Helenwood foods has some great qualities. They have great meat products. They have a good selection of groceries. Here is the bad if you buy anything other than the store brand, it's expensive. Some items are cheaper at a gas station. It's still my first choice for meat no matter what.

The prices are a bit high but the meats are lower.I like the friendlyness and I have asked for products and they try to get them in.I say tear it all down when they build a modern larger store use the old store location for parkingNext to the new grand IGA.Walmart does not help the community like an IGA does.Locally owned and operated!

Helenwood Foods IGA is a small "Mom and Pop" grocery store. It is in an area that services a community that otherwise would have to travel almost 15 minutes to find another grocery store. The prices reflect that "convenience". However, because it is ONLY a small grocery store, if you need to purchase something quickly, you can run in and out without having to deal with the "hike" it takes to just grab milk or bread when going to the Walmart Super Center.I have gladly paid the higher price, just to keep from having to go to the Walmart.Another thing to consider is that if you live in the same area at Helenwood Foods IGA then given the current price of gas (4.80 a gallon for regular) it probably balances out.

Clean and neat store. Nice staff. Although small, this store allows for '1 stop shopping' on most of my trips. Recent changes have expanded selection.

Decent grocery store. The meat is fresh and at reasonable prices. 100x better then Walmart. Store brand products are at good prices and taste the same as name brand. Some name brand is overpriced compared to other national chain grocery stores. Not much selection for hygiene products in store. Friendly staff. Accepts debit/credit, ebt/snap, and wic.

Good meat and produce is ok but all the stuff in the middle is expensive. Sodas aren't sky high. Friendly, helpful, smiling employees. Especially a young lady named Bethany. She deserves a raise. She's the best. Love the mark downs, bogo buggy and free bananas sometimes.
