We had engine problems as we were heading to this campground from out of state. Called 5 days in advance to cancel reservation. But they were not willing to refund ANY of the fees and require a full 2 weeks notice to get any refund. BEWARE of this risk! Now we have to pay for both a hotel AND a completely useless campsite! All other campgrounds we had to cancel provided at least a partial refund!

We enjoyed our stay at Volunteer Family Campground but have two items to note that made it less that ideal. One is within management control, the other isn't. Our site was almost level and we had no issues with the FHU. It's a great layout for a daily walk. Most of the annual sites are well-kept and the residents were all friendly. On the issues mentioned above, the first is that the smoking area appears to be on the porch area right next to the office doors. More than once I had to walk through smoke to get to the door. Other times the area and inside smelled of cigarette smoke. Moving smokers away from the door would be a smart move. The other that future campers should be aware of is that the park is next to a Waste Management location and across the street from a cement company and another company that does something with rock. All three have big, loud trucks that start moving around 5:30 a.m. and go in and out until evening. I understand this isn't in the park's control but if you camp here and want to sleep late, have something to block the noise.

If you enjoy a concrete plant and trucks in and out all day long...or the city trash facility on the same road and trucks leaving out at 6am...literally, I think the only actual quiet time here is around 3am.95% of the park is permanent residents. And it isnt a pretty sight.Zero grass. Too many trees for Starlink to work.Sites tight.Nice people.

Went to the campground to grab a tent sight for the night. Upon walking up I was asked what I was doing there. I explained that I wanted a tent site for the night. The lady tried to tell me that they had none available. I told her that according to the website they had 4. She then tells me that they don't allow "homeless" people there. I explained that I was from Oregon and not homeless. Then she counters with "well you have to have a car to stay here"You tell me what I should think about that..

Stayed here for 6 months while on assignment in a local hospital. Close to everything. Prices are fair and park managers are very accommodating. Kristin is a real sweetheart. This place made me fall in love with the south.Safety: Very safe. Everyone is respectful and keeps an eye out for anyone that “doesn’t belong”.

This is easily the loudest RV park I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at well over 60 parks across the country and I don't recall ever having so much noise on a daily basis as I had at this park. The staff was friendly and helpful on every interaction and the park was relatively clean but it is not what I would consider a vacation park. My estimate is at least half of the park are permanent residents which means there's a lot of stuff around each RV site and people are doing "residential" things on the daily such as using power washers, fixing cars, yelling back and forth at neighbors, etc. In particular there are a few permanent residents that love to fire up ATVs and let them sit and idle before loudly putting off around the park. The pull thru site was level but was not long enough or wide enough to comfortably park my truck next to or in front of my trailer. On site propane service was great and easy. For me, this is not the park to come to if you want to relax but would do if you need a place to stay overnight before moving on.

This place is full of mostly folks that live there. Very small gravelly spaces close together. Loud traffic nearby. Parts of campground roads wash board and washed out.We had 3 on list to pick from coming from South Georgia and picked this one. We won't be back to this one unfortunately. And we're NOT picky campers!Barely enough room for 36' + Tow

Best park we have ever stayed at. The family atmosphere is incredible with a high focus on kids, it’s a safe place for them to get to just be kids. We love the Friday night food truck/outdoor movie night! The long term folks here are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and the staff is fantastic, they take care of any need quickly and are very kind and welcoming! The park is so pretty, with large trees providing plenty of shade and tons of wildlife. If the creek is running take a stroll by it and you will most likely see cardinals and lots of other bird species. Everything is clean and the grounds are well maintained.

Really nice campground overall. The children in the area are a little loud, but it’s a campground so that’s to be expected. Glad there is a safe space for the kids. Has a laundromat, a decent pool and a nice playground. It’s weirdly in the middle of nowhere but everywhere at the same time- Knoxville is only 15ish minutes away and Pigeon Forge is roughly 45. Lady at the front desk seems very nice and welcoming. Our power went out a few times during our stay. This campground is on the more expensive end, and honestly might be worth looking into another campground. They don’t maintain the spots well and the tree limbs hang low enough to scratch a roof.

Love..love..love this family friendly campground. The staff treat you like they have know you forever, they are over the top accommodating. The pool and restrooms are clean, the dog park is very nice it is so sad other guest are nasty and do not clean up after their pets. The campground supplies doggie bags and there is still waste left. My granddaughters softball team and families stay her for a week we were all very pleased. Thank you for your hospitality. Carmen Carpenter

We stayed here for 4 nights in late March as a home base for mountain biking in Knoxville. Our campsite was level with full hook ups. Restrooms were adequate. Easy in and out off the highway. When we were here it was very quiet. Staff was friendly. One thing to note is the office is only open 12-6. This could be an inconvenience depending on how your day rolls.

I've been here since March 5th of this year & from the 1st phone call I had with Kristen, the manager, I knew this was going to be the place I will pull my RV. Kristen is absolutely a sincere, sweet & super super friendly person. She always waves when I pass by and she is outside. Anytime I come inside the office to check for mail & she is working that day, we always have a great conversation and laugh about things we talk about. She has absolute great customer service skills. She is a people person and I always enjoy talking to her. I hope she never quits while I'm staying there. If she ever does, I will not like staying here anymore I believe! Seriously! Whoever hired her, kudos to you, she is a great asset to your campground! She always has the place nice and clean and most importantly a welcoming environment!

This RV park is like nowhere else! We have 4 young kids and the park managers go to great lengths to keep our kids safe and make this a very special family environment and experience. Unlike most RV parks that are sterile with no trees and boring, this park is more like a campground, it is beautiful and people people talk to each other. Very family friendly and has been a great experience for our family. If, however you like boring with no kids or trees, there is the perfect boring looking RV park not too far down the road. They have all the amenities you need, and what they don't, there is a Dollar General around the corner.

Nice place with friendly staff and smooth reservation process, fairly close to town but not very dog friendly (tiny dog park hidden on far end of park and all gravel, no poop bags or much grass around park) and it also has large trucks driving by the very close road most of the day. Lots are also pretty close together and gravel so any vehicle going anywhere near you also makes a fair bit of noise. Good cell service for tmobile and Verizon, close to highway 75

The staff is absolutely amazing. I was having a really hard time finding a place for my husband to stay while he is working on a major construction job. I had called several places and was getting very despondent. The Manager, Kristen, was so down to earth and so helpful. She got him a spot and held it for him until he could get our ,41 ft. Fifth wheel there. The park is well maintained and very quaint. I love staying there.

The people that work here are so, so nice & friendly! They've helped us numerous times when we didn't know what we were doing (first time RVers). They have a small playground which is just perfect enough to let little ones get their wiggles out. They have a laundry area which is great when you stay long term here...it's not super fancy but it does the job. They decorate for the different holidays and make it feel so cute and homey.

The Volunteer Campground was a good jumping point to get to Knoxville metro amenities. Within a 20 minute drive you can find yourself within Knoxville downtown, or on amazing hiking trails. If you’re looking for a campground with a lot to do, it has a swimming pool and hot tub, but there is no where to walk nearby, no trails or biking areas. The park is clean and the staff is friendly. They have a small general store with the basics, but you will definitely need to take a trip into town for groceries. The campground served as a great place for us to park our camper and go into town for adventures. There are a lot of long term/permanent campers. The vast majority of the area is gravel or paved, our dogs are not use to the lack of grass so we had to search for a patch of grass for their potty needs. It’s a pretty packed in campground make sure to park your rig in a way to maximize usable space. We did lose power three separate times over three days, this seemed to be caused by record rainfall and we don’t think this is typical, but worth mentioning. Overall it was a clean, friendly park with nearby amenities.

We made reservations to stay initially for a week and ended up loving volunteer so much we stayed an extra month!!!! Kristen and Kay are wonderful!!! We made so many friends while we were here!! The facilities are clean. The office has a great little shop where you can buy groceries, snacks and miscellaneous RV parts/needs. The staff is so great and do an amazing job at keeping the park safe and clean. We loved the pool and playground for the kids. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. Disregard previous reviews!! You’ll be pleasantly surprised and I’m sure you’ll enjoy volunteer RV park as much as we did!

Nice campground, great staff, reasonable rates. We have stayed here prior years for a few days to a week and it was always an enjoyable experience. However when we went to book for this spring, they are no longer accepting RV’s older than year model 2000. I understand the park has new owners who instituted this restriction. Big disappointment but there are several other nice parks in the area that does accept our motorhome. I do wish them the best.

Friendly staff. Other campers too. However, It is a park where they pack a Lot of campers in very tight. Personally it was too much for us. We won't be going back. But if you want to be around others, it may be for you.

I brought my family here from Michigan. We are getting into camping and are really enjoying the laid back style. Now this particular camp site is everything I dreamed of as a kid and only experienced it once back then. Boy does this place bring back the good memories! First off it’s slightly up in the hills and off the main highway of 75. Easy to find and convenient. The park has a sweet little family feel to it. A great general store, clean laundry mat and clean bathrooms. There are pine trees and forest through out the camp site and it is gorgeous! At night it is very quiet and the cricket's sing you to sleep. The super sites are wonderful. They have full concrete pads to put your TT, RV on with full hookups. While staying here I just simply felt safe and happy. The pool was clean and I didn’t get a chance to swim in it but I would not hesitate if I wanted to get in. Now for the icing on the cake. The staff was and is the most friendly management team I’ve gotten to meet in years. It was nice and refreshing after being locked up from COVID so long to meet wonderful people. They care about their business and it showed. They care about their customers and it showed! I can only imagine that any negative reviews this place ever got was because those people showed up and brought the negativity with them. This place made my family and I very happy. We will return with out a doubt if the same people keep running it.
