Dam Whiskey is not only a dam good experience but it's a dam good time as well! We found the distillery a few months ago online and finally had the opportunity to stop by and check it out! It is not only unique but the history is incredible! It is also one of the few distilleries where you can look at beautiful scenery, smoke a cigar, and drink whiskey all in the same location! We will definitely be back and tell everyone we know about this amazing historical location!

What a fantastic experience!I learned about the Dam Whiskey Corp. in late December when my son was home from the Navy on leave and we were looking for local distilleries to visit. (We are both big fans of craft whiskeys.) Unfortunately, Dam Whiskey Corp. was closed at the time. (We went to the Cascade Hollow Distillery in Tullahoma instead.)Late last week I saw an update on Facebook that they were open again and conducting tours. So, my Navy buddy Jerry Snow and I headed down there today, and we are so glad we did.First off, the facility is located around and within the historic Hales Bar Dam powerhouse. (Look up the very interesting history of this facility.) I don't think one could pick a more interesting location for a distillery.The shop & bar is a very cool place with lots of great swag for purchase, as well as the offerings of the distillery. The staff is super friendly and helpful.Jerry and I signed up for the distiller tour and tasting (very reasonable prices) and were not disappointed. Our tour guide Ethan was very knowledgeable and loads of fun. The Dam Whiskey Corp. also offers a history tour of the facility which is said to be among the top five haunted locations in America. I am planning to take that tour the next time I visit, hopefully with my wife and son.The visit was topped off with a tasting at their brand-new bar. Not only is the Dam Whiskey Corp. a funky, cool place to visit, but they make some great whiskey and vodka. (I highly recommend their 101.) They also have some flavored moonshines, which I am not normally a fan of, but their blackberry moonshine is a must. Soooo good.I will also add that I am not normally a fan of vodka, but theirs is so good that I bought a bottle to take home. It is very sipable.If you're ever in the Chattanooga area, I HIGHLY recommend you make plans to visit the Dam Whiskey Corp. It is definitely worth the trip.

So we finally got to try this distillery while in the area. First I must say it is a cool older building with lots of history but I must review this fairly. The price of the tour for the entire building is $32 and does not include a tasteing. This was really a little overpriced in our opinion. Our guide was knowledgeable of history on the dam. But overall it is a very hazardous building and I feel could lead to a mishap in the future if some sort of cautionary measures are not implemented. Overall cool building with lots of history. Next the tasting. $5 was the cost. And you barely received enough to taste. Overall the alcohol was decent ,vodka being some of the smoothest I’ve ever had . The straight barrel 101 I believe it was called was also decent. Out side of that the rest was just ehhh. On a side note they have some aging for the future that will be interesting to taste. So to sum it up cool place with history and ok tasting. For the price I would forgo the tour and spend the $5.

This place is so cool! If you're looking for something a little off the beaten path, historic, paranormal, or if you like whiskey - or all of the above - this place is for you! The history of the Hales Bar Dam is fascinating, and it's really cool what they've done/are doing with this place. The staff were so nice, and we had such a great time! They were very dog friendly, which was great for us. Everything we tasted was amazing, and we can't wait to come back!

Everyone was so nice here. They accommodated me with mock tails cause I don’t drink very often, and they were so delicious! Browsed the alcoholic selections and they had a lot of really tasty looking options like blackberry moonshine and drinks named after the river and things that have to do with it. ❤️🌅 They had a really nice gift shop too with awesome food and clothing gifts. 🙂 Definitely a must visit attraction for Tennessee natives. 🧡

It was definitely a dam good time! It is a small distillery tour in the famous Hale's Bar Dam, the spirits are very smooth, we only tasted the Bourbon and Vodka, but they also have a moonshine which I'm sure is just as good! The owner who was also our tour guide is very down to earth and knowledgeable of her product, which she actually makes herself. The lady in the gift shop was very nice today also. We purchased the Vodka and Bourbon, along with a couple of t-shirts and a bottle opener. Oh and can't forget the neighborhood dog and puppy were a definite bonus for the kids. Seriously give them a visit!

Newer distillery in a really cool old location, with lots of potential. Cool story behind the location and some great people working it. We really enjoyed the tour as did our teenagers.

Our experience was fantastic! The staff was kind enough to open up and take us on a private tour of the distillery! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the building and the land and was able to tell us where some of the spirits are most likely to be found. The spirits even lit a few candles for us on our tour! The tasting was fantastic, especially the blackberry moonshine. I definitely recommend this place for a fun tour with some great haunted stories, lots of puns, and some great liquor! Thank you to the owners for an amazing experience!

Went on a tour today and tried their vodka after the tour. And when I tell you it went down like pure sprite, it was by far the smoothest vodka I’ve ever had. Better than Tito’s, Ciroc, kettle one, or even Belvedere. A hidden gem. Go try it and the owner and everyone else there were absolutely as polite and caring as it comes

I found this distillery when I searched for distilleries near Chattanooga because we had a group of friends making a trip for the weekend. I saw that it was in an old dam and knew we had to visit. Unfortunately it was “closed for the season” but we emailed and they were able to open up for us. The owner gave us an hour tour with plenty of information about not only how they make their liquors but the history of the dam and the land it sits on. We saw every room allowed, even at one point our path was lit up by the spirits still in the building. As if that wasn’t enough reason to come, the vodka alone will make this your go to for vodka. It was the smoothest vodka I have ever had! Their blackberry moonshine was our favorite and can’t wait to come back soon with more people. Hopefully they have the strawberry moonshine by then! I can’t thank them enough for opening up and giving our group a great time!

Had a great time, really cool the dog was able to come along. Really interesting history within the dam itself. A really unique experience, the whiskey and vodka were really good to also at the end. I would highly recommend checking it out

Such a cool tour! Ethan was a great your guide! A good mix of history, spook as well as the distillery! Definitely do the taste test at the end. The bourbon is good and the vodka is smooth.

This was a fun tour of a small batch distillery. Not at all pretentious like the Bourbon Trail tours. A very unique location, which is worth a tour all by itself.
