Bugs! Bed bugs or some other kind were in my room. I have so many bites on my arms. The room was pretty dirty as well. I had to use a hand towel to wipe down the wall between the beds. There was soda or something all over it. The lamp was dirty, the ironing board cover was gross. The bathroom walls were filthy. See photo. The mattress kept sliding off the bed a bit, hitting the light cord and unplugging it. The plug for the tub didn't work so water slowly leaked out. The manager said that the room was checked every day for bed bugs. Highly unlikely since there was no attention to detail or in depth cleaning going on. We left before 2 on Saturday even though we paid for 2 days. We had to stay there the previous weekend and that room was also less than clean. The person next door, who appears to live there because they were still there the 2nd weekend, fell asleep with the TV on loud enough to hear through the wall. Since you go through the gas station to book and call with a problem, there was no one to call because it was closed. We were given no other number in the event of a problem. Couldn't stay at the other motel the 2nd trip because they were full. AVOID this place.

I’ve stayed in this hotel many times and it has been fine but this time when I called to make a reservation it took 3 days. Finally was able to make the reservation then when we got to the room tv didn’t work stains on the bed,walls,and towels we didn’t get any fresh ones for our 2nd day stay lucky family is close and we could borrow some. I would not recommend this place I’m not sure what happened here but something needs to change. Big missed opportunity here. Not to mention that the wifi password they gave us didn’t even work.

Images of bloodstained sheets, pillowcases and top cover are still fresh on my mind. Upon closing the door, I noticed tobacco spits and splatters on the wall just inside the door. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke even though the room was listed as non-smoking and I signed a no smoking waiver . There was only a sliver of toilet paper left on the roll. No spare roll. The rude cashier questioned me after I walked in the rain over to the Shell station to ask for a roll. After showering, walking around barefooted, I warmed a meal in the microwave, then brushed my teeth. Climbing into bed, I noticed that the bottom of my feet were black. The room was Disgusting!I was hesitant to post a review and didn’t want to take the time to do so , but the images of the blood stains ands spit are still lingering.I had arrived late, It was after midnight and too exhausted to go elsewhere. This is no way to accommodate a tired traveler.

In need of serious cleaning. Upon arrival the rooms air conditioning isn't turned on to prepare for you being there. We walked into a room that was 90 degrees, in the room. The room was dirty and not maintained. The mattresses were newer and showed no sign of wear or bugs. The sheets were a different story. The floors were not well vacuumed, doors, refrigerator, microwave, mirror and bathroom all need a deep clean. It was close to where we rafted. I wouldn't recommend it and we definitely won't stay again.

Great choice for overnight. We found ourselves unexpectedly needing to stay in the area and we are out of state visitors.Clean, black out curtains darkenedthe room for daytime sleep, quiet, easy check in and less than $50 I believeBehind gas station that stays staffed but quiet, very well lit parking lot. Felt safe. Great place.

Where to begin. Its cheap and you get what you pay for. Check in is inside the gas station... need I say more? Clerk was off putting and gave us several heavy handed warnings about not smoking in the room. We don't smoke. You don't. Need to scold me like I'm in kindergarten. Beds were surprisingly comfortable but I like them soft. Shower had excellent pressure but sheet rock and wallpaper was peeling off. We were in a pinch and just need a dry place ans for $77 bucks it sufficed.

I disagree with previous review by 100 percent. I have wanted to stay in this hotel/inn for 15 years. It was as wonderful as I imagined. Our room was immaculate. My favorite part was the rocking chairs outside. It's just clean, calm, quaint and for me, absolutely perfect!!! I love this place.

Horrible check-in staff. She is very rude. We have stayed here 5 different times over 6 month period. We thought we had found our hotel to stay at on our trip to the Circle j steakhouse then to hotel and on to Murphy casino. It’s been an occasional weekend trip for my husband and I.Let me tell you our experience with them today. We get into the room and the TV doesn’t have signal on most channels. There was 2 that did come in clear. I called the gas station to let the check in lady know. She said she would have her guy come in 15 mins. We waited and waited and also realized the heat was not working. So then I went to the gas station to let her know we would like another room, with heat. She refused and said her guy will come in 10 mins. I was trying to understand so I went back to the room to wait. He did come to repair the TV and Heat with no success. He walks out and tells me to come back to the gas station in 15 mins if the heat doesn’t start working. Within that time the lady that checked us in called to ask if heat was working. I told her no. She ask me to come to the gas station to get a key for a different room. When I arrived she said because room 105 is a very nice room, I need to put a deposit down so if that’s any damage. I told her we’ve stayed in room 105 and it’s no different than the other room except the HEAT AND TV WORKS!! She starts arguing with me that she’s never seen me before. My patience had ran out. I told her to just give us our money back and we will go somewhere else. She said no you stay in room 105. I told her no I wanted my money back. She refused to give out money back. We had not been in the room an hour. Then the guy that come to repair the TV and Heat starts to diffuse the argument and is very apologetic and ask me to walk with him to room 105 to check it out. I did and everything worked in that room. He is a very nice guy and made it right but because of the lady that checked us in, we will never stay here again. She should have just gave us a different room with no attitude in the begin instead of going through all that to have HEAT and TV!!

Dead roach greeted us behind the bathroom door. Shower was very slow draining. Toilet would not flush pee and almost over flowed. We checked in very late and the gas station "office" closed soon after. Had to use gas station bathroom in the morning. Person I spoke to over the phone about the situation initially refused to offer any compensation. Eventually we agreed to $30 being refunded. We had rm112.

This motel was probably one of the worst and nastiest motels I've ever stayed in, plus the people who ran it were very rude and you had to go to the gas station to get a room they did t even have an office. The mattresses looked to be 40 yrs old, mold on ceilings, paper thin pillows, the rooms stunk, and you had to pay a $50 key deposit on top of the $75 for the room. If I could I'd give it a lower rating!!!

This hotel is (or was for us) 59.99 a night. Honestly I got alot more than I thought I would for this price. The beds were clean and bug free, the bathroom was cleanish... the towels felt like 80 grit sand paper and you have to check in at the gas station. The TV has plenty of channels and not just local ones. (That was a suprise) theres no fridge or microwave. But the gas station has a microwave (after some convincing they allowed us to use it. Theres no ice machine. Again the gas station has one you'll be allowed to use. And the mattress is soft (like sink to the floor soft) all in all it wasnt a bad experience or hotel. I'd honestly stay there again if on a budget and in the area. The AC in the room works extremely well.

Room 105 has bed bugs. When we got back home my wife had bites all over her body and we soon found out it was bed bug bites. Be careful here it’s a good price room with food close but I don’t think we will ever stay here again if we return.

I have not had the opportunity to stay here so I have no opinions about the room, just the management. I planned a trip here for a bike race coming up this month but my plans had to change. I immediately went to the website and cancelled my reservation for April 26th and 27th on April 10th and received a confirmation email. After a few days of not seeing a refund I called to inquire and was assured it would be returned on the next business day. I emailed again on the 13th and still no reply. It has been over a week so I called again and was told I needed to call back in 10 minutes. Being kind of confused by this I asked why and the lady said he will call me back then. She did not ask me for a phone number and I did not give one so how was he going to call me whoever it is? I waited an hour and called back. They asked for my reservation number and then said they were going to email "him" and they would contact me. I asked him if he knew my name and he replied no but he was going to email the right person. I asked to be copied on the email and he said no. At this point I do not know if I will receive a refund but will be happy if I do. This kind of treatment is what makes it really hard to support small business because I have no recourse but leaving a review or calling everyday and just frustrating myself further.

Door jam busted out. Lady at check in not to polite. Refused to give another room. Door does not stay shut unless use deadbolts and then is not exactly secure. Would not recommend staying here.

I stayed there last night, 1-22-16. It cost me 62.20 + a bag of ice. Room was clean. A coffee maker but no coffee. A phone jack but no phone not even to call the front desk, um, convenience store, also owned by the proprietor. He told me to use my cell phone. If you have AT&T you are out of luck there, IDK about other providers. The mirrored closet door was broken and off the tracks. The carpet was very old and wrinkled, I tripped twice. The chairs were thread bare. The TV was a 25" tube type. It did have plenty of channels but it was blurry. The Wifi TOTALLY SUCKED! The top of the mattress MIGHT have been 18" off the floor. The Owner(?) told me that I could have free coffee at the convenience store on the property. In his defense, he also told me I could have free ice if I brought the bucket from the room...it was 200' uncovered round trip, 34 degrees and raining. Next trip I will stay in Murphy.

They will give you a room & ask you to go to another room to use bathroom because toilet won't flush. No firewalls between rooms. A person can climb in ceiling from one room to another. Keep heading toward Murphy, NC. Not worth the money.

Repeat customer, stay here Everytime I'm in town. Best hotel in ducktown. Clean beds, bathrooms and anything you need is taken care of promptly. Gas station, Hardee's, and dollar store just a walk away. Owners are great and always friendly!

Stayed here several times while on business trips in Ducktown - new owners are very friendly and my room was clean and welcoming. Had a good night of rest, free high speed WiFi is a big plus also. It is certainly the best choice lodging for Ducktown area.

This is a family owned little Inn. It's a bit older and has some quirks but he inn is we'll maintained and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They also own the gas station lo aged on the same property. There's a dollar general, family Dollar and Hardees all located with in walking distance. The inn is right on Hwy 68 for convience!

Didn't stay but did stop for coffee. Looks like they may have cabins for rent and I would love that. 5 star if that is the case

It was very nice. The beds were really soft. The shower pressure was not the best, at least we had a shower.
