Absolutely wonderful. Open all year. James and I were traveling to N.C and needed to rest for the night. Scott and his wife were very accommodating. We stayed overnight in r.v spot in our sprinter van. Electricity and water available.Restrooms and showers were cold in there but not due to the hosts not trying. Just a large room to keep warm.Cozy cabins available to rent.Tent campground was unavailable at the time we were there due to ice at the time. Still plenty of space. As for the recent posts about people living on the property. There are several campers on grounds, however, it was nice and neat and very quiet while we were there. Will stay there again, Loved it!

Stayed there the Monday night after Labor Day crowd had left, so had the place to myself. I'm a car/tent camper and stayed by the river. Hosts were very friendly and made sure I was happy with the site and amenities. Grounds were very clean, impressive at the end of a holiday weekend. There was some truck noise, which was pretty well covered by the sound of the river.

We stayed here in our 28' camper and it was very nice. It's a bit noisy due to I40 at the road level. You have to watch the entrance, it comes up pretty quickly. Then you have a narrow, steep short downhill. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone underpowered. When you exit your on that same steep, narrow hill. You may have to start from a dead stop pulling your trailer. But it's beautiful here, right on the Pigeon River. We saw a bear on the other side and rafting is just down the road. Tent sites are right on the river.

I generally don’t leave reviews but I feel this campground is not accurately represented in other reviews. If you are primitive tent camping then this spot is for YOU. The tent section is on a beautiful river and spaciously laid out, wooded and excellent for that kind of campingRV section is totally different. About half of the sites were permanent campers and not the kind I usually travel to sit and look at on vacation. Also….one in particular had small children staying in pop-up tent that were barefoot and wearing adult clothes the entire time Make no mistake the road noise is significant in this section from I-40. I really wanted to like this place but I will not be back. The bathrooms were clean, grass was well manicured and cabins were really cute from outside.

The hosts were wonderful and really worked with us to help us find the right camping for a large group. Facilities were clean. Tent sites along the river were absolutely magical

Currently at Fox Fire. I would not recommend at all if you want peace and quiet, not only is the Highway loud loud loud all night and all day campers are driving in still at midnight making noise like it’s 1 in the afternoon, headlights on driving around being loud! Where is the staff controlling this place, there is a generator running too! Do not come here! I will never camp here again!! I go camping to get away from the city yet it literally sounds like the city here right now!! What a joke! Only positive is the nice couple in the office.Update**** I don’t normally complain but, our neighbor campers again decided (pic attached) to start their 3 cars yes 3 CARS AND SHINE THEIR HEADLIGHTS into our camp area! I can’t call management because they are closed, I sure hope people read this and steer clear of this place until they fix it! Ridiculous mis-managed campground!

Great campground in Hartford. We tent camp which allows you to stay right along the river. There's also RV spots with hook-ups and some cabins. Also walking distance to Bootleggers Moonshine for some tastings. Near the Interstate so there will be noise from the trucks at night.

Great place for easy access to all the water and mountain activities the area has to offer. There are RV and car camping sites. We stayed in a cabin which was really nice and reasonably priced. The VHS collection was on point. Located right on the river.Nearby activities: White water rafting/boating on the Pigeon. Hiking and trail running near by (short drive)Food & drinks: Coffee shop n restaurant in town. There are food trucks at the outposts during the rafting season

Beautiful campground, but kinda noisy with being right next to the highway, hearing the large semi trucks rolling through all night slightly impacted the stay, but wouldn't rule out my return. Close to zip lining, hiking, the great Smoky mountains and white water rafting in the river.

Clean campground with less than a couple minutes access to the River! Depending on the damn and flow you can walk the river, Wade, or paddle.Literally a mile away from “downtown” Hartford. We rafted with Rafting in the Smokies and loved it especially as we passed the campground on our family float.Restrooms were clean. We chose the “Full Hookup” campsite for our travel trailer. Lots of space to enjoy!

We loved it here. Debbie is an exceptional host and can give you some great tips about area attractions. Our riverside campsite was picture perfect. Clean, quiet, and beautiful. You will see probably a couple hundred rafts going by a day, so just have that as an expectation. The river sites were a bit close together but we were the only campers there so it didn’t bother us. Next time we probably will rent two as a precaution, as I think it would be pretty tight and uncomfortable if we had any neighbors.

It was just by chance that my husband and I ended up here but I am sure thankful we did. We snagged one night at a cabin as we were traveling through and it was by far the best night of our trip! Perhaps it was the simplicity that stood out and made us fall in love. Irregardless, we swam in the cool river and it was a blast. There was plenty of spaces to walk, swim, listen to the river, and even a small field perfect for playing any kind of games with the family. We went to a nearby Walmart and was able to cook our own meal followed by marshmallows by the fire pit. Wood was available for purchase and there were shower houses and dumpsters. I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin, though! It was fully stocked, comfy, cozy, and, most importantly, clean. I am a bit OCD and thoroughly inspect places before staying and this passed all tests minus a little hair at the the shower drain. Otherwise this place is up picturesque and a true hidden gem.

We stayed at a riverside campsite for a few nights while we rafted and zip lined. The owners were so sweet and gave us advice to fill up on gas before the station down the road upped their prices the next morning. They have cheap wood, clean bathrooms, wifi and we even got cell service in the middle of the mountains. Quiet, decently spaced sites and clean campground with a fire ring. Would totally recommend :)

RV/Tents/Cabins Campground very accessible from I-40 in Hartford, TN Near NC State line. Large, clean, comfortable riverside. Go rafting.

The owners have a 10 day cancellation policy for any kind of refund. Wont ever stay there again. I called ahead to cancel and they still kept the full amount I paid for the site. There are plenty of places around that will work with you and have friendlier policies in place for their patrons, in case you need to cancel your reservation. Lots of other choices.

We stayed at the largest cabin on site for a week. Check in was super easy and the people who work the desk are really nice. The cabin was very clean, had excellent air conditioning and great wifi connection. There's no cable but the TV does have access to most of the major streaming services so that wasn't a huge deal. The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, plates, bowls, casserole dishes and most other things you'll need. The guy from the front office offered to help us get our campfire started if we had any trouble which was a nice gesture! Everything was very clean! Will visit again :)

Place is a hidden Gem. My wife and I stayed in site 13 backed up to the river and it was such a joy! This campground is well maintained and cared for. The maintenance fellow worked very hard all morning to make certain the bathrooms were spotless. They have Ice and firewood which made it nice. The shade trees were my favorite as it was the middle of June. Most of all the privacy and quite were most important to us. Not a single soul bothered us, nor did we encounter any neighbors. We stayed in our Saltscapes trailer and Trailhawk Jeep.

FYI Traffic is super loud! Semi trucks gearing up and down all night. So if you're thinking of having a peaceful tranquil night of sleep listening to the sound of the river not gonna happen a this campsite. No respect for others camping. People drinking, partying all night we complained but was quickly brushed off. We did enjoy playing with the kids in the river and yes bathrooms were kept clean. I was told that I would need to rent a second campsite because only one tent (even small tents)was permitted per site but when I got there I saw not two but three tents on one site total rip-off on campsites.

Great staff. Everyone is very nice, and the area is beautiful. Great river nearby for tubing. Even though the cabins and campsites are close together, there's a good sense of privacy. Lots to enjoy, and plenty of luxury to be had here. I would definitely recommend renting a cabin or bringing in an RV. 5 out of 5 for a reason.

Love this place ! Cozy campground with great ownership. Clean, nice people, and full hook ups great for RV. We did not tent camp this time but their tent spots look great, some next to the river! And on the same grounds is Big Creek Expeditions to catch some white water! which was awesome because I didn't need to bring extra clothes we just walked back to our RV.

Great experience other than traffic noise of I-40 when we sat out around our campfire. Our cabin was immaculately clean and comfortable. The only complaint on the cabin was the couch that was a bit saggy and uncomfortable. The very short walk to the riverside was awesome. Such a beautiful area.

Not sure what the previous reviewer did not like about this place. We rented a cabin for a getaway weekend and thats what it was, a getaway. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and well appointed with everything you need. The campground is small and quiet with clean facilities. There is also a whitewater rafting outfit based in the campground which offers guided excursions on the Pigeon River. I highly recommend the excursion The campground is close to I40 so you have some highway noise but it was barely noticeable. This place is our new family favorite and we will be back.

This has become our favorite camping spot. There ARE water/elect sites here, however, the sites by the river are primitive. I don't even care about water and electric anymore. We have to stay by the river. We have caught some awesome fish! They also have white water rafting on site. Out of all of the camping we've done in 4 states, this is our favorite spot! The owners are amazing! I love talking to them. So friendly. Best I've found so far. We'll be back before camping season is over!

The campground hosts were wonderful and we got a tent site right on the river! We were able to camp during the week and there was hardly anyone in the campground which made for a nice, peaceful week. It’s right on the Pigeon river and close to the smokies, so there is lots to do! Additionally, it’s a great price for tent camping with warm showers and bathrooms.

Very nice campground. We camped right on the water and it was very nice. I would recommend requesting a site away from the boat pullout though. When boats were coming out, many non campers who are not familiar with campsite etiquette walked right through our campsite as we were eating lunch. Other than that, very enjoyable and great views!!

This is a beautiful and we'll maintained camp ground. We camped 2 nights on on the river in a tent lot. It was gorgeous and serene. We arrived the week before memorial day, before the holiday rush and we're fortunate to stay before the crowds arrived. Joan and Debbie were professional and helpful. They directed us to Charlie's shuttle service to coordinate transportation for an unbelievable tubing trip from our camp site to Pebble Beach. I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone and will consider visiting again. The price is very reasonable for the location and services.
