Our black lab, Karl, is a calm, loving dog who loves to explore, play and snuggle. His training made for an easy transition and a well behaved boy. Koven training sets owners and dog up for success together as we all learn the same verbal and non-verbal commands. This process makes it easy for the dog to feel secure, quickly adapt to a new home, and become a member of the family. We highly recommend Jean and Steve and couldn’t be happier with our pup!

To say that our Chocolate Lab, Higgins, has been the highlight of 2020 would be the understatement of all time. She is so well behaved and just the perfect companion during these crazy times. Koven is an absolutely great place to get a dog. Jean and Steve are great to work with and they really set us up for success with the day of working with Higgins and the literature they also provided which had answers to anything that came up. Of course the time that Higgins spent at Koven really had her ready to step right into our family. Her demeanor is so sweet and chill. I have to admit that our two neighbors that also got dogs during quarantine are pretty jealous of us..;). I’d recommend Koven to anyone looking for a dog. Thanks Jean and Steve!

We adopted Sarge almost two years ago from Koven. Their puppies are very well behaved and disciplined. I can't believe how obedient he still is and how well-mannered his is with people. He listens to commands now like the day I picked him up,We adopted another Labrador from another breeder in Pennsylvania when Steve and Jean were moving from Wisconsin to Tennessee. It is a night and day difference on the puppies we adopted. Our lab from Pennsylvania was very timid and not socially integrated at all from the trainers.I can't recommend them and their companion dogs enough.

I am so happy with my black lab from Koven! He is so perfect and so well mannered, even random people on the streets tell me how well behaved he is. Especially for a first time solo - dog owner, Koven made the transition to life as a dog mom very easy by giving me, not only a very well trained pup, but packets and packets of information and easy access to ask any additional questions I may have during the whole process. Jean and Steve are very easy to work with and so friendly, you can tell they really care about what they do and the pups they work with!

I would highly recommend Koven to anyone looking for a great dog. I drove up and back from Washington, DC to pick up my black lab, and she has been worth every mile and every penny. What makes Koven great is the incredible attention to detail--you are fully prepared with pages of helpful information on everything from food to toys to hygiene to hand signals/commands before arriving. What makes Koven truly special, in my opinion, is the obvious love they put into caring for their pups. The end result is a healthy, obedient, well-trained lab, who is also very sweet and has a great personality.

We have owned our beautiful lab from Koven for four years now. She came to us from Koven so well trained and sweet. Dealing with Jean and Steve was exceptional, not only because of their knowledge and professionalism but because they genuinely love dogs. And they remain available for questions and it is fun to keep up with the classes that have graduated since. I cannot give them a higher recommendation if you are interested in a well trained beautiful Labrador retriever.

They are so great to work with! Our pup is so well behaved and mild mannered. He trains like a champ (and we’re definitely beginners when it comes to dog training!)
