They were having a meeting & 1st politely told us they were closed but then offered us the time to get what we (very much) needed. Appreciate that very much...(love my favorite plant lady there as well) Thanks for being great 👍👍

I went to Marvin's thinking that I would be saving time because I had other obligations to attend to, was I ever so wrong I was needing a scratch awl and wire brushes for my job so I asked one of the employees if he could show me where the items were and he flat out just looked at me and said they don't carry the items that I asked for and I said are you sure and he said in an agitated tone I know we don't so I said OK I think I will look around so guess what I found both items 40 minutes later so I went back to the guy and showed him and what he did next floored me. He shrugged his shoulder like he could care less and he didn't even apologize. The young lady at the check out knew exactly who I was talking about apparently he does this quiet often anyways when I come in to your store to spend my hard earned money I don't expect to be put off. My time is just as important as yours I do expect to be treated as tho I was spending my whole check there anyways lesson learned I will go to Walmart next time because Walmart employees know how to treat and help their customers!

Kind of 3.5 stars really. The store itself is nice. It's always been clean, I don't have trouble finding what I need, the products are good. The prices vary as to whether it's more or less than competitors - some stuff I've gotten a much better deal on and some stuff I've chosen not to buy because it was overpriced. The lumber is a good selection with better quality than I've been finding at the bigger stores and the same goes for when they have things like trees in stock. The customer service is really hit or miss though - sometimes you get someone friendly and helpful, sometimes you get someone incompetent or downright rude. And they act like that to each other as well as customers. Overall, IF you know what you need and aren't requiring much help, it's a good place to go and get supplies and it's much faster to get in and out of than most competitors.

I went in and wanted a return on 10 wing nut's that I didn't need, had my receipt, the cashier told me Marvin's has stopped giving refunds on bulk items, I told her I didn't know this was a bulk item? So she said the nighttime cashier's were giving refunds on items that they were being told was what customers bought. So she said being she knew they were wing nut's she would give me my refund, I told her thank you because I had over $8.00 worth. I asked doesn't she think that was penalizing the customer's who had receipts, she said yes but the cashier's didn't know the products. So I'm thinking if the cashier doesn't know the stores products why isn't the Manager doing the refunds? Why should the customer not get a refund because the manager doesn't want to give a refund or at least be called to the front to see what their money is being handed out for????? I will not be back to that store, I will gladly drive 30 miles to a Lowe's or Home Depot

If they have what you need, then the prices are pretty good. But they rarely have what you need. Also, the staff and management couldn’t care less about the customers. They are just there to ride the clock while doing as little work as possible.

Terrible customer service. Everytime we go which has been several times. They either don't care that you are in the store and you can't get help at all or they follow you around like your going to steal stuff. My last time I went back because I needed one thing. The cashier walked off from the register and didn't come back for a while someone else in line finally had to ask one of the guys if someone could start checking people out. As far as selection and price you are better off to go elsewhere.

This is a really nice store. It has more than you need for all your home and hardware needs. However, the prices are far more compared to other companies in the same industry. I try to shop locally-owned stores because it's good for our home economy. Nevertheless there are several items I've gone elsewhere to purchase because the price was far more at Marvin's. There were items that I physically have bought elsewhere that were half the price of what Marvin's asked for. No incentive discounts either like military and such. I hope they look at this and make some changes for ours and thier sake. We love our hometown but times are hard and overspending is not on my priority list.

After shopping here on multiple occasions for many of our construction projects, we had the police called on us today. We feel embarrassed and discriminated against as the officer who responded even said there was no reason for the police to have been called. We were checking out with some construction material as we have done many times and the cashier demanded to see my ID which I happily passed over, then he makes a copy of my ID and handwrites a letter saying I purchased all of the material and said I had to sign it as it was the companies policy. As I am signing this letter I look up and see that he had the police called to come and look at what I have purchased. This store and its employees will not have our business anymore. I had hoped a manager would come to my aid as I would think by now I am a familiar face there but I guess the color of my skin deterred them.

Was the worst service ever had. Asst. Manger walking around in black trench coat if I hadn’t been with my husband I would have been afraid he was up to something. Didn’t have anybody to help load what we were buying. Want be back.

My family and I moved to Fayetteville last year to be close to our son. However I still have my southern Maine accent like people from Boston. The first few times needing a few things for our home I did not receive good customer service. Always got the "not from around here look" and then the person(s) would just point their finger and say "its over there."Why I am writing this is because now to the present moment I did go to Marvin's I started to receive very good customer service! I thought "WOW!" What a big change!! on Sept. 1st (yesterday) I needed 30 cider blocks. I thought (being a woman) "oh here I go again" I will have to load the cinder blocks myself. I, instead was received by 2 very friendly and strong young men and happily loaded to cinder blocks for me!! We joked around about my Maine/Boston accent and I shared how we really talk to each other and we all laughed at this!! They were such a blessing! Never lose this type of customer service as people like me (now a widow) can certainly use this great help! Sorry this is long, but Marvin's deserve recognition on indeed to huge positive change in their customer service! Keep up the good work!!

I have been shopping at Marvin's ever since they opened. They provide a great service in our small town being the only local hardware supplier open in the evenings and on the weekends. Prices are a little higher, but low enough that it is not worth driving out of town in most cases. However, they seem to be loosing their focus, selling clothing, hunting goods, way over priced appliances . This is now taking up at least 40% of the store, and as a result their inventory and/or selection is always too low. It has gotten to the point that we are amazed when they have what we need, when they use to always have what we needed. IE: Making multiple trips to get paint, because they are always out of the base. Found out the hard way their Valspar Paint Colors will not match Lowes Valspar Paint Colors because the base is different between the two stores! Full view Lawson Storm Doors - only white for months now. 1/2 the selection of vinyl flooring they use to have etc.

Overall I would rate this visit as okay. Marvin's is a great store to pickup quick things to fix up your home. Lately though, they appear to be having trouble keeping their store shelves stocked. Also several of the prices were different on the store shelves than at the register.

The need to be more helpful with there customer's. Had a cashier tell me they are going to have you walk back out there and get the idem number. I told him they can unload it before I go back again and get you the idem number.

I always get my materials from Marvin's. The prices always either match or beat Lowes or Home Depot. Staff is knowledgeable, super friendly and helpful. Especially the delivery driver and yard workers! Super cool bunch of people.

Great store! Always has what I need, they're very pricey though. You'll find better prices elsewhere but as far as convenience it's worth the trip for sure!

Bought a bag of pro mix soil and it was like buying a bag of mud. It was soaking wet in clumps and smelled like $*** no lie. It wasn't potting soil like its supposed to be.

Just moved here and I do lots of furniture restore projects. Marvins had everything I needed and I also got some keys made while I was there. Everyone was very friendly and I will be back for my patio redo next!!!
