Those dogs are starved. Have worms, throwing up and have abnormal poops. Management is cruel and this place needs to be shut down. Dogs deserve so much better even in a shelter. They have dog fights because no one is paying attention to the animals. Dog have cuts on their feet and paws. Just completely cruel.

I called CARE early Saturday afternoon after failing to find the owner of a stray dog on Facebook. They told me that they would be able to scan her for a chip and I brought her in 30 minutes later. The staff were friendly and helpful. They located her chip almost immediately and helped me find the owner who, as it turns out, lives just around the corner. This story has an even happier ending for me. The owner has been unable to keep up with this high-energy breed and agreed to let me adopt her. Thanks to the folks at CARE for helping make this happen.

Love these guys! Clean, we'll run, good people. Got Bo the hound and Felix the car (yeah, I know...) from them. I stop back to visit now and then, and bring dog and cat food from time to time. They do good work, please support them! Moist and Meaty dog food and Purina Cat Chow are always welcome, they have a LOT of hungry mouths to feed!

I adopted Morticia a few weeks ago. She is very loving. I would like to get another cat from you but I don’t know how she would react.

“Saving Grace”We recently adopted a wonderful dog at CARE that had been brought in by Animal Control. She had been severely injured and needed surgery immediately to amputate her shattered rear leg. That, by itself, is a horrific story that needs to be told about people that injure and abuse any animal. It is certainly Aggravated Animal Abuse and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The director of CARE, Mindy, and her staff were so very loving, attentive, compassionate and professional with our dog! Mindy even went above and beyond by taking her home at night to further care for her in her home. What these good people see on a daily basis is so sad and difficult to understand. They do so with courage and conviction and purpose, and should be commended and applauded. GOD BLESS and THANK YOU all for Saving Grace! 💝

Rescued the cutest puppy that had been abandoned with her sister both contracted parvo sadly her sister died but our baby survived. Definitely a survivor was dropped off on side of road contracted parvo and is still pushing. She had me fooled the day I first saw her in her cage not making a sound acted so sweet I fell in love instantly we named her Foxy which my old man's last name is fox but she does look like a fox. I thought she was gonna be so good and sweet lol the only time the Lil hussy is good is when she's sleeping. But we couldn't love her anymore than we do. So glad we went there.

Not only did I work for this establishment for a couple months and everybody in the place has bad attitudes, poor leadership, and many others thing. Besides that fact during the cold weather my parents decided to foster two dogs but intended to keep one. Whenever they took one back because they were interested in adopting the other to get a feel how he’d do, he changed alittle and my parents decided ultimately he would need a fenced in yard to be happy which my parents don’t have. Mind you after having this dog 3 weeks the shelter not giving my parents anything to foster then, they don’t thank my mom or anything when she brings the dog back. On top of not thanking her or my dad for what they did for the shelter, they were rude to her as well about returning him him from foster instead of adopting him. One thing I don’t play about is being rude to my mom, if I had half a mind I’d post these pictures of the shelter that I have but I’m saving that legally. Yall go anywhere else but here because the entitlement and bad attitudes are just horrible here. These dogs aren’t all taken to vet even if they need it or checked out either, please ensure your animals are healthy if you do get one from here! I watched one dog die after being gave a treat that got stuck in his stomach and no one took him to vet for 2 days. Stay far away from this place and help any other shelter that deserves it cause this one doesn’t.

I had adopted these two beautiful girls from this facility. Like another person commented, I was told they had been dewormed and I was told they had their first kitten shots and would be getting their second shots the day I picked them up, only to find out that they were not even old enough to get their shots when I picked them up. Upon taking them to the vet to get their shots, we come to find out that they had plenty of parasites. They had to be dewormed twice and still may need to get a more comprehensive parasite blood work panel done. The doctors wanted to try to wait on that until they got a little bit bigger because they have to take a significant amount of blood for that test. The darker one got pretty sick before we were able to get things under control. We also found out that they DO NOT even test them for life threatening illnesses like Feline Leukemia which means you could potentially be adopting a very ill kitten or cat. Thank God my kittens came out negative for any life threatening diseases.Today they went for their second round of shots and the vet was very happy because they both are finally at a decent weight although at 3 1/2 months old, they should both still weight more. The darker one in spite of all we have done and the special foods the vet put them both on is still well under 3lbs. I told the doctor today that there was a time that I thought we were going to lose the Tortie kitten and the vet looked at me and told me that she had worried about that too. I have already spent between $1500-$2000 on these kittens, which I am fine spending…….but what if someone adopted them that did not have that amount of money to spend.I also had to wait on their micro chips which were finally sent to me because they had run out. A rescue should never run out of chips!! Apparently their tax exempt status had expired and needed to be renewed before their order could be shipped. As a former grant writer, that in itself In unacceptable.Don’t get me wrong, I like the staff, but this location needs to get it together and do better!I was also told that these girls were litter mates. The vet questions that because the calico is already getting her adult teeth and the Tortie is not as well as the substantial size difference between the two. Although, they very well may still be litter mates and the Tortie just be delayed due to the fact she was having such a hard time. Either way, I won’t adopt from this location again.

We paid $100 for a kitten. I was told he had a booster shot, dewormed, and was fostered. Beware, we took our kitten to a vet in Nashville, he’s infested with ear mites, tested positive for round worms and hadn’t been treated. We were told this cat was a girl turned out he’s a boy and we didn’t find out until we picked him up.When I called the shelter pretty much was told they clean ears, which they didn’t see pic below, and that we were on our own. They are a small shelter and can’t afford to care for kittens and refund. We were charged for a sick kitten and he’s on 3 meds. Don’t adopt from this shelter. Was told his birthday was 1/2/2023 and another paper from the shelter said 1/30/2023. I will NEVER go back to this shelter.

We donated a large black garbage bag of blankets and 4.5 bags of royal canine dog food after my baby Mia passed away. The staff was very friendly and grateful for the donation. The facility was clean.

This week I found my perfect Dog here. I could not raised a more perfect dog from a pup. And what is more amazing he has been extremely protective of me and my mom since day 1. They were calling him Scotty but he soon let me know his name is Rocky. He is wonderful with our other pets too. It's like he has always been part of our family.

Very rude. Not helpful at all. Called Humane society and she recommended calling Sheriff because they refused to take a stray.

I would want people to understand that the staff at cares go above and beyond every day for the animals. They constantly work with lack of funds, resources, and space. They give up personal time and money to care for hurt and abused animals. My family fosters pets as much as possible and for everyone not to be giving the staff 5 stars just amazes me. Go volunteer for a week and see what they deal with on a day to day basis. Instead of complaining about whatever, why not help out, donations help. Time and volunteering help. Truly a hard working, caring staff doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Best place to adopt!I used to work there. I just couldn't continue. Injured animals broke my heart and I just couldn't witness that. But I give a LOT of credit to those who can and do help those precious souls.I recently thought my 13-year-old cat, D'Arcy, whom had been with me since his birth, had wandered off and died, I adopted a baby boy cat that was born and fostered at this shelter. I brought home Alydar D'Niro Scorsese to join 1-year-old Valentino Jalapeno DiToro (a baby I found).TWO MONTHS later? Sir D'Arcy Dollface von Feist was FOUND!!! ALIVE!So..... I encourage ALL cat parents to have hope. My 13-year-old baby was found alive after missing for TWO MONTHS!! And he is still with me, thriving better than ever!AND he has 2 baby brothers."My Three Sons"I encourage EVERYONE who reads this to adopt a cat, especially seniors and special needs, or keep, bring in, and love that stray cat that comes around your back door looking for food and love. You won't be sorry. Those kids give back love you never knew existed. And if a dog comes around? Please save them, too.

Why name shelter care if you don’t care? I adopted a kitten which was critical conditions. (Which I didn’t know till the day after). I toke the kitten the day after to get its first round of shots and an annual exam. I am glad I did because in a matter of one hour, I find out the kitten was in critical conditions. It’s The kitten had an upper and lower respiratory infection and fluid in its lung. I had to dish out a huge medical bill for the neglect of this shelter. I called the shelter to ask for prior history and they said they did not have any though another employee told me something other wise. The sad part is when I ask employees if they would cover the cost of the bill, they told me it was under my care and up to me.How are you going to release a kitten in such conditions and have your hands clean from it. The emotional damage to deal with this and having a veterinarian telling you that the chances of this baby living is very slim.To add the simple fact I had to clean my whole entire place so it wouldn’t infect my dog (told by the doctor)It’s NOT okay to release an animal in these conditions and make the new owner pay for it for your neglect. These animals do not deserve to suffer and if it wasn’t for me taking it to the vet the day after, he would have died in my place with absolute pain.

I would not even give one star if I didn’t have to. These people are rude and arrogant. Refused to take a dog in regardless the circumstances. Belittled and cursed me when I took the dog there. Then flipped me the bird as I was driving away.

Please come get these poor animals. They are being taken care of by a staff that works them like a factory job. in and out. The board only cares about who is at the shelter. They do not care about the animals. The employees were underpaid and overworked. The treasurer continued to not pay employees for their time and altered their hours for no reason. This shelter is in shambles all because the board needs to be reprimanded.

Worst Animal shelter. Have two cats we are unable to take with us because our new home we are renting. Lady with short hair and nose rings wouldn't take two cats, basically was told to just throw them to side of road. We was explaining to her we couldn't take them and told us to just do it anyway. Ridiculous can't believe how heartless she was. Someone like this should not work around animals it's hard telling how terrible she treats the animals there. Terrible manners should be fired plan and simple. I wouldn't leave a Gold fish with her!

Great experience from start to finish... and beyond. Adopted my new kitty there, Mufasa. He's a loveable 6 month old who was well cared for while under their care. I noticed some flea activity on him when I got home, called them the next day and they were more than happy to help treat him. I took him in and they gave him a 3 month flea treatment right away, no extra charge. They also took the time to answer my other questions, as Mufasa is joining a home here with two other cats, and they told me if I needed any other assistance or questions, to please let them know. I appreciated that they care about their animals beyond just the point of adoption. Great experience all the way!

No CARE for the animals. Full of drama and bad attitudes. All they CARE about is making money. The people that are left ,after firing all employees they considered invaluable, do not know how treat or take care of any of the animals. The worst run shelter possible. I wouldn’t trust them with a mouse.

Don't call them if you need help for an animal....Literally called and pleaded with them to help with two great Pyrenees dogs that were on the side of the road and needed help. Instead of helping or trying to help I was told they were making calls to find someone to come out.I waited and waited. Called back and was told they were still calling... Nobody came these dogs were so matted and covered in bugs and they really needed help. But you know making sure you close at exactly 5 was more important.... 4:30pm they shut their phone off and stopped recieving calls...Animal control was closed so this "CARE" center was their only hope....but don't worry citizens took great care of these dogs to ensure they were safe and they will be taken to a facility that in fact does CARE! If I could do a zero star I definitely would.
