I have bought 4 Mystery Snails from here and asked the worker if they sold for for them. She said no they only need fish food and algae. They didn't tell me I need calcium in the water and food for them. I almost lost them all because they were not answering my question properly. Some of the workers need to be educated more on the things that are sold in the store. If they don't know they need to ask someone who does know the answer. Also if you are selling any kids and of snails, you need to sell the food for them as you are a specialty store. And Amy wasn't working the day o bought my MS.

Very nice selection of fresh and salt water. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about fresh and salt water fish. They have a wonderful selection of fish. The owner (Amy) is very friendly and courteous. I have been going to her stores for over 10 years and have always been happy. The fish are always healthy and very reasonably priced. I drive from South Knoxville to her store in Jefferson City because of the service and quality of fish. Anyone that is in the hobby of fish fresh or saltwater should check out her store.

I just recently got into the salt water hobby, and this is by far the best fish/coral/invert store I’ve found. They have extremely friendly and helpful staff as well as an amazing assortment of products for any saltwater enthusiasts! And we’re very helpful in answering any and all questions I had/have. They even do water tests! By far I recommend this place to any and everyone!

Very disappointed with the service I received today. I bought a fish from this store several days ago and once again the fish has died on me. Every single fish I have purchased has not made it past a week. Spoke to the owner the day prior letting her know that the fish died. She asked me to bring in my water sample along with the fish and she would provide me at minimum a half credit. I drove an hour out of my way the following day to have the exact opposite happen. The staff member first wanted to charge me $7 to run a water test and after running the test tells me he can’t issue a refund as I have “a little bit of amonia” in my my tank. The test they ran was an API test and I told them that can’t be right. I have thousands and thousands of dollars of fish and coral in my tank. Only their fish died. I went home and tested my water, amonia is perfect. When initially purchasing the fish, the owner told me that fish had been in store for 3 months. Found out today, the fish was only days old. I would have never purchased a brand new fish from them if I knew this prior. DO NOT purchase any fish from this store. They are sick and the customer support does not make up for that!!!! A customer has been lost.

Oh boy what can I say??? Just the coolest place ever!!! Had dr apt in Jefferson city and stopped here afterwards. Nicest people, helped me a lot. The best selection of coral and anomalies ever :). I could've spent a fortune. But since being new to saltwater the nice employee warned against it. Told me to wait a bit longer before spending money and then maybe loosing the live darlings lol. I will stop by every time after dr apt. Great place

Hands down the most helpful fish store I've ever been to. They know what they are talking about and won't sell you things without making sure you know what your getting how to care for it and won't sell you something they don't have full faith is disease free and healthy. I've never seen even a single dead fish inside the store and have been going for over a year. 10 of 10 would always recomend.

A little sad how small the Axolotl tanks are for their size. Other than that my experience wasn't bad here. But I do think those animals need bigger tanks to thrive in while waiting to go to their new home. Stress can take years off of their lives.

At first it seemed like a good store. But as I shopped there longer more and more things came into view.Sick fish, overpriced coral, questionable equipment, and just a overall feel of being watched by upper management like they thought I was gonna steal something.Buy online or from colorful corals instead. The price is less or worth it to not bomb your tank with Flatworms, bristleworms, velvet, ick, or briopsis

I worked here for 5 years (short guy long hair), and have met many of you that have reviewed. I had to leave due to verbal abuse from upper management, over worked, under paid, and unsanitary environments. Black mold everywhere, we were told it was our fault. Exposed wires and burnt outlets, same story. I quit and now the owners are holding my check. Stay far far away, these people are greedy and abusive.

I started working on my pond a couple of months ago & finally decided to buy a fish to see how it done before adding more. I went to The Coral Reef & it was my first time ever stopping by there. The guy working there was extremely helpful & was very nice & polite. Instead of just selling me some fish he offered to test my pond water for free before buying any fish. The fish tanks were very clean & well maintained but the employees help & patience & him taking the time out to help me was greatly appreciated. I will be going back Saturday to have my pond water tested & hopefully be able to buy a couple of fish to put in my pond.

So where is not only Chris's checks but where are the rest of the ones your with holding too. It's unbelievable that just Beacause someone stands up for themselves and what is right you decide to act like childish scum. I hate that remember when I worked having to watch so many poor animals die due to the lack of medical care and preventative care. The reason they lose so much money every year is for any reasons due to their own negligence. You've verbally abused and harassed your employees including minors, and put your employees in life threatening situations that could stop their heart on the spot and create brain damage and life long problems from one misshap, because you'd rather sell these animals and make your money then properly take adequate care of your business. I've heard Amy was a wonderful and honorable woman years ago and I wished it experience that however I did not and when trying to do what was right and necessary for the quality of life and longevity of these animals. I'd be shut down for pointless reasons and pull the body's from the tank the next day or week. Now this didn't happen all the time but when I work there it was 50 50 that there was something that could be done. And "oh, I'll get to it later" asks 4 more times, same answer. There are rats and mice that live in the walla and vents. The buildings have many frayed and exposed wires and electrical sockets. I can bet everyone that's work they're has been electrocuted then told they are lying and then the gas lightning begins unless you can get someone else to vouch for you in the moment. Dropped food on the floor once and roaches. Came right for it. Usually you don't seem them during the day unless it's bad and they obviously don't like people. So how bad do you think it is if over 50 roaches of all sizes and 2 breeds come running to your feet to eat.... there's is black mold that covers every building and they do not have a way to deal with it. I've seen it cleaned once in the store and that was by my own hand because I was not going to put up with it. Your expected to use your car to pick up 200+ pounds of salt and if you don't you'll definitely receive a look and a sly aditude the rest of the day and hearing someone else be asked and they mention how you refused, to make you look bad in front of others when in reality you don't get compensation for using your own vehicle and with that weight on that frequency it will take a toll on your car. The likelihood of being able to use the company cars are slim too (im sure that's insurance tho) this company is beyond ridiculous souly due to their treatment of their people, the animals, their building, and equipment.

They have a large variety of designer clownfish and saltwater fish! They breed most of their fish in their own hatchery so most are tank raised and they offer many types of fish. We purchased 2 paired naked clownfish and a foxface. All are healthy, peaceful, and beautiful in our tank. The staff is friendly and the store prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this store for all saltwater fish!

Horrible service the only good employee that worked there was abused and used still owing checks that are owed to him I have had numerous fish die from there and they wanted to test water and it was perfect and they still didn't give refund not to mention the mold issues that this building has black mold at that STAY AWAY

This is the most helpful, most informative aquarium store in my area (Johnson City). I have a lot of experience in freshwater aquariums, but I started up a saltwater tank 8 months ago. When I was ready to start adding corals to my tank, I went to the Coral Reef with a lot of questions. A guy with long hair pulled back helped me pick out a few beginner pieces, later helped me again picking out more advanced corals, and then a 3rd time advising me against what I came after and recommended other corals for the specific area of my tank I was looking for corals to add. I've bought nearly 20 corals and several cuc and all are doing great!!! I'd recommend this store over anywhere in the East Tennessee area.
