I stayed here this year with my friends for our "zero day" during my section hike from Hot Springs to Hugh's Gap. I can not say enough how fabulous this hostel is! Taft, who built it, thought of everything, up to making sure each little cabin has a view of the creek. Amy, his sister that runs it, is a true gem of a person. She keeps the place immaculately clean, well decorated, and is always available for anything a hiker staying there would need.Coming to this place was like coming home. The beds are comfortable, the bedding is nice, and the decor is something I would have in my home. It was all very welcoming. I highly recommend this place for A.T. hikers and also those who just want a retreat away.A special thanks to Amy for all she did to make our stay a highlight in our section hike this year. All your work in the background made for an amazing stay for us from the shuttle service, the Stoney Knob Restaurant recommendation, and on to include the hours of conversation you took time to have with us. We truly had an awesome stay!Rooms: The cabin we stayed in faced the rushing creek and had a private screened in porch with chairs and a hammock. They also have their own grill and picnic table out back of each unit. The inside was small but had a custom, solid, built-in bunk bed with a twin on top and a queen on the bottom, a small table, and hooks for coats and packs. These rooms are for relaxing and resting, so there is not a lot of space, but the common area, separate from the cabin, has plenty of room for hanging out, watching television, playing games and eating food. There is also an enormous amount of lawn space for outdoor activities.

One of the nicest, cleanest, and friendliest hostels along the Appalachian Trail. Staff are super helpful and kind. Large resupply options for both short and long term. Private cabins available as well as a bunk house. Very reasonably priced. Large and very clean bathhouse. Laundry available on site. If your in the Sam's Gap area be sure and stop in for a night. You won't regret it.

Nature's Inn is a beautiful facility with bunk houses, small cabins, tent/hammock lodge, and a larger cabin, all at affordable tastes rates. Amy and Taft are excellent hosts, and the park is awesome. We took a crew of boy scouts on an AT trek, planning to stay at Nature's Inn on our last day. When bad weather cut our trek short, Amy was able to accommodate our group of 15 a day early. They were such gracious hosts, and so helpful, that I can't recommend the hostel enough! We will definitely be back next year to pickup where we left off. Thank you, Nature's Inn!

The A.T. offers great places to find yourself. Each hostel has a plus and minus. Stay at them all each one day and not hotels to get the full experience.Who knows if you'll get a second long hike. The mountains are calling and soon I must go. A.T. kickoff coming soon.

My girlfriend and I got drenched, full of blisters, and were ready to take some time off the trail. Sarah and Taft took such good care of us at this hostel. It is quaint, cozy, and a great place to relax and unwind. They made us feel so comfortable and took us back and forth to the trail. They made us feel right at home and were easy to get in touch with anytime we needed anything. This place is a gem in the woods and I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for making Kathy and I feel at home and for making our stay fantastic. We love Sarah and Taft!

Great place foe hikers of the Appalachian Trail. Excellent shuttle service. The facilities has been well maintained and clean.Try the barbecue sandwiches. They have an assortment of food choices and reasonably priced resupply items.Remained linger than planned because of weather, but find this the right place for a zero.

A few miles off Trail (for thru hikers) but (free?) shuttles to and from. Most peaceful and beautiful places that aren't on a scenic bald. Good enough for me to keep coming back several years in a row (thru hiking or not). I love Sarah and Taft ant their home!

Taft and Sarah couldn't have been nicer! Great place to stay with everything an AT hiker needs. Resupply, cleanest showers on the AT, nice cabins by a babbling brook, shuttles, hospitality, and overall good vibes.

We stayed 4/21/19 in a cabin on the hill. It was a cool crisp evening, the cabin was warm and cozy. This morning it was beautiful with the birds singing and a rooster down the holler crowing good morning. We then got to see the rest of the place, it was awesome. They have several accommodations to rent, a house, bunk houses or cabin, you can even sleep in a hammock or camp. They have a common room and a shower house and picnic tables and a camp store. If you are on the road less traveled (old Ashville hwy 23) or just need a place off I-26 give them a call, you should plan ahead. Word of mouth has gotton around and they book up quickly now. We got lucky and we are glad we did.
