I have been a long time lover of City Thrift. I usually go at least once a week, sometimes more. People often complained about high prices, but I was always able to dig and find some affordable items. Here lately the prices have been absolutely ridiculous. Cheap brands priced at $15+ for used clothing. Items priced higher than they would have been new in the store. It’s honestly shocking to see the prices they come up with. I have included photos of some tags I saw this week to give an idea. I have spoken with other long time shoppers and we have all been very disappointed with the pricing structure lately. The point of a thrift store is to find used items for a good deal- not used items priced higher than they were brand new.I do want to say that the staff is always very nice and friendly, and I always have a nice shopping experience. But the prices are getting way out of hand.

Little disappointed in organization factor...lot of things to look through everywhere...did find a print I liked. But really have to take your time going through. I'll be back when I can go early in day instead of just before they close.

Customer service could be better. I think that is my only gripe. Some cashiers act as though they don’t want to check you out, talking on the phone instead of working, and rush you through the line. Store itself is usually decent and clean, associates clean up behind the guest. Prices vary- some new things with tags, contemporary brands are priced to the higher end. Look for deals.

My experience at City Thrif was a freaking Roller Coaster Ride “…Every day there was a different attitude, a different work ethic..a different way of doing things..unprofessional people with authority..favoritism…training doesn’t exist..unnecessary and negative conversations that weren’t discussed privately..the whole process of getting hired was unprofessional and stressful as hell!!! As far as the pay the job I had it was descent but bi-weekly doesn’t work well for me. I really hated the job but needed the money 👎👎👎!!! Corporate reality needs to get new “Bosses “! Customer service needs to be improved.

I generally have enjoyed shopping here but I must warn people about the terrible exchange policy. Despite shoes being generally considered apparel as they cover a portion of the body, City Thrift does not consider them as such and therefore does not honor the exchange policy for clothing. There is basically no obvious posting of this except a poor sign by the "dressing room" we later discovered. The receipt says clothing can be exchanged within 14 days. We purchased an overpriced pair of shoes ($20 is a lot for thrift shoes!) but it was for a good cause and we thought we could exchange them if they didn't work. The store personnel were combative and ungracious and it has really soured me on the store as a whole.

Very clean, organized and friendly place to shop. You get help if needed and will give you updates on future sales. Customer service was beautiful. I loved the lady who waited on us. Such a sweet soul. Looking forward to coming back next week! 😀

Great store. One of my new favorites. Prices are fair (jeans can be a bit high) but the store is clean, staff is friendly, and they always have lots of options for all sizes. I've been twice now and I never leave empty handed. Always go through each rack because you might miss a really good find! A girl by the name of Cassidy checked me out both times and she is very kind.

I am not sure what has changed over the last few months but City Thrift gets more and more overpriced by the day! I understand inflation but no one in their right mind is paying $20-30 for a used Under Armour hoodie that you can get at the Goodwill for $7. This place is higher priced than Plato’s Closet but without the quality or service.

Great prices, nice selection, and friendly staff! The clothing is very well organized and easy to shop. This store has the better discounts and and sales than any other thrift store in the area. There are always two color tags discounted weekly, one at 30% and one at 50%. Every Tuesday seniors 55 and over can also get 30% on all the regular price items. And on Wednesday anyone with a military ID can get that same 30% discount on all new merchandise that's full price.About once a month they have a 50% off storewide sale. These usually fall on holidays. The inventory is sourced from a partnership with veterans charities, and you will find many items that are designer names, and new with tags. Definitely worth checking out!

Understanding that opinions are just that, opinions... I LOVE this place! I've shopped here since they opened and were giving 30% OFF your entire purchase coupons for shopping with them. The service has always been wonderful and I've been able to get my "grown man" on and update my entire wardrobe for less than $300! Plus, my two daughters have purchased so many cute tops and jeans that I would have normally paid thousands for. I love when they have their 50% OFF Everything Sales... my Family and I go every time and rack up. I only go for clothes, but I've seen some furniture that was well worth what they were selling it for. I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Be sure to bring a good amount of money with you... it's worth it!

Lots of clothes, they also have some household and kitchen goods. Price tags are color coded and each week one color is half off and one color is 30% off. The store definitely is in need of a thorough cleaning. My husband and I usually find some good Bargains to bring home when we visit there. The girl who checked us out today at approximately 2 p.m. was pretty rude. Most of the time employees are nice.

I love this place. I find all kinds of deals here. Thursdays is the best day to go. Plenty of parking, great staff, and great prices. I have picked up several cool things here really cheap. If you are in the jackson area this is definitely worth checking out.

Stay away! Bad customer service, predatory business.I bought shoes for my daughter and when we got home and tried them on we realized the sole was loose. We would have noticed in the store but they won't let you try stuff on. The manager would not let us exchange them.Pretty awful business practice for a store that makes money off of donations.

I was in this store on Saturday 9/21/19, I'm a faithful shopper but the way the supervisor Suzanne treated me I will not be returning ever!!! I was shopping looking through the racks which they are stuffed with items it's kinda hard to shop. Items was coming off the hangers, Instead of me letting the items hit the floor, I decide to hang the items over the rack. Supervisor made a announcement and said ATTENTION shoppers do not hang items over the rack or you will be asked to leave. I politely found her and asked her why was it a problem. I was trying to keep item off the floor. Suzanne told me in her exact words " its common courtesy if items fall hang them back like you found them". I said I'm a customer why would I do you all job. She went on to tell me that since I didn't let her finish talking I had to leave the store. I was put out of City Thift because I didn't hang clothes back up on a rack and didn't let her finish her sentence. So basically shoppers is suppose to do their job. She also went on to tell me that it's their policy.

I almost don't go there anymore. Their prices are marked up too high on anything decent. If it's .99 Monday, rest assured they won't have anything that color. The music they play is on a loop. Same beat. Over and over and over...

When this place first open it used to be really good to go into and buy stuff now since this new manager came in all she's worried about is profit margin and how much bonus she'll get back at the end of the year. I have been going there since the day the doors open and since she has came in the prices have gone higher and higher since she took over a couple months ago when somebody donate something to that store they expect it to be sold at a reasonable price I've seen a couch somebody donated probably to help somebody else out thinking it would be sold at a decent price but instead was Market $499 I also seen in entertainment center that was donated probably for the same reason and it was marked for $499. If they wanted to sell it for that much they should have kept it for themselves and sold it but I'm sure when they donated it they thought somebody may be able to buy it for maybe 75 or $100 maybe a hundred fifty but not 500

The clothing selection is better than either goodwills in my opinion and although not as much inventory I feel they have better. They don’t just put trash and broken junk out it’s good stuff. Always leave with more than I intended. Good job guys

I've shopped here since they opened. I can find higher quality items here than I can at Goodwill. The prices here are typically reasonable, but now many item prices are creeping into the ridiculous zone. There's no longer any consistency on pricing. I'm referring to jeans ranging from $13-20 each, and T-shirts hitting $7-10...come on. If I'm going to pay that much for donated second hand items, I'd rather pay a little more and purchase new items. Goodwill became greedy, and it seems City Thrift is on the same course.

City thrift is a good place to get name brand items but they charge different prices for things. Used is used and goodwill is better because they charge the same for all used clothing items and city thrift tries to get too much for some name brand items. To me used is used

The racks are jammed so tight it is hard to search for clothing. I like the layout and shelving and they do have a nice selection. Inspect everything before you purchase, especially anything that plugs into electric, as there are no returns. This store is not charity based, it is a for profit store which buys most it's items for sale in bulk from Disabled Veteran's donations. That being said, some of the items are overpriced for being a thrift store. If you want to help others, donate to your local church or city thrift stores where the profit from donated items reaches those is need.

They are sure good at removing items of sale color on sale days. Several years ago I overheard a manager telling a clerk to get that color off the floor.....prices too steep for a thrift store.

Not a big selection and what they did have was WAY over priced! They have new junk jewelry hanging up for sale and it looks like the owner has a side business selling that mess. The shelves are messy, crowded not organized at all. No one bothered to help us nor were they friendly.

Today a lady name of Cassidy was rude enough to cover her ears after my 2 year old son was about to cry but did even after she continued to glare at him and cover eyes before declining to let me purchase toys for him and his 3 year old brother. “Perfect “ customer service I guess.

Staff, Organization, Prices, Hours and the Finds! those are the main things I liked about this store. I will be attending school again soon and have large arms for a lady, nothing ever fits! Guy jackets do but switching button placement... Ugh! Well, I just scored six appropriate "suit" jackets and several skirts. Proceeds go to Veterans. Seniors get a special discount, etc. I'll drive from Memphis to Jackson for another City Thrift spree

My visit was below average. Employees were not friendly, and they seemed aggravated when someone asked to see some of the jewelry? This incident was obvious my last visit also.

Been here a few times and they never really have anything. Last time I went was 05/03/14 figured I'd give them one more chance and let's just say I was nowhere near surprised. Found a baby monitor that had a tag of $6.97 on it but looking for the model number I saw the original yard sale sticker for $3. I mean yeah a thrift store needs to make their money but seriously? You're going to more than double the sticker price someone else had on there and just leave it? Needless to say I'll never stop back here again. Also had a dirty used vacuum for $16 and some change, luckily I already bought a clean good one from goodwill lol
