New manager is just rude shopped in this store every two weeks for 3 years been a vital care member since its inception. Never had a problem until he took over the store he lost his best Groomers Rachel and Chaslyn who told us it would go down hill once he took over and yes it has the store often looks terrible and any interaction with him is a fight. He has a chip on his shoulder and should not be in customer service. Here is some advice Fire this guy and get your groomers who actually did the job correctly back.

My trainer was perfect. She is kind and patient. The problem was the next day when she called to say that our 9 weeks old puppy couldn’t come to class because his vaccinations were incorrect. I was told that he couldn’t come until he has his second round of shots. But according to the website. There was an 8 week old puppy class option, when puppies are not eligible for shots until 8 weeks. The misinformation caused for a difficult experience when I was called to be rearranged. The website needs to be clearer on qualifications. When I was called prior to the class, those qualifications were not mentioned this needs to be changed to accommodate these requirements. Proof of vaccination requirements should be required prior to classes and payments

If I could rate 0 stars for customer service, I would. Just left the store and had the oddest interaction with the cashier. After asking me several times about information (I’m still not sure why she needed) in the most unenthusiastic way possible, she then asked me what kind of dog I had. With nothing following after. Then asked me if I want to purchase a bag for .10? When I asked why, cause I’ve been shopping at this for years and have never heard of this, she very rudely told me it was because they are a California owned business? I almost told her to not worry about the transaction entirely cause it seemed as if we were annoying her, with our transaction. I completely understand changing of policies, or what have you. But this was the worst experience with an employee I have ever received at this store. Most definitely will no longer be returning to this location. If she would’ve had a name tag on, I would’ve gladly left a name as well.

Friendly staff but I am really disappointed in their aquarium section. The tanks are very dirty and they have little to choose from. I went there because the website said they had fish they don't have so grabbed a piece of drift wood with a live aquatic plant. Great fixture and after a few weeks of being in a well maintained aquarium it is thriving and the leaves have healed up and looks great.

Petco has come through for us in a pinch! Web prices are considerably lower than shelf prices, good news, they match their web prices! In fact I was told by an associate they will match any competitor’s price. Just bring in the coupon or digital price. In store associates are very helpful with all our pets needs. Highly recommend!

I brought my dog in for grooming and to have her nails filed down since they were very sharp. When I brought her home, her nails were still sharp. I called the store and they forwarded me to Darius who took care of my dog and he said "yeah we may have forgot to do her nails". I paid for this service and that's the response I get. I also didn't appreciate the way they were handling my 8 month old puppy who is very sweet. The first time I brought her Rachel was there, who no longer works there and she was great. Everything worked out well with Rachel the first time I brought my dog for grooming. My dog was licking her because they bonded and it was a great experience with a happy dog. This time my dog couldn't wait to get out of there. She was scared when we got home and didn't touch her food. She went to the bed and just layed there, seeming depressed. I'm not using petco anymore for grooming. I would recommend not using Darius, my dog did not bond with him at all. Terrible service, it seems like they don't care.

After having a few butchered groomings elsewhere, I decided to try out the groom salon at my local Petco. I was super nervous due to past experiences and from the moment we walked in, both my dog and I were greeted with kindness and adoration for my pup. I originally was put with Seth, but after the receptionist was talking to me and getting to know my dog, he took note that my dog is still nervous around men due to unfortunate events when she was younger. So when I picked her up, I was greeted by the nicest woman, Savannah, and she had let me know that they decided to switch due to my dog having more ease being with a woman. I did not request this at all, but it made my heart so happy that they did it.Savannah, and the whole team, took such good care of my pup and it was a successful appointment. I can’t thank you all enough! We will definitely be back.

I’ve been to this store many times through the years. Since the covid19 pandemic, things just haven’t been the same. Items show a hook and tag on the shelf but for a couple of years now, the turkey tendons are not stocked. I’ve asked and have even showed up when a shipment has come in as directed by staff. I was told Petco was rebranding and they may no longer be carried, yet here we are well over a year later and the vacant spot is still on the shelf. Recently, I went in to buy some feeders for my leopard gecko. The container advertised 12 live dubia roaches with at least half of them being dead. I searched through the containers looking for better options. I found several containers with molded food blocks. I found containers with every insect inside being dead. I asked the associate at checkout if she was willing to discount the cup as $10 for 6-7 insects was a steep fee. She went back to the shelf to help me look for better feeders with no luck. She asked another employee/shift manager and they did not agree to discount. This will be the last time I shop at Petco though. I don’t expect anything for free, I’ll happily pay $10 for twelve live feeders. I would have waited if they had offered to swap cups and add live dubias to my cup from another but they did not seem interested in finding a solution. The young woman tried to be helpful but if that’s Petco’s standard for feeder insects, I truly won’t be back. I’ve also noticed that during shopping hours, carts of stock are left in the aisles left and right. It makes it hard to navigate the store. The Petco 5 years ago was way better than the Petco currently. It’s such a shame too.

Some nice fish including salt water also decent live plants. A ton of supplies for all pets. My hobby is fish and this place is affordable for their limited supply. Overall, WORTH the trip.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The store was set up a bit differently than I am used to, however I just moved here from 11 hours away. Eric the manager on duty was an amazing help and godsend for me and my situation. For management references on the staff who earned this review, I was there 12/08 in the afternoon.12/09 update, staff is very friendly and helpful, Asterin went out of her way a lot. If I could give another 5 star review, I would.

The store was in terrible dissaray. Everywhere we turned there were boxes and stock carts. Stocking the floor during normal business hours made shopping here a hot mess.

A nice and clean store. Pet food prices are a bit higher. The staff is pleasant and helpful. They have the usual small pets such as mice, rats, snakes, guinea pigs, etc. They also have two or three kittens! No puppies but the toy selection for all animals is great!

They were well stocked and had lots to choose from. I would've liked to come home with a couple of cats and iguana that they had, but my hubby said no. Staff was friendly and the place was clean, if a bit smelly.

Made an online order, waited in line. Got the pick up order missing an item (the whole reason i drove up here) waited in line again to be told they didn’t see it on there screen. Waited again to see the manager nice guy just to be told sorry that’s sold out and we have to return your money. I appreciate it but TAKE IT OFFLINE WHEN YOU DONT HAVE IT! I wasted an hour driving plus ridiculous wait time.

I was so extremely pleased with the wonderful service and dedication to do what ever they could to help with my brand new puppy. The groomer was gentle and kind and did an excellent job with my sweet "Avonlea". I would highly recommend them!

I love these guys. I've bought a couple of my pets here, and I get all their food, enclosures, and other necessities, from here. They all know me by name, they are extremely knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful. They have great sale prices and great staff. Hands down my #1 choice

I was just at the Hendersonville,TN Petco. I was upset that they were charging 10 cents for the plastic bags at the checkout. I think this is ridiculous since I was making a purchase bag should have been included.

This was the absolute worst grooming experience for my small dog. When I first arrived, I was told my dog couldn't be serviced by a rude young woman at the front desk. I had an appointment, called ahead, and was assured all was well. Of course, I called the manager and was given someone else. After two hours, I arrive to pick up my pet who is shaved almost bald, extremely anxious, and terrified. When we arrive home, he is licking at his paw incessantly, scooting on the floor, and trembling. I notice red patches appearing on him and what looks like a cut to his paw. I take him to the vet where they confirm that he was indeed cut by the groomer on his paw (which was infected after mere hours), had several small abrasions and wide-spread inflammation. My dog was also very lethargic and overall depressed. He is usually full of energy and happy. He is now a traumatized, trembling mess! He is on antibiotics for the cut, steroids for the inflammation, and has a cone so he will stop licking his infected paw. Petco in Hendersonville is the absolute worst. Please do not bring your pets here. They are unprofessional, inept, and abusive. I have a near two hundred dollar vet bill on their account but even more than that, a sad injured puppy who deserved better.

Just dropped my dog off for a groom at 7am July 25, 23. I sat in the parking lots for 35 minutes before the manager arrived to open the store. The groomer Darius was there and was enjoyable to chat with while we waited (great customer service- if it wasn’t for him we would never come back).The manager arrived and walked straight past us and didn’t acknowledge either the groomer or I. She didn’t apologize for being 35 mins late and disrespectful of our time. She was rude. I understand she was probably flustered and had a bad morning (or lovely sleep in) but everything can be solved with communication to the customer.Not only did she make me feel like I was nothing. She also ignored the groomer who made the effort to keep me as a customer.Darius is awesome.The manager should not being given this kind of responsibility. Demotion needed!

I wish I could give a store rates score and not one with some of the employees.It's like people hide when you look at fish you can never get help and when you go to look it's like people have run off and are hiding noone in sight but a busy person at checkout.And this was not a one time thing I have stoped 3 time around 5 when I get off work so it's not around close.But from what I can see of the fish are healthy and a very nice selection and good price point.

This store satisfies my need for getting dog food in bulk, I have cycled through many brands and tried several recipes over the years and recently switched to Whole Hearted for my dogs. They love it, and it is usually always in stock. Only one time in the past year was I unable to get it here.Overall the store seems clean, and the staff is friendly.

This place is rundown and disgusting. You can never find what you need and no one offers to help. Just a bunch of kids standing around goofing off. Save yourself a trip and go to petsmart.
