I took a nice easy hike next to the water, and it was super refreshing and worth the stop. Trails were all maintained depending on how deep you go into the woods. Overall, it was worth the visit and would go again.

What a hidden gem! The river is definitely a place for cooling off with a dip, a picnic, or meditation. So peaceful and beautiful. Their trails are great-steep in some areas, with amazing views, and rock climbing cliffs are really fun. Just be careful as there is loose rock, plant matter, and not a place for topping out.

Follow the road signs!! Depend on GPS/ directions only as far as the interstate and you'll easily reach your destination to a wonderful state park! As you head to the main parking area, you can stop off at intermediate parking areas to fish or swim in the creek that follows the road up. Was met by very friendly and knowledgeable park rangers who told us about the battlefield area along a certain trail. While the battlefield itself was a bit underwhelming (it's just an overgrown field that is only partially accessible/ exolorable) the rest of trail is magnificent and peaceful. It was so enjoyable, we came back a second time during our trip to the area and will come back again to trek new unhiked trails! So much to explore and enjoyed here.

My husband and I thought this was one of the most beautiful trails we have been on, it zigzags through the woods over the creek with tiny waterfalls along the way. Easy to moderate hike

We did what’s apparently the “old trail” of WhiteHouse Cliffs on the way up (did some research after our hike). It had recently stormed and there were trees down so we had to bushwhack. Once we got to the top after the steep part we figured out we were on the creek trail NOT the new, beautiful, well maintained trail… lol. It was an adventure and definitely worth it. Note to self… next time start at the parking lot trail head. Yes, we did make our way back down the mountain on the *right* trail. This new trail opened in 2020- very nice! Our goldendoodle loved the adventure too!! Bring water!!!!! ** the trail was incorrect on the Hiking Project app

An absolutely amazing park to hike through! We camped at the Headwaters campsite over night and it was really cool! The water was beautiful and the trails were awesome! Whitehouse Cliff Trail is the most rewarding trail I’ve ever climbed and I absolutely mean climbed! It is one mile of nothing short of amazing! When you make it to the top it will completely take your breath away!

Please don't swim. My sweet cousin drowned here. He was 22, local. With his church group, a members hat blew in. He jumped in to get it. The Undertow took him. We are avid swimmers. Native American Cuban. His brother my other cousin had the Navy Seals remove him. You can't prejudge, an undertow. It's a scared fall for me now, my ashes will rest here. He wasn't the first death. This is a beautiful part of nature. Enjoy the view, and hike. Swim in the creeks, and lakes. 🕊️❤️

Awesome park! Tons of trails. Some great swimming and fishing spots. If you want to swim in the "Blue Hole" you'll see it on the right side of the road about 1/2 mile before you get to the entrance of the park as you are driving north. There is a wooden sign there on the right side of the road. The pics I'm posting with this review were from another little spot in the river about 1/2 mile into the park from the start of the main trail.

Rocky Fork is such a wonderful place for exploring for everyone in the family you could do a half mile or you can make it 20 for the super adventurous folks. So many different plants and animals. But remember pack in ONLY what you're gonna pack out. We all want it to stay beautiful!

One of the best local parks. So many little watering holes to cool off in during summer. It’s off the beaten path so it isn’t ever too busy like the spots near AVL.

Beautiful wooded park with water features and mountain views (for those who earn them). There is a stunning overlook about a mile up the Birthfirld Camp trail. There is limited parking.Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly, but leash required.Picnic area: There are one or two uncovered picnic tables near the parking area. I did not see and other picnic equipment.

Easy walk down low, nice just to get outside & enjoy nature. Two ways to go , low or up high. I think someone's said you could hike up to 8 miles.
