On both visits, I was refused service which left my children and me feeling upset and disheartened.During my first visit, my children and I were denied the purchase of feeder goldfish due to what the associate deemed as inadequate care for our existing fish. Despite explaining our feeding schedule and intentions to keep the fish alive in a tank, we were accused of endangering the fish's life and denied the sale of a feeder! goldfish. This incident left my child feeling guilty and fearful for their current pet's well-being.The second visit was equally disappointing. We intended to purchase ghost and cherry shrimp to live alongside our betta and African dwarf frog. However, we were once again refused sale under the false pretense that shrimp cannot coexist in the same tank. Despite providing evidence of compatibility and our past success with these animals cohabitating, we were denied the purchase. Saying that they can refuse the sale if they feel we intend to harm the animal.To further compound my frustration and aid in my investigation, a visit to another Petco location in the area revealed that the exact same animals were peacefully cohabitating in a tank. When I brought this to the attention of the employee, they were surprised by the way I was treated at the Franklin location.This raises the question of whether the associates are enforcing arbitrary policies or selectively choosing whom to sell to. The lack of consistency and misinformation provided by the Franklin location is unacceptable and has driven me to take my business elsewhere

Luna is loving her new habitat, I would like to give a huge thank you to both Rachel and Tang who both worked so hard to help my family to purchase Luna. There knowledge and guidance in what Luna would need was astounding. Rachel and Tang both did such a great job at helping us with what was unfortunately a two day process because of the lack of customer care from my bank ( lawernceburg Federal) but these two lady's went above and beyond to ensure that we had what we needed and that Luna went to a comfortable new home. My family and I Luna included would like to send our sincerest thanks to the awsome team at Petco in Franklin TN.

Awful experience here. Do not go here for grooming.I showed up for my appointment this morning, when it was pouring rain and very cold (I had seen severe weather alerts sent out), and was not able to get into the store.There was no signage I could see about what to do. Finally I called the store and got connected with the grooming salonThe groomer, I believe it was Kassy, told me she would be there in "just a sec". After waiting for almost 5 minutes, I gave up and went back to my car.(Since my dog and I had been standing outside in the cold, pouring rain, and it was way too cold/exposed to be standing out there for a long time.)Hopefully the store learns from its mistakes. Please don't leave customers there for an appointment out in the cold rain.-Claire E

I waited 1/2 hour to get help in the aquatic section, it was quiet when I got there and waited until someone saw me, then a couple families came in, those two families received help before me and I kind of blame them somewhat, but when a sales person arrives I think they should ask who was here first, the family should of spoke up BUT the second family showed up after that and the employee had seen me standing there for a while and proceeded to help them, after she was done she told me she needed to get pricing to the register and she'd be back, that didn't happen. I had to walk up there and ask for help, no apology, just sent someone else back with me. I ended up spending an hour and half to get 5 fish, dog treats and aquarium supplies. Ridiculous! I no longer buy my dog food from you because it's never in stock anymore. I will be taking my business to PetSmart and an aquarium specialty store.

I took my golden doodle here 2 years ago. At the time, I had used the petco in Bellevue, in which I received wonderful service. When I came to pick him up, they immediately gave me the bill to pay up front without even seeing my dog. After I paid, i went to the groomer to pick him up. They had literally cut his fur to the skin and he was trembling - it altered his personality for months. Before, he loved car rides and was always happy. After, he would just stay under the bed and would hardly come out. Months later he finally returned to his normal self but he still hates the car after that experience. I think they must’ve abused him. Anyways, it could have been the individual grooming him but it has forever tainted my view of petco.

I use Petco for my sphynx cat Luna's food. I usually do an online order since I have 6 boys. I love that I can drive right up and call and they bring it right out. They are always very polite.

The staff acted very irritated at the fact that it was 7:02 and I was still checking out when they close at 7. Businesses should expect to not close right on time if customer traffic patterns justify that expectation. They could have smiled and been friendly, instead that acted worried and anxious and made me feel weird. LolAll good though, I like this place.

Kassy at the Franklin store is awesome. She treats Jax so well that he loves going and seeing her! He smells and looks great when I pick him up and I know he is never mistreated.

I found my best friend today thanks to petco and the fix foundation. So happy to have a new addition to the family. He was already fixed with shots and a microchip. I am so happy to give him his forever home.

We have started a yearly tradition with our pet kids, of taking them shopping at this store for Christmas. They have a blast smelling all the new things, visiting the customers, and picking out their new toys. We also buy them Christmas treats and this year they got new t-shirts and new collars. It was fun for all. 😍😊

The staff is super kind - and if it wasn’t for the prices of this store this would be a 5 star. I agree with the other reviews this is very over priced and they even charge for bags now which is something I’ve only heard from in California. This is TN so it’s confusing to see that extra charge here

I was buying a life vest for our toy poodle for a kayaking trip the next day, the lady who checked me out up front asked ‘who is your ‘baby’ that you are getting this for?’ It was the sweetest question and of course it made my day to be able to share a little bit about Bear going kayaking. She wished us a good trip (my son and I) and I thought..Petco hires people who really care about animals..or at least she really did!

Update! Site refuses to publish my review!They shaved my dog all over after I explicitly stated LEAVE HIS HAIR!! Right before Christmas, makes this the most unbelievable thing I have ever had to deal with! They claim he was matted too bad, but he was not! You could run your fingers right through his hair. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!!!!! I should have known something was off when they had so many open spots and my normal petco was fully booked this close to Christmas. See before and after pics. All pics are less than a week old. It also took them 5 hours to RUIN my dog. Unbelievably unacceptable.

Went in and saw they had a sale on a crested but nothing displayed price I asked the associate they looked at each other and one said what do you want to know I asked to clarify what one was on sale and how much she confirmed the one I thought and gave a odd explanation of the care kind of in a way that was like it requires so much are you sure? She never said a price and said is that all I asked again for the price and went to tell my husband she proceeded to help us while making it seam as though she didn't want us to take the animal. I confirmed for her the size of my enclosure that it was bio active and after a few more minutes I asked why she didn't buy it. It was not a good trip but we love our nub tailed girl she is thriving in her new home. I appreciate her explaining the care needed for the animals however the way she explained it was not enjoyable.

I cannot vouch for all Petco, but Sarah D at the Franklin Petco was fantastic for our 2 dogs! We were in a pinch and underestimated wait times for dog groomers, so we got a quick appointment with Petco for our doodle and lab mix. Both dogs were well cared for and groomed beautifully. Sarah took the time to ask specifically how long we wanted each body part, even showing us a sample fur length chart! We’ve had doodles for almost 20 years groomed every 6-10weeks and even with trusted groomers have definitely had some bad haircuts. This was a really good cut and we will be back for our doodle’s trim next month as well.

We have used petco twice now for grooming and have received good service for our two older dogs. Our second visit, we were able to guide the groomer on things that we wanted to adjust from the initial visit (length, etc) - Brooklyn was really helpful, listened and did a great job grooming our westies.

I took my dog for a grooming appointment and teeth cleaning in October. After a 4 hour wait, they didn’t even cut the dogs hair. I was charged $60 for the “services” rendered. I was frustrated, but decided to pay it and not come back. I received a survey later that week, and two weeks after completing it the manager, Jessica R., reached out offering me a full refund. I went in the store about a month after receiving that email (I don’t live in the area and mentioned that to Jessica in the email), she refused to give me a refund. She was argumentative and rude. I reminded her over and over again that I did not ask for a refund or complain, she offered it to me. I showed her the email she had written. She refused to issue the refund. It was the worst customer service I have ever received and I will NEVER return to this store or any petco every again. I highly recommend everyone avoid this store and their incompetent management.I would like to say that I had a very pleasant experience with my cashier and the assistant manager before Jessica got involved.

I booked an appointment for my dog for an 11 AM appointment and was told it should take a few hours after not hearing from them for about three hours. I went up to the store to only be told She isn’t ready. I was told she should be ready by 5:15 which means my dog would have been there all day they close at 8 there is no reason why my dog should have been at the groomer all day for a simple bath and haircut, I don’t know if they’re understaffed or overbooked, but they clearly need to adjust their scheduling for that reason I don’t live out this way and had to drive because the Petco near my house water heater had broken. I definitely will not be back at this location. hopefully the water heater at my local Petco will be fixed soon because the girls there are amazing and have her in and out in under two hours. Not to mention the girls in the grooming department are rude and were being very smart when I was asking about my pet. Poor poor customer service in the grooming department here.

They routinely take at least four hours for grooming my small dog. One groomer even complained to me that my dog wasn’t cooperative enough. The last time I went, it took over 5 1/2 hours before they even BEGAN. Then they didn’t complete the haircut properly. It takes far too long, costs way too much, and they are not particularly friendly. I will take my business elsewhere.

I made a grooming appointment online. I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and the girl tells me they canceled my appointment. She said they called me and left a voicemail. I pulled my phone out to make sure I didn’t miss it. I had no missed calls or voicemails. I told the lady online it said they have 6 appointments available. She was very rude and said it was a mistake.The lady did not apologize or even offer to make me another appointment. I will happily take my dog and tip somewhere else!

Walked in not knowing if closed or not around 8 ish at night seeing multiple people in their checking out their items I ask one women if and where their beta fish are and she said that is her last customer and we could look at them for like 5 min then they have to close up and I agreed saying that I wasn’t planning on buying anything just to look real quick I get to the front and another women petco worker approaches me asking what I needed because they are closed and I said the other worker said I could look at them real quick for 5 min but she said that I need to get out now. I didn’t have a problem getting out I wasn’t trying to buy anything just see something real quick with the doors open just kinda dissapointed with the way it was handled and the attitude of one of the works because I have been to other pet is and never had an issue anywhere else.

Buying a Betta and the cashier gave me the third degree. Asked me if I had a tank. I said yes and that I had no other me Bettas in it, a 46 gallon tank. He then tells me that I can't have any other fish in the tank, which is not correct. I've had Bettas before with no problems. My tank only has an angle fish and some tetras. He then tries to argue with me and acted like he wasn't going to sell me the Betta. I told him the fish would be fine and he finally, obviously reluctantly, rang up the $3.99 fish.I don't need the know it all cashier trying to educate me on fish. I know what fish go with each other. If I didn't, then I would ask.They also don't have anyone to help you with the fish. You have to go on a hunt to find anyone to help. They would at lease ask you if you need help.

The terrible reviews are true. I had an appointment scheduled for my dog today at 11:15am. I called them at 4pm due to not hearing anything. Turns out he had just been sitting in a cage FOR 5 HOURS!! THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED ON HIM YET. They had their excuses, but none of it was communicated to me beforehand which is so disrespectful of my time. Not professional at all.

My dog was there for 6 1/2-7hrs and they only got the bath done. She was suppose to have a hair cut, bath, nails, Teeth and etc.. they over booked so much that when I called no one answered so I went 40min after their estimated pickup time, she wasn't even close to be being finished. Just had to demand I get my dog cause I couldn't wait another hour. So awful for my dog to get left for the long.Never had this problem before and choose Franklin because they said they had openings. This was the worse experience I've ever had even though the groomers themselves were nice. Not cool over booking like this!

Will NOT be going back here ever again! We drove 35mins one way to get our dogs groomed. Little did I know that this place is the absolute WORST. I paid for the pads of my dogs paws to be trimmed as well as the tops of their paws. It was dark when we left. Got home, and noticed they weren’t trimmed. When I called I was told “they didn’t have time” FIVE AND A HALF HOURS and they didn’t have time?? When I confronted them they said I could come back in. I’m not driving back 35mins to get something done that should have been done in the first place. My dogs are still wet and we’re not dried all the way. The grooming salon workers seemed super frazzled and over worked. I won’t be putting my dogs health in their hands ever again! FIND SOME PLACE ELSE!!!
