**UpdateA year and a half later we still have the most beautiful pup. She’s perfectly healthy and the sweetest dog I’ve ever owned. She was so easy to train and has never tore anything up. The best girl! So thankful for Lisa for letting us bring our sweet baby home.We recently bought a German Shepherd puppy from Lisa at CMK. She is the sweetest puppy and obviously well taken care of. Lisa is very patient and communicates extremely well. Any questions we had, she answered without problems. She has so much knowledge about the breed it made us 100% more comfortable taking her home since she informed us of everything we needed to know. I would recommend this breeder to ANYONE looking for a puppy to take home and love.

UPDATE: After finally being in contact with her she offered half of our deposit back with no explanation of why we would not get the full amount. My husband attempted to compromise at $150 but she then stated that because of my "negative" (but fully factual) review she would not return any of it!! This is completely unprofessional behavior and I am appalled that any business would behave in this manner!! Since she feels entitled to money for a product she did not produce, we will ne pursuing further avenues to get the money back.We were referred by a friend that had gotten their dog here. We had been searching for a German Shepherd and contacted her. She told us if we sent a $200 deposit, we would get first pick of the spring litter. We sent the deposit and she confirmed on November 20 with a photo that she received the deposit. Since then communication has gone downhill. She posted about breeding 2 dogs and their expected due dates. So once the first one passed and wr hadn't heard, we contacted her and she said the pregnancy didn't stick but the next one was on puppy watch. Once that date came and went and still nothing, we contacted her again. That time she got us confused with someone who wanted a morkie but eventually we got it straightened out and she said that one didn't get pregnant either but she was hoping a third one she bred did. At this point I was somewhat concerned and confused on how this happened but I gave the benefit of the doubt. Until she told us that she wasn't yet sure about the third dog being pregnant as she can't tell until about 4 weeks before the due date. That sounded extremely odd to me. At that time we found a puppy somewhere else and I told my husband just to request our deposit back. He did so and she had since stopped responding to all communication. DONT SEND A DEPOSIT YOU WILL LOSE IT!!!! We are extremely disappointed as all we wanted was a pet as we had to put a dog down in August and our kiddos were missing their puppy.

WARNING!......BEWARE! We gave this lady a $200 deposit last summer for a specific color Morkie that she promised us would be available no later than Spring of 2022. As soon as she received our deposit last summer she sent us a photo of the check by text showing it was received. Fast forward to a few days ago April 29, 2022 and we have not heard one word from her since her photo of our check that she texted us last summer. Not one word from her! So, out of concern I decided about 3 weeks ago to view her Cumberland Mountain Kennels page to see if there were any Morkies that had been born. To our surprise she had posted that the price of the Morkies have increased. But, she doesn’t say how much. I also noticed some very bad negative reviews that previously had not been there. The individuals posting these reviews were saying the exact same thing as us. She took their deposit money and they never received a puppy. At that point we grew very concerned since we had not heard from her since last summer. However, we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt still. Fast forward about 3 weeks to April 29, 2022 and we decided to send her a text to inquire when our puppy would be available and to our dismay she had us blocked. Our 2 texts would not go through at all. We also tried to call her and she will not answer and her voicemail says it is full.I posted a very reasonable non accusatory comment on one of her posts asking her to please reach out to us about our Morkie because we could not reach her at the same number as before. Now, it appears that she has erased that comment and we still have not heard one word from her. We need our deposit money back. So, unfortunately, this will now be resolved with our attorney through the court where this lady will also be responsible for all attorney fees. This lady has no conscience or morals or ethics. She is a SCAMMER! BEWARE!

Update: As of 5/23/22, she has not refunded my deposit. She is now saying DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, which she does not tell you in advance. I followed Cumberland Mountain Kennel on Facebook and decided to reserve a Shorkie or Morkie. I sent the $200 required deposit in August 2021 and she confirmed that she received it. I didn't hear anything from her again, but around January 7th I saw that she posted that she was expecting shorkie puppies on January 21st so I called her and told her I would like one. I messaged her on January 21st to see how it was going and she said she'd made a mistake and the dog wasn't pregnant, she was just getting fat. After some consideration, I decided that a breeder who couldn't distinguish a pregnant dog from a fat dog wasn't the quality of breeder I wanted . I also noticed she still had a post on Facebook about the false litter so I commented that it was not true. She responded that I was being unreasonable. I have been asking for a refund of my deposit for 2 months but she is no longer responding.

If you are looking for a better that puts the well being of every dog she breeds and the pups come to Cumberland Mountain Kennels. Lisa at Cumberland Mountain Kennel brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field. But most of all she loves what she does and it shows. Her Morkies and German Shepards are top quality. Her attentivenss to the dog's and pups are impeccable. She takes the time to educate you about your new member of the family so that you can maintain the quality of life She has started them out with. I know several people who have gotten pups from Cumberland Mountain Kennels and they are overjoyed. First hand..My mom has one of her Morkies and she is adorable. We plan to add another Morkie to our family for my daughter very soon and I would not go anywhere else to get one. So if you want quality, professionalism and an expert in the field I highly recommend going to Cumberland Mountain Kennels for a German Shepard and Morkie to add to your family.

Lisa is pleasure to work with. She takes the time to answer every question you have. She loves raising puppies and putting them in good homes. We highly recommend Lisa to anyone wanting a puppy she has. We were on a waiting list since March for a Morkie. We visited Lisa in Aug. and met many of her dogs. A great experience to see them running around and playing. Received a text saying one was available in Oct. Picked her up Oct. 29. Our puppy is truly a pleasure. We can't Thank Lisa enough for how she handles everything. You won't be disappointed.

I purchased a German Shepherd puppy just haven’t gotten it yet but it will be a few more weeks, I would like to recommend Lisa to all my friends and family. My first time meeting her she was extremely nice and very knowledgeable, definitely helped answer all my questions. She seems to love what she does and I’m glad she cares so much about her animals.

Lisa, my husband just looked at the Google review and he could not help but notice your comment as well. We are both appalled that you would say what you said in your comment. That review by us and others happened because of YOUR "bad" behavior of taking people's money and then ignoring them when they reached out to contact you as we did. "Bad" reviews happen when there is "bad" behavior and unethical conduct by the seller. You did finally after a very good while stop ignoring us and finally reached out to us. But, this Google review was placed when you were ignoring us. As I stated before several times, we are willing to work with you and we do know that things can happen in one's personal life that are unforeseen and creates a financial hardship. But, you cannot legally keep a person's money and not give them the product or service they paid a payment towards which in this case is a puppy. People are not making donations when they give you a deposit. That person is acting in good faith when they give you that deposit and they are expecting you to also act in good faith and come through with your end of the deal. But, to now say as you did in your comment that you don't know if you want any of your puppies to go to us now is very wrong and immoral and unethical of you. This all could have been avoided and there would be no "bad" reviews at all by us or anyone had you only kept the lines of communication open which at the time you did not. You chose the "bad" behavior of avoidance and that is very unprofessional. You need to take accountability for that. We thought that we had things worked out now between both parties from our last communication a month or so ago with you which is why I felt at ease to reach out to you tonight. My husband also assumed that you had already read the Google review a month or so ago when I was corresponding with you. But, Lisa your behavior is the one that has been "bad" here and not Christlike. I, also if you remember when we were corresponding about a month ago mentioned to you several times that once we couldn't reach you and then read the negative reviews of others we then grew very concerned. This should be no surprise to you to see our review and that is when we left our negative review which was before you had finally stopped ignoring us. We are very disappointed to read your comment because it is unjust and very deceptive and now makes us further wonder if we could even trust you to give us a healthy puppy. 😥 My husband and I were willing to give you the benefit of the doubt one more time Lisa while you still have some of OUR hard earned money in your possession and delete our Google review. But, after reading your unjust and deceptive comment, we cannot in good conscience delete our Google review until we receive a healthy Morkie puppy from you or our $200 refunded back and considering the situation that is only fair and just and right. I did enjoy speaking with you and discussing our shared political views and other shared beliefs. But, you have to remember that this is a business transaction and money has already been exchanged and emotions or feelings should be irrelevant. Professionalism is a must!Kristy Georgal

Seems to be a common theme, but my dad and I were both taken for $200 each. We put our deposits down in the fall to reserve a puppy out of the two litters that were due in the spring. The communication was lack luster to say the least, but we finally got word that the dogs didn’t produce. Because the dogs did not produce in the time that we needed, we asked for our money back. She told us a long story about how she couldn’t pay us back because the money had been spent for various reasons and said refunding money wasn’t “standard breeder protocol”. Clearly not sound business practices going on.
