A couple years ago I applied for a job at this place. My application was denied the very moment I gave it to the manager. I was told they hired a person on the autism spectrum once before and it didn't work out for the business " so they denied my application because I am on the autism spectrum. This is illegal and extremely biased. While I was in thr facility I seen black mold on walls, electrical outlets hanging out of walls and many other fire and health hazards. The way I was looked down on because I am on the spectrum didn't sit well with me and others in the community.

I found the older man who owns SA parking lot quite rude. He blew his horn at me and asked what I was doing there and was I there for SA? I asked what is SA? He said "that's my business" but that's his parking lot. I was seeing the therapist next door. I asked where was I supposed to park he said he "he didn't care" but I had to move my vehicle. So when I moved I hollered and asked him did he own the gravel? He said No! And I'm like ok just wanted to make sure. Since you own this .. have a blessed day. He slammed his door shut and drove off. If this is his place of business I feel for his workers. No reason to be rude. If you don't want people parking there may I suggest better signage. And no parking signs..

Sustainable Aquatics is our go to supplier for clown fish to stock our shop, Discount Aquarium Fish and Reef in Tempe Arizona. Healthy fish, great prices! What's not to like. And their customer service is second to none. Quit clowning around and go to the best!

This was my sons first job ever. His goal is to get into marine biology and he thought “what an amazing first step!” He applied several times before they agreed to give him a shot. He worked immediately after getting homeFrom school a couple hours a day and worked every weekend. Was let go recently which really tore him up. After speaking with him, and him explaining how people were leaving due to unsanitary work environments, I was then told that he was disgraced by them telling him “we don’t have management to watch you”. Also, was informed that just recently when flushing dead fish down the toilet (as he was instructed), the OLD lid on the toilet broke. He was instructed that he would need to pay 30.00 for company damages. He did pay for it, but to be asked to pay for such a minuscule thing, it disgusts me. I’m sorry but after some of the things he’s explained to me, they made the right choice by removing him from such an establishment. And I pray down the road, as heartbroken as he is, that he sees it was a good mistake.

Worked here for 5 years, mainly at the Coral Reef. The company is unsanitary, verbally abusive, and just awful. Black mold everywhere, 2 weeks into leaving i can already breathe better. Owner is holding my final paycheck for as long as possible out of spite. The only good manager there is Amy, and she sadly is also treated horribly by the owners; which are her family and husband.

STAY AWAY! I've had many jobs in my life, and this was by far the worst of them all. Matthew, John, and Amy are some of the most degrading people I've ever met. Simple questions about benefits couldn't be answered and the always ended up turning it into a personal attack on myself and other employee. This so-called company is the epitome of a "hostile work environment". I would NEVER recommend anyone work here or purchase fish from them and support these terrible people.

Never worked here. Am hopeful that they treat their people well. From the quality of the product and service that they delivered to me, I would have to consider the possibility that some of the disgruntled workers just weren’t used to being held to a high standard. The truth usually lies somewhere in between.I can say that they deliver a superior product, with great service, at a fair price.

Went in for an interview, the CEO of the company was the rudest person I’ve ever met in my whole entire life. He was provoking, attacking, and assaulting me and my fiancé with his words and assumptions and trying to diagnose me with ACE, telling me I can’t and I haven’t learned anything because I didn’t know the equation of a circle immediately when he asked. My fiancé tried to stand up and shake his hand when he came in the room and he told him to sit down. He Told me I had an attendance issue even though I’ve always showed up EARLY to work. It got so bad we had to just leave.. please don’t work here save yourself the trouble until the “CEO” gets demoted.

By far the worst place I’ve ever worked.I put in a year and a half with Sustainable Aquatics and it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had! I’m ashamed to even have it on my resume!Matthew, John, and Amy are all so degrading and unappreciative! I came in early, worked late, and not once did I receive a “thank you”Myself along with countless of employees have expierved this demeaning act from the “management”I’ve seen over 100 people come in and out the same door because they cannot stand the way they treat people.Do not work here. The emotional attacks are not worth the pay.

The team at SA is very friendly. I wish their freshwater selection was larger, so I tried Segrest Farms. Let me tell you while they may have a smaller selection than segrest the quality is ten times better. I will sacrafice selection for quality next time and will be back to sustainable aquatics! Btw the axolotls are very healthy! :)

Ever since my friends started using them, i know that they give a 5 star experience. Almost none of the fish that come have died in the bag, and if there are, they will give you credit for the fish. They are very nice people and have very nice and healthy fish.

I was under the impression that Sustainable Aquatics was a store. Turns out after driving thirty minutes to Jefferson city, it’s actually an online store. It seems like a great place if you’re buying fish online, but if you’re looking to go to a local fish store, this place isn’t it. Hopefully they clarify on the social media pages that they are strictly an online store😬

Great guys. Awesome 0lace to visit. They have made incredible accomplishments in their line of work. Hard to believe that it all started with one man and his pet fish in his parents basement. Definitely go check it out.

Do you like fish? They have all the fish you can want. They have a "sister" store right down the street also. Aquariums, as you guessed, is the speciality. Relaxing if you just need a momentary getaway.
