A very friendly store that maintains a great selection. No hassle check out, with an additional self checkout. The people here are pleasant, polite, and seem to take some pride in their work. Please keep up the good work. We'll definitely be back.

This is a very convenient place. However, NEVER ENOUGH HELP. It's not the the employees faults. Management needs better control. Stock is NEVER put up. There are carts full of stock holding up the aisles. Its awful. Someone needs to come in and do an overhaul!!

The blue haired store manager whom did not provide her name had very poor customer service skills. When she was stalking shelves she was slamming stuff around and didn't interact with customers. When i was at the register, the very nice cashier seemed kinda unsettled with having to deal with the manager. I was trying to return a product of Forever pals cat food i bought last night. I gave my cat 1 serving, cat refused to eat it because he didn't like it. So i called the number on the back because of the 100% satisfaction guarantee or money back. I was told without the receipt i could exchange it for store credit which is what i chose to do. When the manager came to do the transaction she seemed very angry for no reason, huffing and puffing, didn't even say hello or acknowledge my presence as a customer, punched at the register buttons with excessive force, slammed Lysol down, and then told me "i can't exchange this because so much of it is gone and it's been open" im like "i literally just bought this last night, poured 1 serving out for my cat and he refused to eat it. I called to number on the back and even told them that it was opened and they said it's fine. If you'd like i can go back to my house, get the portion of unused cat food and bring it back to the store to put it in the bag unless you want to weigh it." Then the blue hair manager gave me a look of disgust and replied "well fine i will just do it anyway". Why she felt the need to make a customer feel bad for no reason is beyond me considering i wasn't even rude with her in any way.Anyway, i do not know what Dollar General policy is on negative employees in management giving the store a bad name. I understand someone having a bad day. I get it. I do. But she should have left her personal issues outside the door before she clocked in or took a personal day if she couldn't handle having excellent customer service while on the clock. Perhaps someone can re train her on the importance of positive customer interaction or provide other options to her for store positions where she doesn't have to interact with others frequently or give her less hours so that she is not as stressed.

This dollar general is clean, well stocked and has a friendly staff. Some of the stores are always half put together or being changed around. This store always looks the same inside and has different stuff but the same normal everyday stuff that you come to expect. Their prices are good and rarely are they out of stock on anything. It's a small dollar general though . That's why 4 stars but it's a 5 by the people and selection they made of the space ..

*** 100 Okalona Rd. Johnson City,Tn***This particular dollar general has turned around and improved in the way the store is now kept up clean, orderly, tidy, displaying product. Associates are helpful, courteous and friendly ( u kno they're happy employees and want to work as a team) and all thanks to store manager Kim. The store was a mess and morale was down. Thanks to Kim putting her knowledge and 120% of her pride into her work and this store, it's a great place to come back and shop at.Thank you Kim. I hope Dollar General management appreciates you as much as our little community.

Slightly cluttered and a little dark in lighting, but all in all, they provide a variety of things that are nice to have for a quick local trip. Their knowledge isn't too extensive on what is where, but they have a general idea which at least narrows down the side of the store to look at. Parking lot was dirty, but they were decent in tone when assistance was needed. Not super friendly, but not rude either. So, all in all, average as the pros and cons equalled out.

They were getting much better at keeping shelves stocked. They used to have a problem with that. But I believe that was due to management at the time. The staff are very nice, and helpful. If they could run both registers when busy they would get 4 stars.

I really enjoy this store, I stay close by so it’s convenient. I just don’t like that it’s always so busy. And most of the time, only 1 person working the front. I can never run in and out. It always takes a little bit. But I love the store and the staff is always so nice !

In & out quick is what I like, it just seems every time I go there is only one worker in the whole building. I think this place could seriously benefit from another employee being added for more help. You can not expect one employee to stock shelves, and help customers without one of these two things being compromised.

Family dollar near Milligan College ..store is always..ALWAYS messy . Products scattered everywhere. Store is always cluttered with boxes / items that need to be put on shelves. I have witnessed people stealing from store a few times. Store is not clean. Cashiers are very kind...but the store always looks like a tornado hit it!! I only stop there because it's on my way to work. But believe me..I try to avoid this store

My favorite place for quick stops on the way home. Good selection of groceries besides the usual dollar store goods. Employees have always been nice even when it's almost closing time.

Now who don't love the dollar store. They have got Alittle bit of everything like little walmart.. dry food, frezzer food, etc drinks,the even got a dollar section I think they were they first one to do the dollar section. You got anything from house to dogs & cats, baby, crafting, clothing etc I could name stuff all day. I wish this one have fruit they don't not that I know of... Thanks for reading my review I try so other ppl know.

If I could give negative stars, I would.“Manager” Amanda should not be an employee here let alone a manager. Claimed my money was “counterfeit” and wouldn’t mark it with a pen or check with a machine, the only way she was “proving” it was counterfeit was by it not having a watermark. It was a $20 made in 1988, money didn’t start getting watermarks until 1992. Police was called and proved my money was REAL. Called to speak to manager above this lady and she was the only manager there. Continued to cuss me and tell me I was a fat b****, I’m 9 months pregnant, and hung up. Corporate has been called, waiting on return call from them. Will not be shopping here ever again.

I love to shop at Dollar General!! Am extremely disappointed they moved the shop in Elzabethton, TN. From the spot across from save a lot!! I could do all my shopping at both places!! Now it's extremely hard to get in and out of the dollar general across the road!! Please move it back beside Save Lot!!! Thanks

I don't know where to start with my comments on this store..I used to love to go to our Milligan Dollar General Store,but anymore I'd rather drive to the Walmart. You can't hardly get all the way down the isles, because there's ALWAYS carts(most of the time"loaded")sitting around,there is hardly ever an employee stocking. You need an item,there isn't any stocked on the shelves,you look and there it is,just sitting on the cart, ok so you ask an employee about it and they say,check back later and I'll try getting it out and on the shelf,so I say ok,thank you. So I return back to the(same)store A WEEK LATER(REMIND YOU) and the SAME CART IS STILL FREAKING SETTING THERE!!! AND IT'S STILL NOT UNLOADED!!! What are they doing,because you can look at the store and plainly see that there isn't any work being done! It's not only an issue with the carts,but the whole store!

Not one of the cleanest places they carry almost everything you may need. Because they have so many items their aisles are crowded and shelves almost jammed full of items. You may have to dig your way thru their shelves or just ask an employee...which also may take awhile since there are not alot of employees working at one time.

Sometimes checking out can take a min. And for four days straight they had these huge metal things with stock throughout the store so you couldn't even get down half the Isles to shop it's getting worse and worse here

The ONLY reason I gave this store 2 stars is because the guy that works there was super friendly and was actually what seemed like to me a very good employee. I've never had problems with this store until yesterday. I was in the Halloween department and my daughter and I were checking out this statue of a skeleton and I look down on the silver platter he is holding and I see this HUGE (at least 2 inches long) COCKROACH. Thinking it was fake and part of the setup I ACTUALLY TOUCHED IT AND THE F'N THING STARTED WIGGLING!!!! I've included pictures along with how I knew WITHOUT A DOUBT that it was a cockroach. I am so grossed out by this, like what if customer are taking these big scary nasty looking things home with them. OMG I shiver to even think if I ever have.

They keep changing employees for some reason but last time I was here new employees isle full of carts with stock and didnt have in stock why I went Friskies wet cat food Really no wet but 3 small Sheba's my cats would think I trying to starve them Maybe they will get it right soon

I love this place!!!! The people are nice and they have gotten it more organized than it use to be... Some things are kind of high but lots of good deals too... The cigarettes are outrageous....
