kroger, or just Food City.

I like Kroger and this particular one does the best it can with what it has to work with. The physical store itself is way too small and outdated and tired. I seriously hope Kroger is looking at either knocking it down and building a new one -- it definitely needs it.

After placing an order while I was quite sick with COVID I realized the card I used by mistake did not have any available money on it. I called the store and asked if I could use cash instead and still get my order but they would not allow me to change anything. My options were to do it over and come back to Johnson City the next day or have it delivered, but my entire family is down with COVID the cost to have our groceries delivered was not something we can keep doing after being sick for over a week. My family needed the groceries now and I am the only one well enough to shop. I asked if the store could at least let me keep the cart they had put together and then cash out instead but the store manager Taylor told me the district manager was with him at the time and it was Kroger's policy not to expose their employees to someone with COVID. I tried my best to explain I did everything I knew to do on their website to avoid this, but my saved method of payment was not up to date. I just needed to pay for it and then pick up my order as planned. I attempted to change my order in the app, but this didn't work either. So, I masked up and went in the store and eventually found all the items I needed and checked out. In my opinion, the store manager could have allowed me to at least check out with the items already placed in a shopping cart instead of me hobbling along in the store for over an hour sick attempting to get some food to cook for my husband and kid who are also sick.

If you want a pleasant shopping experience, I'm telling you, don't waste your time at either one of the Krogers in Johnson City Tennessee. This particular one has a zero of the baby shopping carts. The stores are filthy, the isles are barely wide enough another person. They never have more than one, or two at the max, associates to check you out, all the rest of the traffic gets pushed to the self checkout. I can't say enough bad things, I'm telling you, pay a little more and go to Publix or drive a little further and go to Food City or Ingles.

Found everything I needed. Wish they would have the 250 tablets of 50+ Women's Vitamins. Not everyone likes gummie vitamins. The gummie vitamins also have sugar which no Diabetic needs and most people can just do without.
