Our Humane Society is a wonderful place to find an animal to adopt or foster an animal. They love every animal as their own. They understand if you have other animals and you bring a new one in that just doesn't work. They understand especially when they see you've put the work in. Grace is wonderful to work with, and I'm thankful for all her help!

I have applied online to place a dog into the adoption process and I realize that it's a difficult and sometimes long process. However, I don't understand why it tells me over 250 have viewed Charlie's profile but not one person is interested? I have not received any new emails regarding this and don't know what to do with Charlie, financially I cannot afford him anymore and our landlord is threatening to kick us out if I don't re-home him. Any suggestions from the public? Please help, this sweet dog deserves a good home and I'm not longer able to foster him. Thank you.

Very nice and friendly people. I applied to adopt a puppy and the got back to me fast. I was able to bring him home within a week. It would have been sooner but I didnt have all of the adoption fees upfront. They were nice enough to hold him for a few days.You can tell they really care about the animals and try to place them with the best home they can.

We had a wonderful experience adopting our cat, Miss Kitty, from the Humane Shelter. They make sure the pet is a perfect fit for your home. Miss Kitty was well taken care of, and her adjustment to our house was quick. I chalk that up to the love she got from the wonderful staff. If you're looking to add a furry friend to your family, I highly recommend the Humane Society. They truly love all the animals in their care.

We had a really great experience adopting from the Humane Society.It was obvious that their primary concern is pairing the right pets with the right homes. After submitting our application and talking with one of the volunteers by phone, we went to meet a few puppies. We had our eye on one in particular before we met them, but during our meeting with the pups, it became obvious that another one was a much better fit for our family. And she really has plugged into our lives extremely well.Each person we met and talked with had great advice to help us starting out. They were all incredibly kind and helpful, and in several instances they took time out of their own schedules to accomodate us.This is a good organization with great people who genuinely care.

When we lost our beloved dog of 15 years, we decided it would be best to honor him by adopting a puppy. We had been thinking about it for a few months when we wandered in to an adoption event the Humane Society held at Petsmart. The minute saw Watson (formerly Walter) we fell in love with him. Everyone at The Humane Society was wonderful. It was a really great experience. The puppies had clearly been with wonderful foster parents and were well socialized. He fit right in with our little family and we cannot imagine our life without him. He’s the sweetest boy and incredibly smart. I highly recommend adoption and I would absolutely recommend the Humane Society. It is obvious that they want their animals to go to loving and responsible homes.

I wish I could give a positive review. I searched ASPCA via Google, and Appalachian Highlands popped up as one of the first results. I had an emergency where 13 dogs were being housed in far beyond disgusting conditions. I called Appalachian Highlands numerous times within their office hours on the weird days they were open. Left voicemails, even tried texting the number, and never heard back from them. I used to run a rescue, and if someone ever called, at any time, we either answered, or responded ASAP. DO BETTER!!!

Great place to adopt an animal from! They do NOT have animals onsite, they are all in foster homes. However, if you go to their website you can see the available animals. If you see an animal you want to meet just fill out an application. They will contact you quickly and set up a meet and greet, where if the animal is ready you can then take your new pet home that day! You can find a pure bred animal too! seriously consider adopting your best friend!

I don’t want to be a bother and I know you all are a non profit organization. I cry was wondering if there was away for you all to help me. I have about 5 cats that people have just dropped off they are so precious to me. I don’t want them to leave me. I enjoy them so much. I just want them all fixed and have some shots but I can’t do all this on my own. I have only one in my house and she has had 5 serious seizures the last one , I didn’t think she would come back from. I don’t have any meds for her. I give her a lot of love ❤️ and hugs and kisses and I pray the whole time she is going through it. So please, please say you are willing to help me out. Thank You 🙏 and God Bless You all from the bottom of my heart ♥️. Chellé and my cat babie. P.s. Babie has passed away since I last took this picture; Babie has come to me for help, love and affection. I gave her all that and more. She recently passed away from a bad seizure. They are awesomeeeee!!! Mr Cody was such a caring young gentleman and he cared so much about my baby. I was not financially able to help my babygirl with her hernia and getting her fixed. I paid what I could and they helped with the rest. Thank you so much Mr. Cody, the Humane Society!!!

They help with spay and neuter costs as well as working with you to make sure your animal finds the best home possible. The facility is always clean when I've been, and they're very kind people.They helped me find a home for a kitten I had found a few years back, and they've helped with getting a few cats fixed.

These kind folks helped hook my family and I up with a beautiful little chihuahua mix who's been the love of our lives. The process was smooth and it definitely seemed like they were interested in making sure the puppy went to the best home possible. I'm glad I could provide that home. Everyone was really nice, especially Halee, who was the one who sat down with me and worked out all the paperwork. The puppy had been taken care of by a foster who got her totally pad trained before I took her home, which made training so much easier at home. Thanks so much for this sweet baby and for all your hard work.

We’ll call animal control 2.5 hrs ago about a dog without water or shade in 90 degree day now the people are burying it in back yard now they finally figured out it needed attention!! Pitiful

I adopted Abby, German shephard mix. I was told she was very trainable but would take a lot of work. I am astonished at how smart this girl is. Within two days she is house trained. Wonderful companion! The staff are so helpful and a good organization for saving unwanted animals. I recommend this place if anyone looking to adopt !

The Humane Society and Cody directing this facility go above and far beyond for you. I can not say enough about him and the new leadership. Amazing, treats my DOG so well and myself. I have worked closely with the dog foster program in Washington County. They are absolutely amazing and do so much for the animals in our community! This organization is incredible and I feel honored to have been able to work with some of the best Mary James and Cindy Robinson in fostering and volunteering! The Humane Society helps not only the animals of Johnson City, but the whole community at large. They are very giving and helpful if you are ever in need of information or even in desperate times and need a helping hand for your pets. As a pet owner of four dogs and one cat, I can personally say the last several months they have been our saving grace. You cannot ask for a more loving, caring and giving organization. It was very friendly and clean, a little disorganized. However, I could tell the animals where very well taken care of and the staff treated them well. I was getting a voucher to get my dog neutered and the process was super simple and really cheap. The voucher covers all expenses to get them fixed as well as a rabies shot. Only $45 , a vet would have charged me hundreds for that.

This Humane Society is amazing. I have been fostering for them over the last 1 and half. Halee does an excellent job and matching the perfect owner with each pet. Mary and Cindy are great at answering any questions or helping with any concerns. Fostering has been an amazing experience. I look forward to continuing to work with these ladies.

I am so grateful for the work The Humane Society of Washington County is doing for our community. They have gone above and beyond in assisting with strays, fostering, adoption events, and spay/neuter events. Even though resources are limited, they are generous, always sharing and doing what they can to help others. I have reached out several times about different situations and have always had a quick - if not immediate response - and offers of help. They have never turned me away. Thank you for all you do!

I adopted a cat from the HSOWC and I was very pleased with the staff and experience. They genuinely care about the animals and placing them in homes. They do a thorough job of placing the animals in the right homes and ensuring a great start in their life. The facility was clean and had plenty of room for the cats.

The Humane Society if Washington County is one of the best humane society/rescue groups in our community. Specifically, the foster coordinators Mary and Cindy. They bend over backwards and devote so much time, money and effort into making sure all the homeless dogs and cats in our community have the resources they need to find loving, forever homes. I have worked with them professionally and personally and can say they (and the whole staff/volunteers) are top notch and really care about what they are doing.

We are currently fostering the sweetest little puppy through the Humane Society of Washington County and have been so happy! Halee is one of my contacts and is always so sweet and personable. Fostering is a wonderful thing because you are helping to socialize the dogs/cats so they will be ready for their forever home and you get to love on these sweet animals! It's Win/Win!

I can't say enough things about this shelter! Cody Storm and his team are an amazing group of people that work tirelessly to help animals and making sure that they go to the best forever homes. Having personally volunteered at the shelter and worked with Cody, he is there day in and day out, the first one to get there and the last one to leave. Everyone else that I've met is just as hardworking and kind, the best people and advocates you would want for these critters. They don't get enough credit for all the work they do!

I had a wonderful experience adopting my beautiful Priscilla, the process was extremely easy, the staff extremely knowledgeable and question mother was wonderful. I still keep in touch with the Foster mother and usually about once a month I will send her pictures just to let her know how well Priscilla is fitting into my family.
